This was an episode of character building and plot laying.

Strong follow up episode. Some things aren't quite clear, such as how Jae Yeol and Hye Soo we're saved and Hye Soo’s injured arm is suddenly healed but the character setting was great. Jae Yeol is arrogant but he is principled. He dropped the lawsuit for the sake of his friend despite the betrayal, he spoke up immediately when he said Hye Soo’s friend and boyfriend were an item on the side, and he took the housemates shooting the messenger in his stride and opened that door once more. We learn a bit more about Jae Bum’s “crimes”and why he attacked Jae Yeol in the first episode. One of the best things of the episode was the introduction to the mother, Jang Ok Ja. It was brief, but there was something about the encounter that leaped out to me. I felt the significance of her introduction through the mimilistic introduction. Hye Soo’s past is learned as well, and how her mother relates to her fear of sex. The conclusion of the first case study of the show - the abuse of Lee El’s cameo character - was done well, showing Hye Soo’s strengths as a doctor, while another case study showed her weaknesses. It allowed for a more conclusive idea of Hye Soo as a person.

Spoiler Warning, as this review is me rewatching It's Okay, That's Love.

What an outstanding opening episode into the series this was. Jo In Sung immediately allowed me to be pulled into the drama with his natural charisma. In an hour he showed himself to be a plethora of things. A wise, quick thinking man but he isn't perfect and has a few storms brewing with this mysterious man who hates him with a vengeance (who'll eventually be revealed to be his brother) and a plagiarism issue. Plus some more hints and glimpses that you won't catch on the first viewing. One thing I certainly didn't catch during my first time was the links between Jang Jae Yeol’s writing style and the plot itself. One of the first cases Jae Yeol involves himself in, along with Ji Hae Soo, is a schizophrenia case. And, like Jae Yeol’s books, the main character always meets his end to the same thing he inflicts on others. I couldn't help but smile with delight at how incredible the writing was and it's so much more apparent now I know what's going to happen. Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin have sizzling chemistry together. And it all comes off the sexual tension and intense dislike from Ji Hae Soo for Jae Yeol. Hate as any emotion that could easily turn into love and this proved it most of all. Our side characters have been introduced well. But of course this whole episode was dedicated to kicking off what will be an emotional roller-coaster.

Absurd opening episode.

As the headline says, this was absurd and littered with horrible writing and character set ups. If I never heard that it got better as the show progressed, I would've dropped this immediately. I did. I watched it until half way through and gave up because of how stupid it was. So many unnatrual coincidences to set up history and links between our characters. If accidents like that happened easily in real life, none of these characters would be in a Job. I virtually know nothing about aviation but really?Thankfully this improved substantially in episode two. Han Da Jin is a delight but this was not a good episode for her character or direction.

A teasing episode for the blossoming relationship between Eugene and Ae-Shin

As Ae-Shin and Eugene meet coincidentally around time, they get more playful and comfortable before being brought back into reality due to their country's alignments.Plus we see more of Dong-mae's heartbreaking story, filled with pain and vengeance.

Strong comeback after a rather okay first episode.

Our characters finally met in rather unusual ways - joint assassination attempts, hotel check-ins. Eugene interrogating Ae-Shin, knowing that they both were involved in the incident was great. The use of languages was a very subtle way for Eugene to get Ae-Shin's attention, who was recently exposed to thr English language and gained a small interest in it, and here is a Korean looking man that can speak both the native tongue and this fascinating new language of love (as her old friend is learning it for that reason).Dong-mae, our Butcher's Boy turned Yakuza tough, had a good introduction. While he doesn't let his crew or little girl know that he's aware that she's hiding the documents they are looking for, he clearly is aware and lets her off, showing his small grasp on mercy and cunningness.
