Nice Light Hearted Romance/Detective Drama
The story is interesting with a mix of romance, prince charming, cross dress, imperial feud, sweet sibling love, cute second lead romance, humor; basically, it's a hearty feel good drama. The acting is great and the chemistry among the actors were good. The back drop production set is beautiful. The detective works are concise and short pieces of a large puzzle that conglomerated for a nice finish. The whole story is short and concise, not drawn out nor dragged out making it a delightfully feel good drama. There are some flash backs but not irritatingly overdosed. There are also a bit of joyful funny moments. I can't say it is something I would re-watch but I can say that it was definitely worth time watching it.Was this review helpful to you?

A cute romantic drama with lots of humor. The romance runs parallel with exciting competition teamed with life events, love, teamwork, forgiveness, understanding, and self enlightenment. I felt myself emotional caught up in their competitions and strategies. There is no dramatic second lead unrequited love, thank goodness. The actors are great; all have the right chemistry together. There were not much flashbacks until the last two episodes. Still, it's definitely a re-watch, binge worthy drama. I have to say I was dragging the drama longing because I did not want it to end. This is definitely worth another season as they move on to the next journey in their competition.

Update: Having read up to chapter 55, the drama is not the same as the novel. The characters are the same but the plots are different.

The romance grows on you.
As of episode 7, this drama is similar to the movie Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. What is fascinating is the two main actors are speaking in different languages (Korean and Mandarin) and they worked well together to a point where I do not see a language barrier. A few others also interacted well together in the two languages. I am staying on to see how their relationship grows together. Getting pass the language differences, the interaction between the actors flowed well, and there is definitely chemistry between the two leads. There is also humour that helps. The music is definitely background that does not drown the dialog. Zou Mi looks like a cross between Choi Siwon, Ji ChangWook , and Lee MinHo; and his actor is great. I wonder why he is not in more dramas; I would love to see him in Korean or Chinese drama currently. I am going to binge on this drama. Great ending BTW.Update: Dramavery has the mandarin voice over for the Korean speaking parts.
