It's pretty good for a remake, actually, it's pretty good period. I prefer this over the remake any day to be completely honest. The acting is perfect, it's just the storyline that really throws me off. It just spends too much time in the beginning developing the plot then at the end spends too little time closing it up. I felt like there should've been some kind of balance between the two, which there wasn't. It's undeniably rushed and ridiculously corny, but isn't that how movies like this are supposed to go? It's generally an upbeat, funny and cute watch. :)
Although this movie has a sad element to it, don't let it pull you away from watching it. If you're like me and a cry baby - - you'll cry. You'll almost instantly guess what's going to happen - - In your head, but in your heart you're hoping for the latter to be happy. Even though it's pretty predictable, definitely not original - it's beautifully executed. The reason that this is so good is partially due to the great writing/timing, but the amazing cast. The OST is wonderful & just adds on to how much I love this movie.
I lost interest around episode 20. Everything that followed that was boring and repetitive, and left me at a loss for words because I had high hopes for this drama. The actors/actress are really what persuaded me to stay and finish it. My advice is to completely skip this drama. Unless you like being bored to death, then by all means this is for you.
As much as I loved the cast, there is nothing that any of them could've done to improve this storyline. Isn't this, you know, a pedipile's dream? A 17 year old and a 32 year old? If you're into ~forbidden romance~ please try a different movie. This movie was like a censored porn, except it wasn't censored at all! I didn't enjoy it at all, but each person has different opinions. My opinion? Watch a movie where you can actually see the great talent and acting that is Shim Ji-ho. Watch something like the drama Sorry, I Love You or the movie Frozen Flower. :)
Although I do see some valid points in the reviews before this one, I enjoyed this drama to no end. The plot was messy and all over the place but that's probably due to the writer switches and PD/Director switches and not to mention Mrs. Park's car wreck that prolonged/altered the story that set this drama off the balance early on. With all that in mind - the drama (with those elements factored in) wasn't the worst drama I've seen and not the best. It was more like a comfort food. It kept me full and was soothing while doing so. It doesn't have a deep plot but the characters carried it for me. Set aside how much of a babe Yonghwa is, Minhyuk's character was just oodles and oodles of fun for me. It's cliche, but I liked every minute of it.
Although this movie lacks a pull forward plot line and drags to almost a crawl at the end, it was worth watching. It wasn't an award winning film and wasn't the worst film.
