I dreamed. I chased. I failed. I continued. I achieved.

This is probably one of the best sport drama I’ve ever watched so far. I like how realistic and stressful Xu Tan’s journey on becoming a Ping Pong champion. He is indeed a good role model for those who also encountering difficulties on achieving their ambitions. Watching this inspired me to keep on pursuing my dreams despite of the hardships I will be facing of and it also allows me to be more ambitious as ever.

When I was on high school, I used to be a referee on Ping Pong during our school’s intramurals. That is why, I already had a little information on how to play it but after watching the show, I was too amazed on how serious and hard it is to play the game. This also made me so interested on the Olympics game which doesn’t really pull my interest back then. China is really a powerhouse competitor in the Table Tennis world.

Professional Ping Pong players’ journey is way more difficult as what normal people imagined it to be. There’s only one champion every game and the rest unfortunately loses. The saddest part of the drama is when someone gives up or bid farewell to Ping Pong who they played for several years. I cried a lot for every featured player on the drama who can’t make it towards their dream. It’s painful to surrender halfway on your journey. But then again, life is life, we win and we lose, we have no choice but to keep living and surviving in the world.

Xu Tan and Yu Ke Nan were both the main character here but I found YKN attitude more promising than XT. As an ordinary human, YKN personality is really hard to deal with however I admired his firm grip on his dream and not allowing anyone to ruin it, he is arrogant yet determined to make his dream a reality. On the other hand, XT is a warm hearted man and I like it but whenever he took the blame for something that he really didn’t do and just to save his friends, I was too annoyed to watch it. We can also see that XT’s personality changed a lot after kicking out from the national team and transferring in a university, he then became too selfish and self-centered which I kind of understand where it coming from but as a viewer I find it so hard to accept the sudden change of his behavior. Anyways, I am so happy at the end, XT became a champion and every character in the story has given the proper closure to the story.

At first I thought the romance will bother me but actually it is a pretty good addition to the story. However, XT’s university girlfriend is so cringe to watch, she pushes her acting to be a cute girl but it failed. I like Lei Lei more than her but it was a good decision too that XT feelings is only a one sided love.

It was a long phase of episodes but worthy to watch. Sometimes I feel bored but it was actually a fun and inspiring drama to watch. The music is soooo good! The transitions of scenes and ping pong battles are very excellent too. In terms of acting, they all did their best and it was a fine acting.

One word to describe the show: INSPIRING

Season 1 is much more better

As a fan of the first season of Girl from Nowhere, I am disappointed that I didn’t feel the same feelings I felt on the previous season while watching this second season. Adding Yuri as a rival of Nanno isn’t a wise choice to begin with. Its ruin the fun of the series and I just wish that they simply stick with Nanno being the only one who keeps transferring school and bringing justice and karma in her own way. I think that they rushed producing the show because the first season were became hit, popular and in demand to the viewers. Pushing another episode is fine but I just hope that it still executed the same level of creative stories from the first one.

I can’t help but to compare the two season. In which, this season is way more too weak than the prior season. My say on every episode:

EP01 (Pregnant) – A good start yet the story is so typical. But I still like the message of the episode, reversing card for those male who loves to fuck then avoid responsibilities if unexpected pregnancy happens.

EP02 (True Love) – A “just okay” episode. Breaking one’s traditional believes is something that close minded people should do. The world is evolving and as days passed by, believes also changed. As long as it is ethical, it is acceptable.

EP03 (Minnie and the Four Bodies) – Boring and messy episode. Watching this episode annoys me, obviously in a negative way. I like the acting but the transition of the story is so confusing.

EP04 (Yuri) – Another good episode. This is when the background of Yuri being introduced. My favorite part for this episode is the devilish attitude conveyed by both victim and suspect.

EP05 (SOTUS) – My favorite episode. This should be the standard level of GFNW concept, bold and artistic. I also disliked implementing traditional way of disciplining students mind and body be means of an organization. In my experience, during my junior high school days, I obliged to enter the CAT (some sort of training similar with the army but only demonstrate in an appropriate way for students) which I trained for being an incoming officer. It was so painful and tired full both mentally and physically. Only since graduation I realized that it is just a total waste of my energy plus I really hate the time that our senior (upper level students) gives us an unreasonable bunch of punishments just to satisfy themselves. Anyways, this is the only episode I enjoyed watching among the rest of them.

EP06 (Liberation) – Weird. I know that the drama is all about weirdness but this episode is so weird in a way that I feel so irritated with its unrealistic story even though the whole concept is irrational at all. Yuri is so annoying here hahaha good thing Nanno proves how to handle the situation in her own cleverness way. I also laughed in the story portraying a school who murdered their own students and making them imprison in a dark room for days hahaha. Anyways, I don’t get the grey part ending? Do they unable to return to their original color because they’re so used on living in a grey world or what?

EP07 (JennyX) – Nothing extraordinary again. Common story and plot plus Nanno seems to be getting boring and boring each scenes.

EP08 (The Judgement) – Very expected episode. I saw the same kind of story in a popular western movie. Maybe they get the idea in it but still it doesn’t amaze me at all. For me, this episode is just bland. The ending seems to point out that they still processed another season in which another girl was infected by Nanno’s blood.

Overall, cinematography and consistency of Kitty being Nanno is the factors I liked the most in this season. Stories and the adding of characters in the concept is not effective for me. Still, I do enjoy the whole show from time to time but I do expect more thrill and excitement.

Good storyline but at some point failed to execute

MaxTul is one of the icon of early BL's so I'm anticipating this series since the announcement. MOD gives a new and fresh Thai BL genre which talks about crime.

Likes in the drama:
• A fine drama portrayal of the negative side of politics or those who have the power to commit sins.
• Brave storytelling, it was dark and controversial
• Tackles real life issues
• Inspector M rules the show. He's fit and tight uniform serves the meal hahaha he's the hottest here. Plus he's good on acting so I was really captivated by his presence. Great Sapol did his job very well.
• Tat and Sorawat is the cutest! I do smile a lot watching their scenes together, it was so lovely
• The last ep also gives us Inspector M and Dr. Oat surprised chemistry. Hey, but we want more.
• Such a beautiful scenery in the ending

Dislikes in the drama: (Although I give this a 8/10 rating, I am still hesitant if this really a good rating for them cause the drama has too many flaws)
• Tul acting isn't really that convincing
• Romance from the main couple didn't actually work.
• Predictable plot, I guess it is not deserving to be called as a plot. I, as a viewer loosens the excitement everytime I predicted the next scenes in the story. I've seen a lot of it from other dramas.
• Since EP1, I already know that Rung is the one who killed Jane. Maybe because I have a good instinct or maybe there's only a limited character presented in the story.
• It went downhill after the earlier episodes
• Most gun related scenes are too unrealistic, how come they always survived it
• I often feel bored

If only they can manage to pull off the intense-action scenes with no plot hole and unconvincing scenarios, maybe my ratings will be higher than this. But overall it was a good drama.

Started up bad but ended up good.

For someone who watched the original version, I can't help myself but to compare. But in this review, I'm going to limit the comparison and mainly focus in this Korean version.

First of all, as a fan of Kim Yohan since PDX101, I'm so happy that finally he made his acting debut. But tbh, his acting is kinda stiff and confusing. I understand that it is his first acting but the viewers need more than that. Poor acting really affects the whole show.
Same with So Juyeon. I love her so much in Dr. Romantic but his role here is cringe and look like she's forcing to be cute and clumsy which didn't really work.
Yep Hoe Hyun's acting on the other hand, is commendable. He's cute and sexy at the same time. Wu Busong and Woo Dae Sung, you both match and did your role perfectly.
Then we have Jung Jin Hwan. Unlike the C-version, I don't find him cute, adorable, and funny. I'm not really happy but still he did well too.
The good thing about this remake is how they change the episode of Kang Ha Young not falsely admitting that she is the one who gives the medicine to her depressed classmate. In the Chinese version, I was really annoyed by that scene.

The first part of the story (during their highschool days) is pretty boring and plain. The only reason I keep watching is to finish what I started. Thankfully, the moment they enter University, the story is getting good and I'm glad to see that progress.

The music really fits the concept, I like it more than the remake of the drama itself.

Overall, I give this a rating of 7.5 over 10. If only they manage to be consistent from the very start, maybe I can give them a higher rating points than this. I'm sorry Yohan but I'm just trying to be objective and hopefully on your next drama project, I can see your improvement. A Love So Beautiful Korean Remake is cute and sweet but not really memorable.

Unrealistic story but bearable to watch

Among the airing Thai BL drama this year, Gen Y is probably much okay than the rest. It is not really that perfect but it's good enough. 8/10

The drama has it's pros and cons, I guess I'm riding on a roller coaster ride cause one episode make me feel good but another episode bored me then vice versa.

PROS of the show:
- KimCop chemistry is one of a kind! In the first place the reason why I watch Gen Y is probably because of the two of them. I can't get enough of their cuteness, I love them both.
- Kit, Mark, Jack, and Koh are my favorite character in the show. I need to see more Jack-Koh moment! Is it JackKoh or KohJack? Who will be the top? Hahahahha. These two is the cutest I love their dog and cat relationship.
- No homophobic person was feautured. One thing I love about the show is that the couples didn't encounter someone who hates them cause their gay. They're all living in the fantasy that some people wish to be real. As you can see in the drama, too many students fall in love with some of the characters, specially Wayu. Mark even freely vlog about the suitors of his best friend.
- I don't know if this one is a pros or cons. It is not a Thai BL drama without an endorsement screentime every episodes. Hi Viva Plus!

For the CONS:
- If only they didn't push the supernatural concept, things will be a little bit great. The story is kinda confusing after they inserted the destiny something. It doesn't really fit the flow of the past few episodes.
- Zero-feels for Wayu and Thanu romance. As in, I skip most of their scenes. I didn't feel a thing, it was nothing but plain conversation of two person.
- Too many characters that eventually turns MarkKit looking like a side couple instead of the main couple. The last two episodes feauture different stories but as the main character, they should inserted MarkKit story more.

I hope the season 2 will be greater than this but overall I like the drama.

If only they can present more

tvN is the home of fantasy-genre dramas. I was really hooked in the beginning because I am a fan of this type of story.

There are times that I got bored over the main couple. I'm disappointed how the series mainly focus on the romance story of the two which is pathetic in my part because at some point, I just wish that Ji-ah just let herself be killed so that she can save many lives. I really hate how Lee Yeon let Imoogi kill hundreds of innocent people for the sake of his true love. Imagine people are dying and you have a responsibility into it but you choose to be selfish and protect the one you love. Yes, I know that a gumiho can only love once their life but I feel sad for the death of the people cause by the villain. Sometimes, I can't even feel the chemistry between Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah. I feel like they can be a good brother and sister in a drama or even best friends. But as a couple, I guess 60-40 ratio.

Another flaw is that they can create more story about the mythical creatures they presented in the story because the watchers left with a lot of questions. Me, for example, I always search in the internet on who is this creatures tackled in an episode and what he/she do? But some of them already answered in the story but I just need more.

I love the ending! The ending is what an ending looks like. Letting them sacrifice Lee Rang is a good choice to let the viewers cry in sadness. I love the character development of Lee Rang and how he able to freed from his own misery.

Overall, I have mixed emotions on Tale of Nine Tailed. I love their acting and production. I was only looking for more story to be told and written in this but it's still a good drama.

Light yet childish

I have a hard time liking this show since it started up messy with the over-romanticized concept of love. It's a good idea to introduce to the viewers that face blindness is a real-life condition. However, the show failed to provide a script that tackles the deeper taught of this phenomenon and solely focuses on the charm of romance that isn’t even as powerful as it should be. The female lead has a senseless nature that made her bland. Except for Veronica, most of the cast is somehow annoying. I also don’t like the continuous appearance of the female lead’s deceased mother who she can talk with in times of trouble. I got the idea of how they’re trying to establish the loneliness of the main character but it was too dramatic in a way that the viewer felt too much coming out from the genre of the show which is rom-com.

Nevertheless, I finally enjoy the last few episodes of the show after the Director catches the lie of his secretary. Yet, it was still not that sensational compared to a lot of romantic shows that I’ve watched before. They even rushed the ending by having the Director gain back his sight of people’s faces then cut the scene after the two met at the rooftop. Overall, it is not that great but not that bad kind of drama that is still good at some point.

A touch of a beautiful BL

One of the best BL series of 2024. I randomly watched the first two episodes and am already in love. Japanese BL shows never disappoint. It has the uniqueness and charm of getting me involved with the characters and story that satisfied me. The male Beauty Advisor profession as a concept was fresh to me and they did a perfect way of revolving the romance into it.

It’s raining handsomeness and cuteness. Every character from this drama has a visual on a god-tier level. Toyoda Yudai topped the list to the point that my news feed all over my social accounts was about him. He nailed every hairstyle he got, his eyes and smiles always got my heart, and he was an excellent actor. He reminds me of several BL actors such as Kentaro Maeda and Tatsunari Kimura. Also, I never expected to see Okuno So’s as a fragile and innocent character. The last project I watched him was the role of a badass ex-boyfriend to a chef. He portrayed Natsume in this show flawlessly, this is my favorite drama from his filmography.

Special mentioned as well to the fluffiest yet clumsy Tomoki as Harukawa. His angel eyes were captivating. Sono Shunta always became a major support role in BL shows and I liked every character he got. The rest of the cast was eye candy and established greatness by being firm in their roles.

The best thing about this drama is that in every episode, they give a plot that is handled swiftly before the end of that episode. It gives the viewers the feeling of comfort that problems are not being prolonged with the joy and excitement of the next things to happen to the couple. Another best part of the show is their intimate and delightful kissing scenes. Indeed, outstanding kisses from a phenomenal couple. Even their Instagram updates were bliss.

Story progression may encounter some flaws but the chemistry of the main couple is more than enough for a perfect ten rating. I’m crying with happiness due to the affectionate and loving characters presented in this BL.

Impressive flow of story with such a remarkable setting, costumes, and props

This is one of my anticipating drama of 2021 and the title itself speaks a beautiful and meaningful story. Although I’m not a fan of historical shows, the casting made me add this to the list. Jisoo and Kim So Hyun are both of my top fave K-actor ever. Then boom! Jisoo’s bullying scandal almost ruin the drama. But thankfully, it wasn’t.

I was really impress on how they started the show, I never get bored in the first few episodes. The setting and costume were super realistic. Brutality in the show is so good that I even close my eyes for some scene but the one that got me surprise is when the woman blinded her own eyes, it was super scary. War of the tribes, King vs leader of the tribes, and etc. These are really intense and remarkable clash presented in the series.

Another thing that I like about this show is that they haven’t let the viewers to wait for more episodes before the revelation scene. It is so unique compare to others. You really didn’t know what will be going to happen next while watching this, they are good on turning the tables. They demonstrate more possibilities that can occurred in a historical conflict.

RWTMR is such a good drama, speaking from experience, I often feel bored watching a historical drama but this one is an exception. Every Kim So Hyun drama is perfect on its own way, and I also observe that each So Hyun’s drama will let you torn on between the main and second lead which is hard for many viewers.

Some of my dislikes on the show:
- On Dal character is really annoying during EP13-EP18
- The fantasy ending. It is already good that On Dal died, realistic and sad ending is much better than magical and happy ending. Do some people can really play dead for a while? As ind dead with no pulse and breathing, if yes, HOW and WOW!
- Took me too long to be familiarize with the new On Dal. I know it’s not their fault that some issues suddenly blow out and affects the show but unfortunately this truly became one of the cons of the show.
- Why do the Prince become so angry with his sister the moment he become the King? I’m kind of confused in its previous scene were the King and the Monk talked about the past that is related to the late Queen. Why is he angry after that? Specifically, to the Princess?
- I feel like 20 episodes is too much for me, during the last few episode, I feel bored which I never feel during the previous episodes.

Hot take: The only ones with interesting storylines were from the supporting casts

Taiwan and its compulsiveness in making stepbrother romance as a relationship approach in a series. I liked a lot of elements from this drama, but I’ve seen too much of this concept that the impact became dull and redundant. A coming-of-age setup reminds me of some notable C-dramas I watched in previous years, and what makes this more interesting is that they give us the BL flavor to spice up the audience.

The substitute teachers and Alors Cafe owners need their show! They captivated my whole attention, and I love them the most. I demand a prequel or sequel that features them more than anyone else. The love tension is so extreme but I was left hanging by that minimal kiss and confrontation at the end. Subjectively speaking, Zhao Xi and Benny stole the show and I’m craving more from them.

Every cast did great with the portrayal of their roles. You can’t guess that these teenagers in the story were adults in real life. The squad isn’t that impactful but they still manage to provide a favorable result of high school friendship. Andy Chen as Gao Tian Yang is my favorite one from them! I’m grateful that the drama introduced me to this Gu Hai version and excited to see his next projects, hopefully, a BL show, in the future. One of my favorite episodes was the sports festival which was chaotically fun and regained the momentum of the drama’s appeal.

I applaud the production for limiting the young couple’s intimate scenes. I honestly think they can make more sexual scenarios and I’m glad they don’t. From what I’ve seen from the latest BLs today, many shows prioritize the R-18 plot more than the quality of their script.

Overall, this drama is good but downgraded by the concept of an incest-like relationship. Thankfully, the supporting characters left a good impression towards the end despite not having their proper closure to the story.

The world of doors and it’s unveiling mysteries to its players

Game of death. This has one of the best virtual-reality concepts out there, especially in how they featured several doors with their uniqueness and stories behind them. At first, I was intrigued by the BL theme from the original story, so I started to watch and read the novel simultaneously. However, due to the lack of available legal streaming platforms to binge-watch the show, I put a hold on it first because I believed that the drama's quality deserves to be supported legally. And finally, after months of waiting, I completed them today.

Chinese entertainment has always been a top tier for fantasy stories. Even though government censorship is taking huge restrictions and limitations, the chemistry is so overwhelming that it doesn’t seem to occur in a bromance drama. Lingling is so cute and handsome that I can’t stop staring at him. Ruan Zhu’s manliness is devouring my entirety. I somehow felt too sad at the ending, that they only reunited after 50 years with Lingling holding their memories alone from the real world.

As it was a game to determine the strongest among them, death is inevitable and occurs in each door. Li Dong Yuan, Tan Zao Zao, and Qian Li’s dying was too painful. It took me a while to recover from their deaths one after another. If there is one character I found annoying, it is not the antagonist but the MC’s best friend, Wu Qi. This boy was just a burden to the team and added no spice to the story.

There are loopholes but I tend to disregard them since I mostly enjoyed the overall aspects of the drama. Turning Ruan Lan Zhu into an AI character as a plot is not satisfying. I rather see him dying in the embrace of Lingling instead of bidding farewell to a virtual role. Nevertheless, the whole concept of the story is virtual reality so they give us a love story between an AI and a human.

We are each others’ number one, for all eternity

I’ve been spoiled and read several warnings about this show yet I still decided to brace it and see it for myself. Ahh yes, the reviews are all right, this drama hurts me so much. That’s why it has been raining so much since the pilot episode because they surely left us in tears. It was a good cry from a wonderful yet sorrowful love story.

I was not expecting it to be in a supernatural and mystery genre. It was a short yet the most meaningful time for the main couple. The unforeseen accident was miserable but a miracle happened, Koichi became a living corpse and froze his own time. I love the creative reasoning behind the meaning of Eternal Yesterday as the title of the drama. The main characters are always and will always be living from the precious memories of the past. The recollection of Mitchan's moments with Koichi.

From the beginning until the end, this show never failed to burst me into tears. All the characters are so lovely and the way that they produced the story of the main characters is just heartwarming. I might be too late to finish this story but I will never regret sinking myself into one of the greatest romances that I’ve seen in all BLs.

“You’re still my number one. I love you the most.”

“Mitchan, thank you for the miracle.”

A pit chain of romance

Babe, as the main character, is a trash. The drama has a unique flow of story with its composition of humans gaining an extraordinary ability among average individuals. This is a nice foundation of the story and I love the fantasy incorporated in it. However, it is so hard for me to enjoy the drama to the fullest all because of how hateable Babe is.

Firstly, they did extremely badly during the pilot episode, take note that the touch of fantasy is not yet revealed here. But the way that Babe treated Charlie like a slave or worse was just cruel. I like Charlie’s character but only without linking him to Babe. The main character should lift the whole show but all I just remembered about him is being addicted to sex and toying with people with a character development that isn’t enough to change my view on him.

A cast with a visually stunning appearance but sometimes they just lack charms to hook me up. Uncle was indeed the best character here and the most loveable one. Throughout the show, there’s only one time that I was amazed by a certain scene. It was on EP11 of the confrontation scene of Uncle Alan and Dean. The acting is on point which even made me put in tears. I love the build of tension from rage to worriness. This specific scene emphasizes the importance of the storyline and building the relationship of everyone included in the drama.

It’s a real pity that I haven’t enjoyed the romance of any couple featured in this. Uncle Alan and Jeff got me at first but eventually vanished after a few episodes. Nevertheless, it wasn’t as bad as compared to some of the Thai BLs I watched yet still Pit Babe is a below-average kind of BL for me. Everyone is obsessed with Babe but I don’t see any distinct features from Babe that are too good for everyone to get obsessed with his personality and always have the attitude. Sometimes, I feel like the story is so focused on executing great sex scenes but loses the more important part of the show which is decency and rationality of how and why these things happened in their story.

I became overwhelmed by the main characters’ cuteness

What a good way to start the year with a fluffy BL! This is extremely fun and I was already mesmerized by the charm of the main couple right after watching the first half of the pilot episode. Both of them are indeed good-looking actors with acting skills that are genuinely adorable.

The story is likable with almost no sign of cringey scenes. With only three episodes, this is enough for a worthy time to binge-watch such an entertaining show. Overflowing with cuteness and excitement. I have no major issues regarding the overall production of the show. It's just that I somehow feel disappointed or specifically demanded a lot more intimate scenes like hugging, kissing, and cuddles from the main character. Yet, there is no doubt that I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama set the bar higher for rom-com-inspired BLs. They did it properly without too much drama and a fine execution of scripts.

With this, I was once again blessed to get to know another new face in the world of BL that I will be going to stan from now on. Abe Alan, as the man running in the first place, really got my whole attention. The face card never declines but the great thing is this man knows how to act, plus he is wearing a strong sizzling aura that makes you fall in love with him. His character has an adorable personality that I always feel so fueled with happiness for his loveable nature and gestures. Akutsu Nichika is also an actor to look forward to. I like his acting and the role fits him. I was shocked by the way that the series confirmed the obvious relationship between the two actors’ managers -by showing their own bed scenes moment which were too hot and fancy.

I wanted more but I could not demand more. They already gave us a lengthy duration per episode but since the drama is so good, I am hoping for more. This is exactly the kind of feeling I want to experience each time I finish a good drama -the feeling of joy from a good watch.

Ain’t that usual kind of game we see from mainstream shows

Love everything about this show. I learned a lot just by watching the tension and plots that the story has to offer. Both of the main characters are loveable in their ways. Their combination was too powerful; one was intelligently clever in technical and scientific aspects while the other one knew how to play with someone right on top of his palm. I swear, their pairing is cuter than some mainstream romance series out there!

Meguro Ren is a beast. Never in my mind would I imagine that the actor who played so gentle and sweet in Kieta Hatsukoi could be badass and playful in this drama. This is the first Sana Hayato project that I watched and I am already loving him. At first, the story of this show is something about a deathly kids game based on its title but never expected it to be more realistic and indulgent. It allows me to be interested in how a successful business works, the cycle of stocks and investments, marketing the business, and many other things.

It was a roller coaster of a challenging journey that started with a trivial game plan, to starting their start-up company and making it well-known in the world of business. AI was already a very good concept of a company but then, they are the most selfish person in the world, and they also win the gaming and media industry. I swear, watching them win every time was a sparkling event through my eyes. If a second season is possible, I am looking forward to how they will counter the upcoming big challenges and the new game plan that Haru and Gaku is about to untold during the epilogue.
