Murder Cases Fleshed Out on the Slab
If you like watching crime series Dr Qin is the best quickie you can have. Cases are solved in one episode, every detail is fleshed out by Dr Qin, literally on the slab. The Good and The Bad
The bromanship between the inspector and his colleagues is the main reason I'm following Dr Qin. Their interaction and one liners are so funny. (Lin Tao: "I just spent 2000 yuan and got myself a swimming card" Qin Ming: "One adult swimming for 45 minutes will drink 16 liters of urine. When you drank it, was it sour?")
It's a pity there's no romance between Qin and his forensic assistent, I would love some sexual tension in this show. Anyway, it is as good as it gets, the filmmakers already compromised on their storyline. In the novel of the real Dr Qin, "Murder in Dragon City", the man is decently married and Da Bao is just another male colleague.
Overall
What really kept me hooked is the way the Chinese justice system works according to this show. Take for instance the urge to solve a case in 48 hours or the way the local press is covering the crime news. Reporters publicly mention the surname of a person who’s still a suspect. So the city, crime scenes, clothing, room interiors may have a western touch, but the police and justice system are authentic. I would say "Stare and Compare"

Wuxia Womance
Princess Silver tells the story of a woman with a hidden past, a forgotten identity, and a secret mission in a foreign country. Moreover it’s a love story with several people who feel conflicted in their feelings, and loyalties. The great cast is loaded with passionate characters. Their love is denied, unrequited, marred with regret, tied up in love triangles, and squares. Of course the main question is: will there be a happy ending for the leading couple?
Womance
This series has a a lot of clichés, but the feminist undertone sets it apart from other Wuxia drama I’ve seen. The women are represented as a commodity to be shared in a world dominated by men who follow the rule of marriage diplomacy. The males are entirely driven by their own passions, often oblivious to the feelings of women in their surroundings. Eventually they learn to understand the women they love the hard way.
The female characters are loyal to their family and friends. Even if they love the same man, they try at least to understand each other. They know how to fight, but also how to pour tea. There's a strong element of womance.
The female lead is not the typical badass-wonder woman that is trending in Wuxia drama. She’s simply human, full of contradictions. Though she is an enterprising female, opinionated, and acting very straight forward, she's also gullible and vulnerable, perhaps due to her amnesia. She admits to her friend she simply repays kindness with kindness, and anger with anger because she doesn’t know the background, or real sympathies of people that are living in her inner circle.
Sound closure
I won’t tell anything about the story lines or dangers in this drama, but at times I got the feeling they were surreal. This didn't bother me, because I loved the actors and the way they showed the feelings of their characters. I really felt the pain of slighted lovers like “brother” Rong Qi ( love Leo) General Fu Chou, or lady Xiang. The great pro of this drama is the sound closure in the finale. Just watch it for yourself.

Human Intimacy Tamagotchi Style
So far I've seen two live action versions of this popular manga series in Japan, and this one is worth your time. The story
A career woman in her thirties takes in a ballet dancer eight years her junior as a pet. At work she's in a relationship with a conventionally perfect boyfriend. The man proposes to her, but she's reluctant to accept him. Somehow she got addicted to the dopamines of petting her ballet dancer, especially his tousled hair that she washes every single day.
The actors/cast
I liked this version, the ML/FL are fitting for the story and the acting was quite natural considering the fact that this is a manga story.
The good and the bad
It seems weird, a story about a woman who shares her apartment with a man under the pretense that he's her old dog " Momo". She can cuddle him whenever she likes, no strings attached, like he's a living Tamagotchi. At work she's a cold fish, in such a way that her colleague/boy friend gets seduced by another woman who seems more open to him. So, is this just a love story, or perhaps a reference to human intimacy that is lost and found again? If so, I liked that statement, just like the message that you don't have to follow a conventional life style.
Overall
Anyway, I enjoyed You're My Pet like a fairytale. The actors have good chemistry, I liked their dialogues, and their kisses. This adaption has a sound, fulfilling ending, so if you like sweet romance, this is for you.
