A balance of everything~

Story/Plot: It has the right amount of romance, mystery, action, comedy and slice-of-life. It had some flat feeling in the last few episodes but still entertaining. The romance wasn’t forced and they had few slow motion every episode and it was just right. The mystery and climax was good enough, while the humor was totally in line with mine. Every character, even the side characters have their own humor, whether it’s sarcasm, stupidity or dark humor.

Acting: Solid. Main leads, villain and side characters did amazing. Although I was a bit unimpressed with Bong Hui in the first episode, she grew on me and eventually loved her. She can be quite annoying sometimes but didn’t take long. This is why dialogues or lines are very important when directing or visual can’t explain the thoughts/reasoning of characters, and it was well done in this drama.

Music: Loved all the songs sung by men, don’t know the titles but will surely look for them later. Songs had some English words and were usually by the end of every episode or during sad/romantic moments.

Rewatch Value: I can definitely see myself rewatching this but more on admiring Ji Chang Wook’s handsomeness, shape of his ass, the way he licks his lips and when he wears his glasses. So basically, I can watch the entire drama again. Haha!

Overall: 9-9.5 honestly. An almost perfect score. Although the drama had few loopholes and bland ending, overall, it was a really amazing watch. One of my top dramas in romcom genre. I cried, I laughed, I was at the edge of my seat, I had goosebumps and I was even frustrated, this drama brought me different emotions. It was not life changing or had a deep message about life but it was a good reminder of how we should see life and judge a person by his or her mistakes. The simplicity with a sprinkle of complex of the drama made me love it. It’s not only because of Ji Chang Wook. Ehem... I only discovered him because of this drama.

Well-deserved hype

Story: The plot is straight to the point. A king wants power to eradicate corruption & evil doings in the palace and have his revenge as well. The key to enjoy this drama is not to expect anything and it’s what I did, that’s why it was very entertaining for me. First few episodes were highly entertaining, the middle was a bit flat while the rest were good enough for you to be curious to know what will happen next. The drama will get you hooked first that you have no choice but to find out how it will end.

Acting: They were all amazing and perfectly casted, even the side characters. I think I only noticed one acting that was not passable and it was one of the court maids who were gossiping but overall, they were all phenomenal actors.

Music: Ahhh, the music(not all osts but effects) is like a mix of mission impossible & ocean’s series. When it’s time to cry, the songs were just perfect to cry on.

Rewatch value: Definitely the funny parts. Those laugh out loud ones.

Overall: It was 8.5-9 for me. The politics issue was just right and there were some unpredictable moves from the queen and king. However, there were some episodes that I found boring and some humor of the side characters weren’t that hilarious. Despite that, I still recommend this drama and will be one of the top kdramas this pandemic years.

Saved by the female lead's acting

Story: Ji Eum(female lead) remembers most of her previous lives(17 except the first) and from her last life(18th), she fell in love with a boy and wanted to know what happen after she died. The story was easy to follow with some snippets of her first life to unravel the reason why she kept being born again and again. The plot was a bit boring as the twist felt predictable for me and some villains and characters was just like a side story to make the episodes longer but didn't really add value to the drama.

Acting: 10/10 for Shim Hye Sun. She's just hands down a brilliant actress but the rest was just flat, she carried the whole show, imo. I would like to praise Cha Chung Hwa(Ji Eum's niece) acting as well, a veteran and versatile actress.

Music: I scored high for music as they seemed appropriate most of the time and I liked most of them. I remember the songs from the last episode and the piano bgm.

Rewatch Value: I wouldn't be rewatching the drama but Shim Hye Sun has a lot of cool and memorable scenes here.

Overall: 7 - 7.5 for me. This one has a good start and cute ending but the acting from most of the actors are pretty flat that didn't provide deep impression and any exciting feelings while watching them . The chemistry of the main leads felt forced as well but i did have few butterfly moments in the middle of the drama. Ahn Bo Hyun still needs to polish his acting skills plus his wardrobe was really bad, so his charm was lackluster too and as a CEO, it wasn't believable at times. I felt like they just added some eye candies(the secretary, his brother and the first life guy) but nothing really special to each of their character.

*may contain spoilers*
Issues(apart from above): feel free to correct me as i could have missed the logic behind this, if the people from previous life is supposed to die, why was her niece(Ae Kyung) able to live until that moment? it took 8-9 years for her to live(although verbally mentioned that she's been having issues for a while) but in Ji Eum's previous lives people were taken away much earlier? Apart from that, her reborn life is much faster when there's foul play behind her death but she wasn't really the target so why would it affect her? Even so, why was this 'thing' brought up in the plot but had nothing to do with her previous lives? So, i felt like there are so many things that were not answered by the end of the series. However, i do love Ji Eum's character so i just brushed off these plot holes or maybe i was just thinking too much. Maybe, See you in my 19th life is just a simple story that doesn't need to analyze profoundly.

Side Note: I didn't read the Manhwa so my review is just for the drama itself.

Good start, the rest of the episodes were dull

Plot: A girl has to hide her identity for unknown reason and grew up being a romantic story-teller/cupid to others. She was sold to become a eunuch in the palace and accidentally fell in love with the crown prince. Although there was nothing special to the plot, the first few episodes were actually endearing and fun to watch. Episodes 7 onwards, it became boring and repetitive. The princess and her letter lover were the ones who made me smile, without them on the screen, I was straight-faced or raising my left-eyebrow.

Acting: Park Bo Gum did a good job in acting, while Kim Yoo Jung was initially adorable in the first few episodes, her emotional scenes weren't very good or convincing for me. The rest of the cast were amazing, especially the villains, who kept me annoyed whenever I see their faces. Their acting were more exceptional compared to the main leads.

Music: I don't remember anything extraordinary or catchy music. Sound effects weren't memorable as well.

Rewatch Value: I don't think I'll be rewatching the main lead's scenes. Maybe the love story of Princess Myun Geun and Mr. Jeong Deok Ho, although their first meeting story was still unclear for me. The bromance of Crown Prince and his guard/childhood friend was touching and worth watching.

Overall: 6 stars because I was a bit disappointed after watching this series. I didn't expect much when I started this, but after binge-watching 6 episodes of the series, I got my hopes up, despite the cliché plot, they made the scenes interesting, however, they weren't able to keep the momentum.

With just one ticket, you can find comfort~

Plot: An art expert and a pig expert accidentally met each other on Netherlands and love blossomed. The plot is simple and easy to follow with just a hint of mystery but still predictable, however, the lines/dialogues(especially the male lead's) were good in the drama that unnecessary misunderstanding didn't happen.

Acting: Let me start with Park Gyu Young(Da Li), which, I think, is the weakest link among all of them. Her emotional scenes weren't on point that made me unmoved with her struggles/sentiments, however, she still maintained her elegance and classy temperament all through out the drama. All the sort-of villains(the woman who lives with Mu-Hak's father, Mu-hak's brother-in-law, 2 colleagues of Da Li and her drug junkie cousin), did great in annoying me, in which they made their characters very convincing. Kwon Yool(Director Tae Jin) however, stood out the most for me, with his impressive acting. I will never forget his face when he shouted 'Ko Jeo' to Mu-hak's mother-in-law and his tantrum scenes. I kinda feel bad that his suits are too limited(i think he only has two, black and blue suits) that didn't quite represented 'Segi' Group well and made him look like a sleazy businessman without power. While Kim Min Jae's(Mu-hak) suits are all masterpieces and my most favorite is his red one on the second episode. Da Li's outfits are mostly so-so, although with good color combination, the style isn't just in line with mine. Lastly, Kim Min Jae, I must say, is the strongest link of the drama, with his various expressions and even though he was 60% shouting in the drama, I still find him very charming and that dimples of him, I just wanna grab it from my computer. Haha!

Music: They have cute OST's and sound effects(even the classical songs) that are appropriate with the scenes.

Re-watch Value: All of Mu hak's scenes and his comfortable and cute chemistry with Da Li.

Overall: 8.5-9 just because of the ending. I love the ending so much, I watched it twice. The finale was an unexpected one which gave me a great overall feeling for the drama despite having it's flat plot and lackluster performance of the female lead. I also love how they showed the mature relationship of Da Li and her cocky darling despite him being clueless in a lot of things yet a serious business-minded guy. They captured the cliché 'opposites attract' trope very well. It's a decent binge-able Rom Com if you're looking for something cute and charming on a rainy day.

Side note: The bright and polished filter used for female lead was too obvious which can be distracting and unhelpful to her facial acting.

Foreplay, mostly.

Plot: A competent office lady accidentally discovered a BDSM item of her new officemate. It revolves around the introduction of BDSM and the new guy's life.

Acting: Passable acting from all the cast.

Music: Nothing exactly memorable but appropriate for the movie/scenes.

Re-watch Value: Will not re-watch this one but it's a nice movie to watch on a super boring day.

Overall: I felt like the entire movie was a foreplay before the good stuff happened. It was fast paced with a few chuckles injected. Light movie with a brief information on how BDSM works for newbies or interested with erotica. 6.5 - 7 stars

Predictable yet fun~

Story: A revenge heist that is quite predictable with sprinkles of humor.

Acting: Convincing acting with some of the familiar faces. Not sure if it's a star-studded movie but I know most of them or watched them from popular dramas. I, however, think that Dr. Jones made this movie more fun. Jo woo jin is a versatile actor and has been my favorite lately.

Music: Hollywood-like sound effects and music.

Re-watch Value: Rewatchable to those who's looking for a quick funny movie.

Overall: 6-7 stars. It's not exactly recommendable because some might find this boring because of the predictable plot but it's not a bad watch when you are bored or in need of something to pass the time. Nothing much substance story-wise but I would be interested to watch the part 2, hoping for a better plot, action scenes and villain. The CEO wasn't really scary for me and felt like the purpose of the 'snakes' was kind of a waste. Could have been better but not the worse.

30% Great, 70% Boring

Plot: Unresolved pasts of old ‘ghosts’ plus a human hotel manager with some sprinkles of other ghosts stories. The premise is quite interesting and cool but the execution was poor because of too much flashback, too much slow motion and too much focus on visuals.

Acting: Decent acting from main leads and some side characters.

Music: I did like some of the music, mostly by female but not sure if IU sang them.

Rewatch Value: Quite disappointed with how it turned out after episode 4 so no, i won’t be rewatching it.

Overall: 6 for concept, visuals and efforts of the actors. I think the director/producer focused on how visually appealing the drama is rather than the flow of the story. It was all over the place. The amount of flashbacks they keep on showing every episode made me lose interest. It took me more than a month to finish this even though I was fast forwarding a lot. I was not emotionally invested and most of the time bored with their scenes, I just wanted to know about the past and how it will end. Today, I decided to finish the 16th episode which took me less than 30 mins to finish because it was predictable and rushed. I’m quite sad because this has so much potential and I expected a lot on the first few episodes however it felt flat most of the time. What a waste of a good concept.

Last few episodes were better

Plot: I like the concept. Knowing that this will be a fake robot themed drama, I didn’t expect too much on the plot no matter how illogical it was ‘robot’-wise. Same goes with the allergy. Some scenes were quite questionable but shrugged them off instead.

Acting: Most of them did good, however, male lead acting had some NOT convincing parts in the middle of the drama especially when he figured out that he was in love with Aji3. It looked forced and I wasn’t emotionally invested.

Music: Some music were okay, some were not memorable.

Rewatch value: I don’t think I will be rewatching. It was kind of boring from Episode 1 to Episode 8, the humor weren’t my type and I couldn’t connect with all of the characters. I was able to feel something starting from episode 13 to episode 14. Despite not showing enough brotherhood with the sta. Maria team, the scenes with them when they miss their brother was convincing. Sadly, 80% of the drama was bland.

Overall: 5-6 stars. I finished this in two days not because I was hooked but because I practically fast forward almost every episode. I wanted to find out how he would react after knowing everything. Knowing that today’s generation is technologically advanced, the idea of a ‘robot’ falling in love with a human was actually good, however, the execution was not convincing enough despite overlooking illogical scenarios.

Entertaining with great acting

Plot: There’s nothing too deep about the story. A gumiho who wanted to be a human but lost interest after his experience with his first love and found another reason to be human again. The comedy side is more on the acting of female lead and her friends and then some with the female gumiho-turned-human. They made the series interesting and funny. If you want something light but can still bring out emotions, you should watch this. It’s more focused on young love & college life/friendship.

Acting: I love Lee Dam, Hye Sun & Jae Jin ‘s acting. The rest were good enough.

Music: I love most of the bgm and sound effects. They were perfect for every scene but what stood out the most is when they have this background music when Lee dam was zoning out appreciating Sir’s handsomeness. I find it very funny. Haha!

Rewatch value: All the cute and funny scenes of both couples., although the chemistry wasn’t exactly fire, their actions made it convincing. The ending of other side characters were cute too.

Overall: For a romantic comedy with fantasy elements, I think it’s really good. Just don’t expect any depth when it comes to other elements such as family or life itself but I really love Lee Dam’s character and the way they executed the main lead’s good relationship despite their differences. It’s normal for them to fight or have a misunderstanding but it didn’t last too long. They communicated well, observed and understand each other’s actions. Although it was full of cliché scenes, it was still done well and in a hilarious way. 8-8.5 for me.

Masterpiece

Plot/story: The story is like Grimm’s fairy tales with light drama. Deep but not too deep. It’s like a book for adults who loved fairytales as a child. Reality will slap you with truths but you will learn from it. Or if you are going through something, this might help you. This drama is like your much-needed warm hug when you’re feeling down.

Acting: I can’t say much about their acting because they were all great. Amazing. Even if you might find some annoying characters you’d still love them at the end of the drama. They serve their purpose. KSH cried more than SYJ, I don’t know if it’s a good thing for some but his eyes are like faucet that never runs out of water. Same goes for me. I love family dramas because it’s my weakness and this drama has so much warmth, love and kindness that you wish you have in your life. Character development of every character is just well~executed, except for the villain. ?

Music: Not memorable enough for me but the graphics are perfect. Cinematography is just magnificent.

Rewatch Value: I don’t rewatch dramas that much but if I may feel down or sad, I might rewatch this. This drama is something that you want to recommend to everyone who’s struggling or to someone you’re close with, like your family and best friends.

Overall: I have nothing much to complain except for the main female lead make up when sleeping and the real story of her mother. However, it didn’t make me dislike the drama. I might wonder about it but the execution of how they got their happy ending is satisfying for me. Kudos to all the actors, directors, producers, screenwriters and the rest of the crew. This drama is an art.

Self-aware drama

Story: Two rivals from high school met again on their lowest moment. The story is about how they will overcome their burnout and traumas from work. It’s nothing very deep but it will make you be aware of yourself, of what you are doing in life, if what you are now, is what you want to be.

Acting: I believe they did great in serving their roles however, the main couple just don’t have the chemistry despite acting really well. Their kissing scenes were great too but I just couldn’t feel the chemistry.

Music: most songs are appropriate for each scene, whether it’s emotional or happy moment.

Rewatch Value: I could rewatch most of Park Hyung Sik’s hysterics, although he had a few scenes that could be quite ‘too much / fake’, he was still cute & fun.

Overall: it’s been a long time since I finished this drama but I do remember that I recommended it to some friends ‘cos it’s a feel-good drama and perfect for binge-watching. It’s refreshing with some thought-provoking realizations as an adult.

Exceeded my expectation, acting-wise

Story: Set during Japanese invasion of some cities in China, around 1930's to 1940s. A Japanese head formed a group with Chinese men to discover and fight against the communists. The story was hard to follow at first as they showed different snippets from different times but they became clearer as the story progresses.

Acting: Wow. just wow. I am astonished at Wang Yibo's performance, especially his fighting scenes with the japanese soldiers and Tony Leung. I didn't expect to see him act so so good, as he filmed this first before 'Born to fly' and his acting their was okay. In this movie, i can totally feel his pain, anguish, sadness, and grief, which actually made me think that his character is bipolar. The small changes of his facial expressions was just amazing. This, by far, is the best acting that I have seen from him and it's now making me look forward to his next projects. The rest of the actors, of course, did amazingly well despite the short appearances. However, i felt quite awkward with Zhou Xun's and Tony Leung's hugging & kissing moment.

Music: Nothing special or memorable for me but the action scene sound effects were just perfect.

Rewatch Value: I don't think I will be rewatching this movie but i will definitely re-watch the action scenes, i love them so much.

Overall: 7.5-8 stars. Despite the convincing acting and good cinematography, the plot is quite predictable so it didn't leave a 'wow' impression on me but it was still a good watch.

Social media is just as shallow

Story: A rich-turned-broke lady had a taste of her previous life but with a twist. She missed the comfortable life that money had brought her but life nowadays is just not the same, because of the existence of advanced technology aka social media. I do like her character though, self-aware, strong willed and confident.

Acting: Honestly, the acting is not the best but the flow of the story is binge-able and you just can’t help but play ‘next’. One of the things I loved is the subtle and slow burn romance of A-ri and Jeon Kyung(although I don’t remember him smiling that much)they have this sizzling chemistry on the first half of the series.

Music: Nothing memorable but catchy enough to move along with the music and the sound effects during the scenes with the main couple is appropriate and can give an exciting feeling to root for them.

Rewatch Value: I guess it’s not something that I would personally rewatch but I can totally recommend for people who wants to binge watch.

Overall: 8.5/10. Since I didn’t expect much on this series, I was quite surprised that I finished it in 2 days(of course I had to work and sleep). So, 2 days is quite fast for me. If I didn’t have work, I could finish this in one day, that’s how interesting it was. It’s not too deep but not too shallow as well. It just shows how the life of social media can turn you into an attention-seeking or social climber person. Of course, not everyone is like that, but even so, you would still question yourself, are you one of those people who will comment on random fights online like it would actually benefit you? Are you one of those who get easily convinced of the products endorsed by your idols? Are you one of those who want try or eat those popular food that’s been circulating around the web? It’s a thought-provoking series, however, it’s up to you to realize, if you are easily influenced by these type of advertisements or issues you see online. Just like social media, the series is just as shallow, but not in a bad way, it just represents how shallow the ‘life’ is online. Lastly, I think ‘influencer’ would be a better title.

Frustratingly tolerable

Plot: An introverted CEO fell in love with his former secretary’s younger sister and the story revolves around her family intertwined with his. There’s a so-called ‘twist’ by the end but nothing surprising. I tried not to judge too much as every individual has his or her own reasons for what he or she can/can’t take in life. Sometimes, what we can tolerate is not the same to everyone. If you start with that thought, then maybe, you’ll feel lighter when finding out the real reason of his former secretary.

Acting: Honestly, I struggled very much with the initial 6 episodes because the messy misunderstanding and ridiculous hiding face were the moments you just couldn’t help but ‘facepalm’. Anyway, thanks to their acting and my curiosity on how they will end up made me continue to watch the rest of the episodes. Luckily, it got tolerable and watchable at times. Everyone’s acting were great and convincing.

Music: The osts are pretty cute and catchy.

Rewatch Value: I personally won’t be rewatching the whole drama but I definitely rewatched every kissing scene of Yeon Woo Jin and Park Hye Soo because their chemistry is just fire. They have this unexplainable yet intense chemistry when they are together.

Overall: 7 stars for the acting and chemistry. I love the friendship of the two male leads(YWJ & YP) , the wonderful sibling love of Hwan Gi(YWJ) and Yi Soo(GSY) and the girls(PYS & JHJ) love-hate relationship/banter with each other. Despite the frustrating first few episodes and dull ‘twist’, I still ended up enjoying the whole series. After thinking about my ‘introverted’ friends and by putting myself in their shoes, the way they portrayed or how misunderstanding can happen is actually believable, however, they dragged it on which can be pretty frustrating to viewers. Therefore, I think long patience is really needed for you to watch and enjoy this drama.
