One thing stood out

This drama for me is nothing but ordinary. Although the plot, cast and theme slightly differ from the other Kdramas I have seen I still pursued and completed the series. It was only towards the end that character and lines reflected the realities of life in a captivating way. Other than that, I found the first episode a bit of drag and didn't leave viewers to anticipate for the next episode. It's the first drama I have seen where there are four guys fighting for one woman's affection/attention. I think it is far-fetched. The story dragged for quite a lot of episodes before the female lead could shed some light to the actual standing of all the 'men' in her life. The drama started in pursuit to produce a film that led to series of unfotunate events in the lives of people connected to the protagonist. Only one thing stood out, unfortunately!

Masterpiece

This kdrama is very special to me. It revived my literary passion and thoughts, while watching each episodes. It was an experience of being literally transported into the screen, watching the actors played their role and witness every gripping and heart wrenching episodes (especially EP 14). The running time for each episode is 1 hour but it feels like I have been watching it for too long, yet without feeling bored neither the need to speed up the scenes. To liken it to music, the tempo is just right to enjoy the lyrics. Yoo Ah-in's portrayal of the character is admirable. There was distinction of acting relevant to the era of the role. He imbibed the role of an author flawlessly. I like the smooth transition between era and how the missing pieces of the story is revealed. With all the Kdramas I've watched this by far stands out in terms of literary value. It's entertaining and engrossing. Although I don't necessarily believe in reincarnation, other themes related to integrity, friendship, living life, trust and forgiveness were impeccably wrapped and embodied in the lives of the character, plot and setting of the story. I am thankful that this appeared in the recommended dramas to watch.

Different Hospital Themed Drama

I have seen four hospital themed kdrama and I can say that each offered variety in different ways. I admire how the story highlighted the misconception we often have about someone who present themselves as nuisance to the society, rotten or misfit. It can be a source of encouragement to individuals who are facing the same predicament. I am certain that they could draw some sort of motivation to pursue their own path and overcome their challenges too. I am a sucker for this type of drama. I prefer watching 16-20 episodes knowing that it is worth my while. Many realities in life is presented in this drama too, like struggle for power, life and death, choices, victim mentality, self-confidence, dedication to the craft or profession, and life-balance to name a few. This drama is not that heavy to watch and not overly romantic (to some who would shy away from this genre). You won't see much gory scene unlike in other drama where there's a significant amount of scenes depicting scenarios in the operating and emergency room treating major wounds or operation. So if you are that person who prefers less of it, this one is for you. The ensemble in this drama is surprisingly good -- I have not seen the male lead actor in other drama yet deemed him right for the role. Although I have seen the female lead and supporting male/female actors in other dramas, they were able to provide or show a different spectrum in terms of their acting or portrayal of the roles. I would recommend this along with the other hospital dramas I have seen so far.

Legend with a Twist

Although I am not particulary into myths, this drama offers a different portrayal of the story. Old meets new kind of tale. It tackled many themes relating to relationship, value of life, family, death, life, and humanity. I think it is highly fictitious in many aspects of the story and theme. There was a balance of comic relief and sobriety that makes it easy to watch even though it is in conflict of one's personal belief or preference. Most part of the plot is too dark to my liking. The male and female lead actors complement each other in their portrayal of the character. The emotional ride while watching this drama is quite thrilling and far from boring. Each scene is unpredictable and makes you look forward to the next. Having said that, I am not sure to make out of the ending. I won't be surprised if there would be a sequel.

R & R [Refreshing & Romantic]

The best I like about this movie is how each character's lives are intertwined with the others and yet unaware of each others personal struggle. Something that we do not realize in our daily existence. We are quick to dismiss other's predicaments and consider our life's challenges the most overwhelming circumstance in the world. The plot elaborates this well without making it 'heavy drama'. The choice of location was stunning and apt. Brought the best of Yoo Yoon-seok's versatility. It's nice and refreshing to see yet another new skill well portrayed in the scene. He gives justice to every role he plays. The story line is not the typical and predictable in most stories. It tackled life stories (real to most people) with a different approach and scenario. The inclusion of diversity theme in the movie is appealing -- use of different language and origin. The casts played their respective roles naturally. I find the story overall...very heart warming.

Very True

I like the story and how it is presented, particularly the twist at the end. The character of Lee Kyung Young is like the personified thought that we battle with everytime we're presented with temptation. The story, plot and characters are very real, not like some dramas we watch where some scenarios are far-fetched. Since everyone can identify with the characters and the role they played, that twist in the plot made it very interesting.

I find the story very light and easy to watch. The support characters gave a bit of comedy -- the other patients in the same hospital room where Hyuk was confined and the boss in the large corporation was hilarious enough.

The lead actors were able to pull a more mature role compared to previous dramas they played. They portrayed it very natural.

A unique 'celebrity | star' drama

This Kdrama is not only swoonworthy but gives the viewers a lot of take-aways. For me, this drama reminds me of how important it is to be grounded and confident of your identity and individuality, so when you are at the pinnacle or hit rock bottom you can't easily be swayed by the many voices of lies and deceit that our minds are bombarded with and it serves as an anchor . This is such an eye-opener in many aspects. Like when things are tough and the outcome of our choices is unpleasant, we are not fully responsible of everything that has happened (unless it's a direct impact of your decision). We are often confronted by guilt and this is quite often a reaction to adverse situations as indirect outcome. The drama shows the reality we all go through, not only in entertainment industry, that there's always a pressure to rise to the top. How our desires consumes us changes the trajectory of our lives according to the decisions and choices we make in effect. More often these decisions are highly influenced by our hunger for fame, status and comfort. It is unfortunate that many still fall prey to the temporary gratification and lifetime effect it has over us and the people around us. Because our lives are intertwined, these kind of decisions has a negative ripple effect. I like how the title reveals many themes as the story takes a different turn, our lives is full of ironies, twist and turns too. Sometimes it throws lots of surprises and at times curveballs. How we deal (or embrace) is all about perspectives. Like practicing self-restraint does not necessarily means defeat rather a diffuser to avoid blowing things out of proportion. Hearing the right voices (e.g. truth, positivity, peace, etc) and heeding to it pays off.

On the other hand, I like the strong chemistry between the lead characters (Geung-yongand Whoon Joon). The scenes and episodes are seamless and transititoned smoothly. The scenic shots has an additional impact to the story. I like how the character plays out the role is so captivating and transports viewers in that moment of time and evoke the emotions according to the situations. This drama is like an easy read book -- it does not take long for the reader to see the meaning and themes between the lines. It just jumps out and hits you so real.

So captivating that I was able to complete 16 episodes in 2 days. This surely makes it as one of the highly recommended drama in my list. Too bad it's not in Netflix!

DIFFERENT and UNIQUE

I have seen at least three Hospital themed K-drama and I can say that this gives viewers a very balanced vibe when watching each episode. It still gives you a depiction of Hospital life and reality (I may be wrong in my assumption) yet has a twist that takes you with the characters as they shrug off and unwind from the burdens and stress their roles in the hospital. Music appeals to all and has a healing effect regardless of your background, experience and personality. Really good option to spice up the drama and present uniqueness.

What I like most about this drama is that they really played the instruments and sang in all the band meeting they had. Unlike other drama and characters, some are a quick shot or blurry image of them playing the instrument. Each instruments assigned to the characters suits them well. Oh, the repertoire....so good that I have it in my playlist (even though I rely heavily on subtitles). The OST is superb....no bad apple!

Another thing I like about this drama, is that each character has a different take on their role as doctors. Whilst some may be perceived lacking with passion -- just the same as dedicated to the profession and patients. The various scenarios presented in the hospital scenes gives viewers an opportunity to relate with their own experience or even understand what others' predicament may be.

Romantic aspect of the drama is presented in a well-balanced manner, without having to dilute the theme (hospital, music and relationships).

I can't wait for the next season!

What a way to start

Whoa! After much awaited release I am filled with excitement but didn't want to have high expectations for the first episode. But after 1hr, it just took me by surprise and literally screamed in excitement. What a way to start! As usual, the lessons imparted through this episode is valuable. I particularly would like to highlight the perspective of the two professors' -- Jung Won and Suk Hyung. Considering the role they portray, it is significant to note that they give their residents practical lessons that can't be learned in classroom neither books. I like how the song the band played complements the scene at the hospital (Gyeo Wool took the advice of Jung Won). This episode is filled with many reasons to look forward to the next one. It's such a pity that we get only one episode per week.
