1st K drama in a long time that I am disappointed in
When I read reviews, I want to give the series a benefit of the doubt, especially if it has bad ratings. So, thất was the case for this series. But, nah, I agree with the reviews and the low rating for this series. I felt that I took long to finish this series, due to the storyline of it. The twelve episodes felt longer and the only reason that I decided to give this series a go was due to the drama/ movie alphabet challenge as I needed a series that started with the letter Q. In all honesty, I should have watched something else.In these kinds of series, we are supposed to hate the villains- which I did. So, those actors portrayed their characters good, as well as the actress who was the owner of Solution. But for the main characters on the good side, they upset me from the first episode. I felt like I had more commonsense than them and the foolish things that they did. When you feel that they finally got the upper hand in the series, something happened that screws them over and they are back at square one. I just got annoyed over and over again when I was watching them. But in the end, good prevailed, leaving me only grateful that I was able to watch a series for the challenge and with the thought that I am finally done with them.
P.S- they really gave the villains the benefit of the doubt and that's why they were losing so much in the series.
PPS- so, the guy who murdered their first witness (who they told her that they would protect her if she testified?!!) is still out there, huh?
It had its moments.
This series is not perfect. It had its moments. This can be seen with Fourth and his role as Atom. I felt that he was close to giving the same energy that Michieda Shunsuke did as Aoki in the Japanese version. Him with the two supporting characters and their scenes together actually stole the series for me, specifically with Matmi as they were so cute together. And he also did an excellent job with his coming out scene to his mom that he even made me teary-eyed. Now, in all honesty, I did not feel that Gemini was a good Kongthap when I compare him to Meguro Ren as Ida. Something...just wasn't there for me in his character.I also felt like I was drowning with the introduction of so many supporting characters that at one point, I didn't care anymore. I just wasn't invested. The series also felt long and draggy that I actually identified two other episodes it could have ended at, and it would have still been a good series. But here we are at twelve episodes.
It was nice to get a longer storyline for Half and Matmi, because we are able to see more of them and the outcome of their relationship. I was super annoyed with the product placement, especially the contact lenses one. I don't know why; it just annoyed the heck out of me.
The music of course slaps and it was good seeing the Chinzhilla band in episode 11 from MSP. All in all, it was an okay series that unfortunately did not live up to the original Japanese version- BUT! It had its moments sprinkle here and there.
Simple movie with a weak love story and an easy murder mystery to solve
Netflix little blurb on this movie states " Romance, mystery and mayhem unfolds aboard a luxury liner heading for the Agean Sea, when a butler and a passenger try to solve a baffling murder.' With that little blurb as well as when I saw it being advertised, I took the opportunity to watch it today. And... well...it just did not live up to the expectations. Now, other murder mysteries that I watch, I just don't know who done the dirty deed. But I kid you not, LITTERALLY halfway through this movie, I realized who the murder was. I mean, another murder mystery that I watched some months ago, I And besides finding that out, I really did not like how some of the customers treated Ubukata. Like they could have appreciated him a bit more. And out of all the supporting character, I only really liked the kid- he seemed to have more common sense and a better grasp to like that the ML.
And then all the thing that Mr. Kuruma Michihiko and his wife did (making it look like Mr. Kurma was alive for so long until they announced he was dead, pushing down Sakumoto Kanatolike's mom like that after she found out the truth. Like they also should have been arrested and locked up until they returned to Japan. And well, the romance really was not as strong as I was expecting it to be. I mean, it was okay. Just not mind- blowing.
So, in the end I give this movie a 6.5. It had an interesting storyline that just wasn't formulated in an exciting way. The actors were okay (especially the young actor who plays Sakumoto Kanatolike).
Started good. Got muddled in the middle. Ended on an okay note.
When I started this series, I told myself that 'Maybe this was going to become my first ten for BL's this year!' This was my thought as it started off on an excellent note. But then, the middle happened.I have said this numerous times- I HATE miscommunication. And that is what happened in this series. When I thought that they were actually going to get together- you get miscommunication upon miscommunication. They see things, but never fully approach one another to clear it up. They (or mostly I guess Souta), takes things at face value and just believes what he sees until it is cleared up later. And by then, it's a wee bit too late for me to feel as happy as I did when I started watching this series for the two ML's. Honestly, I was personally getting annoyed with them.
But hey! They got thier happiness in the end and to see that Mahiro accepted Souta for the way he relieves his stress after working overtime, that's a plus for me.
So! Because of all of that, I am going to give this series a 7. I truly wished it was higher, but I just can't.
Sometimes I just need fluff
This was actually a well done fluff series. Everything was done well from the execution of the story( as everything seemed to flow seamlessly), to the talented actors who played thier roles so well and a cool OST. I am still amazed that not a single character annoyed me from the ML's to the supporting characters. I adored everyone of them so much! And this series is now my second 9.5 (my highest rating) for a BL this year. That's how much I enjoyed watching it. If you just want a cute fluff series, this right here is for you.
P.S- I know that I am gping to miss them so much.
I enjoyed the last four couples more than the first four
After having finished this series on Thursday (08th June), I am finally getting the time to write a review today (10th June). I actually need to write this review to know what my rating for this series will be. I would like to say that I was a huge fan of the first ': Our Skyy' anthology series (I gave it a 10 and no one can change my mind about it). So, I was super excited to hear we were getting another one with eight couples from previously aired series (except for 'A Boss and a Babe'. That was airing while this was airing too). And I just want to say that I wasn't a fan of four out of the eight series. And I guess, because of that, I really wasn't able to enjoy their stories as much as I did the last four couples (matter of fact I told myself that they saved the best for last with these four).Story-7.5/10 (when adding up all of the couple episodes)
Because it was eight different stories being told, I graded each story on their own and then added it up to get my final rating for this series.
Our Skyy 2: Never Let Me Go- The first in this anthology series was from 'NLMG'. I honestly did not like the series when I watched it (I had to watch it before OS2 premiered to prepare myself). I gave the original a 6/10. With that being said, I still kind of like this and the storyline was a bit different to any of what Thai BL series have offered to us so far (although I just recently saw someone may be doing an upcoming series like this soon). This was also one of the series where I was more invested in the secondary couples than the main couple. I am giving a 7/10 for their unique storyline and for their secondary characters, making this my fifth liked in this anthology series.
Our Skyy 2: Star in My Mind- I really, REALLY did not like this original series (I gave it a 5.5 and I preferred 'Star and Sky; Sky in Your Heart). So, I was a bit disappointed that it was being a part of OS2. I still watched it and...yup, this became my least liked in the whole anthology series for OS2. I didn't care for any of the couples AND I didn't like how they put one of the supporting characters who was wooing Daonuea previously in a relationship, as it felt a bit forced for me. So, I didn't like the storyline nor could any of the characters saved it for me. So, I gave it a 5.5, just like it's original series.
Our Skyy 2: The Eclipse- This was my sixth liked in the anthology series. I felt like I just wasn't able to grasp it as much as I thought I could. But I did love the supporting characters and it was nice to see them again. As such, I gave this a 6.5/10.
Our Skyy 2: Vice Versa- I'm going to be honest here. I felt I would have liked this if I didn't watch the original series. And because I did, I really wasn't that excited in watching it and honestly, I felt bored. This is my seventh liked in the eight couples and I will give a rating of 6/10, just because it did not draw me in when I was watching it.
Our Skyy 2: My School President- I saw a lot of comments from people who did not like this series, as they felt robbed. I am basically the opposite because I actually liked how they did a multi universe and told us this is how it would happen in this universe. All of the characters still had their chemistry and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was my third liked and I give this an 8.5/10.
Our Skyy 2: A Boss and A Babe- As was previously stated, this was airing while this anthology series was also airing. I wasn't in that big of a rush to watch it, but when I saw that it was apart of OS2, I buckled down and started to watch it. And imagine my surprise, because I actually liked this series. And OS2: A Boss and a Babe did not disappoint me. This was my fourth like din the whole series and I gave it an 8/10.
Our Skyy 2: Bad Buddy- I was super excited to see these guys again. And while I was a bit annoyed of the fact, they did a cross-over and unlike the previous episodes, they didn't have two full episodes for themselves, I have now come to the conclusion that this was actually a good move. I give them a 9/10. Also, I am going to miss these boys so much.
Our Skyy 2: ATOTS- I told myself this before I watched this seirs and I am saying it now- they knew what they did by leaving ATOTS last (because they saved the best for last). And while many of us may have found them to be a bit childish, we kind of know the reason now. I felt that they got the better ending and story. Except for a small flaw I had, I gave them a 9.5/10.
Acting/Cast-8/10
I actually have no flaws with the acting. I felt that they all did a stellar job in what they were given to work with. As such, I give them an 8/10.
Music-9/10
The music did not disappoint at all. It was nice hearing new songs. And then to hear the opening OST again just brought back memories to me. As such, I will give a 9/10.
Rewatch Valu-7.5/10
I actually do see myself rewatching this (especially the last four couples). I know that I really won't watch Star in My Mind, because as I have previously stated, I just don't like the original and was not feeling this at all. But I actually do see myself watching the other seven couples, especially Vice Versa and The Eclipse because maybe if I watched them over, I may give them a higher rating.
Overall-8/10
Overall, I liked this series and I know that I will miss some of the characters. And GMMTV has made it easy for some of us who don't want to watch all sixteen episodes where we can choose to watch whatever couples we want to.
From FWB to a happy ending!
Let me start off by saying this- I shockingly actually like this. Is it perfect? No. Is it getting a perfect score from me? Absolutely not- it's not wven getting a 9. But out of the three Thai BL series that I have been watching for 2 months now (Chains of Heart, Love Syndrome III and this)- this one is actually the better one out of those 3.Story- 8/10
I give this series an 8 out of 10 because y'all had my boy Uea go through hell and back. He really didn't have itveasy with a sh#$y crappy mom, a crappy ex-bf, a predatory step dad AND boss. Like- he couldn't catch no break. But he actually got one in the form of King. King may have started off as a Casanova but over the episodes you can see how much he cared for Uea. Would I have liked for them to suffer more? Yeah, I actually would because I felt the four of them (ex-bf, ex boss, mom and step dad) were kind of let off easily and they deserved to be punished. And I was so happy that King's parents accepted Uea as thier aon's boyfriend and then fiancée because I would have thrown a fit if they had to go through another obstacle.
And while I usually quarrel about what was the point of the last episode because it really did not add to the series- I'm not going to do that here. Why? Because Uea deserve his happiness and that's what basically that last episode was about (plus we get to see a few seconds of Mai. And now I am eagerly awaiting for 'Middelman's Love!').
Acting/Cast- 9/10
Hey, all the actors portraying these characters made me feel how I believe they wanted me to feel (extreme hate for Uea's mom and step dad, happy at seeing Jade, sad/upset at Uea's storyline, etc). And because they were able to make me feel all of these emotions through thier acting, I'm giving them a 9.
Music-8/10
The music was addictive every week and for that I'm going with an 8.
Rewatch Valu-8/10
I do actually see muself rewatching this in the future. Because as stated befor, it had a good storyline with good actors.
Overall-8.5/10
Overall I give this series an 8.5. And as I stated before this is really due to the storyline and the actors. Some of the NC-17 was a little bit ridiculous to me and really did nothing for me.
While it had its moments, I felt that it was missing something
I honestly binge watched this series because of Our Skyy 2, which premieres on Wednesday. The MC here will be the first couple. And...what I thought I was going to get, I felt that this series kind of fell short on.I mean, the acting is good and the music is addictive. But the storyline wasn't presented properly as it felt choppy in certain parts. Also, some of the things that were happening just made me want to scream.
And then, unfortunately, I didn't click or feel something for nearly all of the characters. Only one character I can say that I really cared for and that was Palm's mom. She admitted that she was selfish, yet she still loved her son. Heck! She gave up her life for Palm and Neuengdiao. Also, I was getting a wee bit bored with those last three episodes. And then that ending for me? Yeah....personally I just wasn't feeling it.
My overall score is 6/10. And here's hoping the two special episode from Our Skyy 2 will make me fall for these characters .
Not as good as the other 2moons, but better than some other Thai BL's I watched in 2022
I started watching this series as basically as a pity watch- because I really did not see many people talking about it when it aired on Twitter as well as the comments section here. And I must say- I was a bit shocked as it wasn't really that bad. Yes, out of the three 2 Moons I have watched, this is the one with the lowest ratings. But to compare it to at least 3 Thai BL's I watched last year (Ai Long Nhai, Fahlanruk and CoffeeMelody), this was actually a bit better than them.Story -6/10
I honestly did not care about what happened to the previous 6 men we were introduced to in 2 Moons and 2Moons2. And, also, to be honest, with this being the third set of actors portraying these characters, I was not that invested in them when thier stories were being told as I actually tuned out.
The only thing that interest me was the relationship between Tarntatch and Lomnaw. And I must admit that in the beginning, I didn't like Lomnaw, but he grew on me. I really didn't like the so-called 'obstacles ' that they went through. But I guess that was used to being th closer and show how much they love each other. So, just because of Tarntatch and Lomnaw, I'm giving this story a 6.
Acting/Cast-5/10
I feel like my rating is actually a bit too high for them. But, once again, I am giving this rating due to Tarntatch and Lomnaw 's chemistry together. Because, yes, they actually DID have chemistry together unlike the other 6 main actors.
Music-6/10
The music was, shockingly, a bit okay for me. As such, I am giving a 6/10.
Rewatch Valu-4/10
While I do like the chemistry between Tarntatch and Lomnaw, I do not see myself watching this series anytime soon. This was due to the fact that everything else was not able to keep my attention. As such, my rewatch valu is a 4.
Overall-5.5/10
Overall, I give this series a 5.5. I was impressed with the actors who portrayed Tarntatch and Lomnaw due to the chemistry that they had with each other. Matter of fact, I actually believe that if this series had focus mainly on Tarntatch and Lomnaw as well as develop on Lomnaw's friend relationship with who he ended up qith in the end, it would have been a better series. Just solely because of these two actors, I am giving this series a 5.5.
The Revenge plot is the best thing about this series
I wanted something to watch and was going through recommendations that MDL was suggesting to me and came upon this series. I was a little put off as it is 27 episodes and I am not a fan of series with so much episodes. However! I started it and was wrapped up in the story of Tor/ Sila and the revenge that he wants to get against those who tortured him when hw was younger. And...I was entertained. When Sila was in his revenge mode, this series was at its best. Yes, I agree that there are some things that he did that I totally do not agree with ( sleeping with Min's sister , Khawn, to get his revenge on her). But other than that, Sila was excellent in his revenge plot.
However, from episode 22, that's when I started to loose interest. And that's because the love story starts to take centre stage and where Min and Mam tells Sila to not continue with his revenge. And this series shows me that in revenge stories, I only want to focus on revenge and not on the love story.
Because of how the love storyline takes centre stage, everything wraps up in a happy ending where everyone forgives everyone (well, at least, those who are alive) and leaves me a tad bit dissapointed.
The actor who plays Sila really carried this series and was the reason why I continued on. I was naturally annoyed with the FL from the beginning to the end because she just took everything that her stepmom and sis did to her. In the end, I give this an overall rating of 7.5/10.
While it's not the best Korean BL out there, it's also not the worst
Another series has been completed. And while it wasn't what I was expecting, I can say that I liked it to a degree. It started off drawing in my attention, getting a little muddled in the middle and, personally to me, ended on an okay note.Could it have been better? Most definitely. But I must say, the ending isn't really predictable (a HEA) and I guess that's why I like it.
Pros (with some spoilers):
♡ The acting of the MC was good in all of the episodes as they were able to carry me on an emotional journey.
♡ Learning about the past lives of Min Yu Dam and Seol Dong Baek gave us an understanding on why the director was doing what he was doing.
♡ The ending also went a different direction that I thought it would as now Seol Dong Baek is the one who knows about the past life when he didn't previously. And now it is him who willingly wants to date the director and not leaving it up to destiny.
Cons (with spoilers):
♡ Character development or in this case the lack of it
♡ What was the purpose of Dennis character? Cause he had some serious issues that needed to be resolved and he needed professionally help for those issues.
♡ And what does Dennis mean tha Min Yu Dam uses people? Was...was he and Dennis an item previously? Or he felt that Min Yu Dam used him professionally and was now getting ready to replace him with a new act?
♡ In the early part of the series, something possessed Seol Dong Baek. What the heck was it, because that wasn't explained properly.
At the end, I give this series a 7.5. It had potential. It just was ot able to met it.
I'm gonna miss this series
Can't believe that it's over! Two months gone- just like that! And the ride that this series carried me on! What a journey!Story-9/10
This was an amazing story that just left me shock week after week and made me eager to see what would happen the following week. Sometimes when you think it's going to go one way- a curveball is thrown just to blow you away. And it was also so good to see that all of the bad guys got their just desserts in the end. I couldn't give it a full 10 due to these two major things- the characters of Kim Ga On and the portrayal of Yoon Soo Hyun.
Kim Ga On's character was easily persuaded by any individual once they say 'Yeah, this is what happened.' And that what annoyed me a bit. I thought that maybe, just MAYBE he wasn't that gullible (or some might say trustworthy) to believe basically what anyone says. He was a lawyer. His character needed to be more analytical as he needed to think with his brain and not with his emotions. Basic knowledge is that there are three sides to a story- the two people who are telling the story and the truth. That's just plain common sense (this also goes for his teacher, Min Jung Ho).
What also got to me (even though I cried when she died) was that they basically used the fridging trope on Yoon Soo Hyun. Fridging is the practice of killing off or hurting a minor character (yes, I know she is a main character in this series, but it still works) in order to motivate or torture a main character. And it can clearly be seen here. We don't really get any in-depth background story from her character except for she went to school with Kim Ga On and loves him and that she's a cop. We don't have any background story of her life. And because they used this trope and didn't develop her properly, I am clearly annoyed.
Acting/Cast-10/10
Everyone's acting was amazing. There were characters who I hated with a passion from the beginning to the end. Some characters I felt were even able to redeem themselves (there were two female characters who annoyed me, but in the end they changed my perspectives on them). this series makes me want to see more series that stars Ji Sung, cause his acting was phenomenal. I also felt that Park Jinyoung's acting is improving as he is taking up more series and different characters every time.
Music-10/10
The music is beautiful and top notched!
Rewatch Valu-9/10
Okay. Here what- I'm going to give this a 9. Cause there were a few things that annoy me, but this series was still excellent. So, I do want to rewatch it, but still have to gear myself to watch it again.
Overall-9.5/10
Overall, it was an excellent series that I did enjoy. And I would most definitely recommend this to other viewers.
Yes, it was a slow burn. But I still enjoyed it!
I have now finished Be Loved in House: I Do and I must say...I did enjoy it. I can see why people do not like it. However, I can see why people do. It does have it flaws. But as I have stated on numerous occasions, all BL's have flaws. Sometimes it might not be that big of a deal to the viewers while other times...yeah. That wasn't so much the case for me, though.Story-7.5/10
I'm giving it a 7.5. Yes, it was slow paced that I will say I was annoyed in the beginning due to the fact that from episode three onwards it was one episode per week. However, something was there to keep my interest every week. Also, Shi Lei's mom was phenomenal for the episodes that she was there. She was so supportive and accepting to Shi Lei that it made me want to see supportive parents in other Taiwanese BL (*cough cough* looking at you HIStory franchise *cough cough*). And I must say, it was a nice journey for me to see these boys fall for each other, but not admitting it to each other.
I was actually surprised by the secondary BL couple Yan Zhao Gang and Wu Si Qi and how fast they progressed. That shocked me a bit. Also, I will say this- it was nice watching a series with no annoying ex (he was actually kind of the hero in this series) and no annoying female who likes on of the ML (I actually thought it was going to happen, but it didn't. And I was glad for that!)
Acting- 8/10
The acting was good, I must say. I enjoyed it. They were able to tell a story. I felt the emotions that Shi Lei was going through when he and his mother was talking. Good acting all around!
Music-10/10
I don't care what anyone says. The music was slapping. and I know that I am going to miss the hell out of it!
Rewatch Valu-7/10
Hmm. After some thoughts, I think I can give it a 7. This is due to the fact that there was some good scenes in this series that I don't mind watching again. Also, I liked the chemistry between Shi Lei and Jin Yu Zhen.
Overall-8/10
As I have said before- yes this series is slow paced, so it may not be for everyone. Heck, it annoyed me in the beginning. But something was there to make me keep coming back every week to watch it. so! If you like a slow paced BL, I would most definitely recommend this to others.
I was entertained the majority of the time
I would like to start off by saying that I never watched the original, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I would like to add the definition of what the word 'remake' means, cause some of you in the comments seem not to know the definition of this word.A remake is a production of a film, television series, video game, or similar form of entertainment that is based upon an earlier production. A remake tells the same story as the oribut uses a different cast and may alter the theme or target audience. So basically, don't look for anything drastically new is what I take it to mean.
Story-8/10
I actually like the storyline. However, I have to take away some points due to some episodes I felt were fillers and really didn't add to the story. Also, sometimes Tin's character annoyed me...like a lot. I felt episodes thirteen and fourteen did nothing for me. And because of the reasons listed, I gave the story an 8.
Acting/Cast- 8/10
While everyone's acting was good and there were a few moments Edan and Anson's characters shined, I felt that an 8 would suffice for the acting/cast as no one really shined for me to draw me in and wow me in this series.
Music-10/10
The music is a bop and I will give that a 10 all the way!
Rewatch Valu-6.5/10
I gave this on the lower side, cause while I may want to watch it sometime soon in the very distant future, I am currently not that eager to watch it right away.
Overall-8/10
All in all, I liked this series. It entertained me from Mondays to Fridays these past three weeks and I enjoyed watching it.
6 couple stories in one 20 minutes episodes per couple is clearly the issue here
This mini series gave us the lives of six different couples in six twenty minutes episodes (one episode per couple). It was truly entertaining to see what stoey each couple would bring.Story-7.5/10
What this series tried to attempt was the telling of six couples in the space of just twenty minutes per episode per couple. So, of course, time was an issue in telling these couples story. Four out of the six couples (episodes three to six) they were able to achieve this somewhat, but I still believe that with more time, they may have been able to flesh out the storyline. The other two (first and second episodes) while they were not as strong as the other episodes, I still enjoyed them.
Acting/Cast-8/10
I felt that everyone's acting was well done. And yes, even Ohm/Fluke and First/Ja's acting. So for that I gave it an 8.
Music-7.5/10
The music was beautiful and mesmerising. For that I give it a 7.5/10
Rewatch Valu-7.5/10
In all honesty, I'm not tha eager to rewatch this whole series. Episodes four to six- sure! They were excellent and I don't mind watching them over and over again.
Overall-7.5/10
It was an okay series. Time is clearly the issue here for telling the stories of these six couples. All in all I can say that I was entertained.
