Heesooks and Taesungs relationship kind of reminded me of Flat. Theyre both younger male/older female stories where the guy has been crushing on the girl since high school. Back then it was just a one sided crush but now that the characters are older its starting to become requited. Apart from that theyre both cute short mini dramas that you can find on youtube.
both are feel good/ cute romances between two men that end happily and both are short movies by lgbt focused movie companies that often even like work together.
both japanese short movies follow high school students who are bored of the small town they live in and their uneventful life. There is a focus on friendship and youth. And so we put goldfish in the pool is way more 'loud' and out there with its editing etc while She's Gone is more quiet (and kinda confusing tbh..)
both chinese movies from the 90s have a chinese opera element (Farewell my Concubine revolves heavily around Chinese opera and in Raise the Red Lantern one of the characters was an opera singer) and that connection to opera also shows in the osts. The stories start in the 1920s where our main protagonists get send off by their mothers, have a kind of betrayal element and dont end happily. Also Dong Li stars in both films.
both are lgbt short movies with a focus on friendship and romance. One of the characters gets messaged by somebody of the opposite gender which causes some drama. Both movies also take place in summer.
Both are short movies that have a focus on romance and friendship. The main characters go from friends to lovers.
They revolve around totally different things but are both kinda bizarre and unique in the best way possible. Also all the cast members from Girls on Top (in front and behind the camera) appear in Maggie too.
both are lgbt movies whose main characters are high school students. They focus on love and friendship and have a summery feel.
Both thai shows focus on mutiple characters and their stories/struggles etc.. they have similar themes of jealousy, hatred, revenge, consequences of actions and how things can easily sprial out of control etc and have a similar feel to me. The characters that connect all the story (in GFN Nanno and in AGTTPYH the shop owner) are supernatural and hard to define beings that are seemingly immortal. Girl from Nowhere is alot more episodic though.
Both are romantic short movies that have a photography element. Two Lights is alot sweeter and fluffier but both are nice.
they both have supernatural and horror elements and focus on a m/m relationship. They are darker than your usual shows/movies and also both kinda confusing.
the last story of girl from nowhere kind of reninded me of girls in the dark. The characters all have secrets and are all unreliable narrators. Both stories are filled with lots of turns and twists and even the endings are kind of similar.
