Grande Masterpiece

I've never come across such a drama that blew my mind completely.
The great white tower is such a high-class socio-political drama.

You can divide this drama into 3 parts :
1. Power Struggle
2. Ego accompanied by forced melodrama
3. Life

This drama is a perfect example of Dilbert's principle, which in simple terms states that a talented person will hardly find a position at the top.

Part 1 is exceptional in every way, all the matters shown in that regard are so progressive and real that you can't help but clap and be impressed with it.
It deals with how climbing with the top isn't easy. How little control you've over everything.
Politics is present everywhere.
People are jealous of those who are talented.

Part 2 is forced and often turned to a melodrama by showcasing that the sense of justice is relentless.
I didn't like part 2 as it was cynic, the writer was evident in showing that no matter what wrong might've been caused, karma always bites back.
This is not right, coz what the writer showed in the 1st part was so great that the 2nd part just fell off the cliff.

Part 3 is self-realization bout life, as a person and as a doctor perhaps but more important than that as a human being Life is important, you never know when you'll die.
So learn to express and take care of those who are near you. ^^

Overall it fits a perfect 9, the reason being when you're focusing on such a high-class politics why involved a social message with melodrama in the 2nd half, as a person who loves to watch the clever theme, this ruined the theme for me.
It could've been introduced in a much better way.

PS: Special mentions to the acting and the soundtrack.
One of the greatest and legendary casting in any J drama you'll ever come across. The acting standards of this drama are so high, that none can come near this.
The soundtrack was so classy and melodious to hear.
At each and every moment I could feel the intensity of this drama.
I can bet, the standard of J dramas have gone down nowadays.
Who even a drama from 2003 represented the true potential of how exceptional J drama were at the time .

" BEYOND PERFECTION AND GREATNESS "
If I could describe this in two words , it's the ultimate GEM .
If you are looking for a drama that coveys the real meaning of friendship along with romantic or non romantic love .
What role do friends play in your life ? What impact and difference can their presence make in your life ? Then this is it .

The Diversity Of Characters is it's Greatest Strength .
4 Friends , Along with their Partners(Female) .
Each one of them so different from each other , so much that there's a huge diversity in their characteristic and behavior .
The relationship b/w all the 4 couples are different and the way they are connected to each other makes this drama a class apart .
This will give you answers to some points you often would have had while growing up about friendship , love and living .

This is the best slice of life . Tackles many realistic situations with an adult way and also silly ways . xD
Generally men are hesitant to show emotions in friendship and all .
The act of masculinity takes over .
This drama justifies to men's emotions .
Even we are humans xD

A MUST WATCH LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE . ^_^

If I wanna Rate it Anyways then
1000000/10
Hell yeah , Let the debate begin !!
This is my all time Fav K-Drama I can assure .

A potentially failed project that could've been alot better

You know what this drama is like a college community project.
It's good in pieces.
The cinematography is just outstanding, and the idea has potential but the final screenplay is a messy sh8t, the dialogues fail this on a mega level, combined with eccentric acting from the actors.

The strength and weakness of this drama are the same, it's the tempo.
It's paced like a real-life scenario with day-by-day progression.
Once you see it through this lens, you'll like it instead of going after its flaws.
But the question ends up until when?
It doesn't pace up at all, which becomes annoying in the end.
There's nothing that keeps this drama together as a unit.

I watched 10 episodes, and I'm dropping it.

It was good till it lasted.
I'm gonna follow up with the director and the writer for this drama on other projects, these guys do have potential.

PS: I don't agree with the lead review on this drama that it was too negative, these are wishy-washy people who always want an escape dream fantasy plot whereas this drama feels too real.

INSANITY WASTED

Yeah, the words INSANITY WASTED pretty much describes this drama.
I won't highlight the spoilers, but all I can tell you about this drama is that it's a waste of time.

This should've been a movie, 10 episodes are far too much for a plot like this.
The drama starts in a cool way but then falls quite quickly.
There's a lack of stability, the direction is poor and on top of that the storytelling is ridiculous.
Far too many loopholes and all of it combined, sh*tty social justice theme makes it absurd.

The writer/mangaka must be high on w**d .

You can watch it , but there's nothing to the plot, it keeps going on in circles.
And by the time you finish it you realize it's just another straightforward plot, twisted deliberately to present it suspensefully.

The writer could've done a lot better .

The plot degrades very quickly. The dialogues are here and there, Especially Kim Sun Ah's dialogue.
It started well, had so much potential and then Kim Sun Ah's character had a drastic drop in quality.
Either she messed up her acting halfway through or more like her character went total rubbish.
I think it's the writer's fault. When you have created such good characters initially, what felt so short then?
They could've easily progressed much better.
The daughter's character is forced and irrational at times.
The best friend couple is too fake to watch,
And our protagonist is a guilt machine. I did this, I did that. Dude you did nothing, people commit wrong every day, just to attain happiness.

I had a particular interest in his ex-wife's character but her screentime was too short.
She acted phenomenally.
A decent watch. but I couldn't complete it.
Kam Woo-sung was exceptional as he's always.

3 stages of this drama Fantastic => Mediocre => Rubbish.
