The director’s little sister comes home pregnant, deciding to be an un-wed single mom. Her mother defends her while her father becomes sour. The little sister decides to raise the child in Canada as she never felt welcome in her parent’s homeland, South Korea. Through precious home video footage and the director’s personal journey of rediscovering the lives of family members, this film focuses on a family’s history of reverse migration from Canada to South Korea. Complicated issues of identity, belonging, and social norms are addressed while following a family’s struggle to overcome past wounds and the challenges of raising a new baby outside of the traditional family form.
