lets see... how can i put all the emotions into this review and yet not make it loose..i had this movie in my "to watch list" for some time now, before it was officially released and i have to confess it was because of the cast, i mean look at it, we got Jin Goo ( whom i just saw in small roles till now) who got his own colors in acting alongside Kim Mu-Yeol, just another great muscular actor ( he is from my beautiful bride and omg his action and emotional acting was superb), the image itself simply fits the characters.
i have to make it spoiler free so i'm just gonna give u a tiny bit of the storyline, its the type that shows you the hard work that soldiers put into defending their countries, it shows how they rely on each other there and make you realise what true meaning of a comrade is, a nation's battles are not fought by either flawless heroes or by oppressed victims.Rather the film presents a ship's crew that is both a proud and disciplined unit controlled by a hierarchical order of command and a group of individuals with their own ambitions, dreams, fears, friendships, and dislikes.
The combat scenes are presented with a candor and explicitness about what war is really like-- the chaos, the terror, the determination, the failures and bitter costs
i loved this movie because of how real it was, u will not be disappointed.
i've gave it a 9 overall , and i'm a really really picky viewer.
(it was my first review so excuse me if its not that professional~ )

I cried so much watching this that I don't think I have any tears left to spill.
These brave men stood in the eye of the storm, those that didn't survive will be remembered with honour. They left behind their loved ones but we shall never forget them.
The dead were Lt. Cmdr. Yoon Young-ha, Jo Cheon-hyung, Seo Hoo-won, and Hwang Do-hyun (during the battle), Park Dong-hyuk (days later), and Han Sang-guk (found at sea); Eighteen others were injured.

A MUST-SEE !
The story is based on a real story which makes the story highly interesting. I really like the fact it was very realistic which is normal since it is based on a real story. It really is not boring at all. It is the type of story I truly enjoy because it is entertaining and educational at the same time. Frankly speaking, it is impossible to complain about the story !I also have no complain about the acting. The acting is superb, the main actor Lee Hyun Woo is such a good actor !
The music also goes well with the movie.
Overall, everything is good wich is why I recommend it, it is honestly a very good movie, a movie we should not miss!

Could not connect with it
There were some good parts that I (objectively) could tell were good moments of build-up or touching moments, but for some reason I was never able to fully connect with (and distinguish between, tbh) all of the characters. For that reason it also just felt like the movie was a little longer than it had to be — a lot of it was about people I didn't really care much for.
I think perhaps I've just seen too many war movies and this one didn't do anything different, so nothing about it stood out to me (other than the fact that there was no plot armor for the main characters, one thing I appreciated).
