Very well made and unique series.
A man working as a courier who will do everything except murder is given the task of finding out detailed information about the reporter whom he will eventually find out that they have a common past. This is probably Ji Chang Wook's most versatile work as an actor. Screenwriter Song Ji Na was able to beautifully combine humor and action and capture realistically evolving relationships between the main cast. The plot didn't drag on unnecessarily either and its occasional complexity managed to attract the attention of the viewer. I also have to praise the action scenes - they didn't seem to be too over the top, and they looked realistic (in my opinion) which is often not the case with Korean dramas. The series was pleasant to me, given the fact that the show aired in 2014 and even now, in 2022, the show remains unique with it's originality. Was this review helpful to you?
Healer is an entire package of awesomeness,it has the best combination of genres i always look for(Action, suspense,Mystery, romance and handsome oppa :P).The concept of night courier is entirely new to me.The first few episodes really amazed me as this was my first time watching something like that. The plot was well developed and i was hooked to the drama to see more of the male leads handsomeness.
Ji Chang Wook oppa is definitely a scene-stealer for me(I ended up watching other dramas of his).Whenever he is on screen i always wondered about how great of an actor he is.He delivered each emotion perfectly. He was innocent, cute, sweet, hot, athletic, emotional, chic, naive and a complete heartthrob. The female lead has a strong personality. As episodes went by i started liking her more and more for all the braveness her character showed. Both of their chemistry is beyond this world. They were sweet together and whenever they were together, they gave away couple goals. They were just meant to meet.
Doesn't matter if you are new to dramas or have some experience in drama watching,Healer should definitely be added to your must watch list and you won't regret it after marking a tick against the completed box .About re-watching this drama, you will eventually do it after watching the lead couples cute and sweet moments together.
Healer opened up the world of dramas to me .Hence,it will forever occupy a special place in my heart.

the best kdrama
For me the best kdrama to watch... the storyline, the acting skills of both the ma8n actors, their chemistry in undeniable. A great story of a "lost" soul and a girl who came accross to change his heart and destiny...Simply the story focuses on the main characters and their stories.their feelings are portrayed throughout the whole story.
the storyline is unique and wholesome except the action scenes that are very strong and worth watching, the love story is creating a unique atmosphere
10/10 for me....

In terms of story, I would have to wrack my brain to find any flaws in it. When the storyline in your typical thriller would start dropping at episode 10, this drama just keeps going. The pacing never fails. Where you would expect cracks to emerge in the main couple’s relationship, the writer instead takes the opportunity to show the audience that this is a couple to get behind and cheer on.
Admittedly, up till about episode 10, I didn't actually love the show that much, but thankfully the story picked up and pushed through to reach the pace and excitement that this show promised.
So many delightful characters and relationships in this show that are well-developed and evolve through the show. Because I don’t want to spoil it, I can’t reveal my favourite relationship that moved me the most. But my favourite character is Moon-ho, played by Yoo Ji Tae. I don’t know how much credit goes to the writer and how much goes to the actor, but I do love Yoo Ji Tae’s charisma, which just shines off my computer screen.
Yoo Ji-tae is just perfect in this show - perfectly cast and played the role so well. Park Min-young seems to excel at everywoman roles.
It’s a pity that a better actor was not cast for the role of Moon-shik, who would otherwise be a worthy adversary to Moon-ho. The actor cast in this case was pretty stone-faced and wasn’t very menacing for a villain. In any case, Moon-shik is a pretty fascinating character.
All in all, a freaking exciting show to watch.

Not once did I feel that there were parts that it was lagging and I felt each episode helped to push the story along. The action scenes were cool, but the show wasn't just fight scenes, there were cute scenes that had me giggling and cheering for my OTP, as well as funny scenes that helped to lighten the mood.
The choice in actors/actresses was perfect. The couple had amazing chemistry and they were so great together. Ji Chang Wook now has a new fan because of this and Park Min Young was a total cutie.
I loved the soundtrack! There was one song that they played whenever the couple was having a sweet moment (watch it and you will know what song) and because of it I now associate sweet romance with this song.
Rewatch it? Um, of course! I will totally rewatch this.
Overall, this is now my favorite drama. After the ending of each episode I just wanted more. It perfectly mixed action and suspense with cuteness and romance. It had everything that I loved and I am so glad I gave it a shot.

I applaud the director because even if the actors were horrible and the story was mediocre (which is far from true), the directing would have made the show at least half decent.
The story is perfectly put together, and I especially like the lack of the most frustrating k-drama clichés, mainly the lack of understandings in the love-line. I have never found a more perfect couple who are not in any way generic of k-drama. Their individual personalities are perfect and quirky whereas usually there tends to be a more passive character. Their chemistry was off the scales and as much as you want to cringe at how adorable they are, it seems too genuine and honest. The romance isn't over-whelming and the non-romantic, platonic and familial relationships are just as beautiful. The psychological aspect of the story is also very well executed in the bad characters and plot.
The OST through is brilliant and you'll find yourself falling in love with it and getting excited for scenes when it plays, rather than the usual annoying OSTs that you just want to stop. (e.g. LOVE IS THE MOMMEEENNNTTT)
Overall, I wish I could give this over 10 and I 4982787854294758268% recommend that you watch it.

Story: 10/10
I don't know what it is about the story of Healer that just made it so great. Maybe it was because it kept me on my seat every episode, maybe it was because of the shocking twists and turns that had occurred, or maybe it was because of the beautiful and fantastic writing. The story is very different from anything I have ever watched, Healer has a genre for everyone from; romance to action to comedy and a drama. Everything a K-drama fan wants, is in this amazing show, that is called Healer.
Acting/Cast: 10/10
There is no doubt in my mind that the reason that Healer was so successful is because of the characters and the cast. Every-time something would happen to our characters I would cry with them for at least a good five minutes or be crying on the floor laughing. Ji Chang Wook and Park MIn Young were absolutely amazing playing Seo Jung Hoo and Chae Yeong Shin, their chemistry between the both of them was undeniable and every little scene that had happened would make me fangirl with joy because of how cute everything was.
Music: 9.5/10
The music for me was perfect. Every time a song would come on you knew that song was perfect for the scene. I swear ever-time a song would come on I would be singing along because of how catchy they are.
Rewatch Value: 10/10
There is no doubt in my mind that rewatching Healer is a must to do. There is no doubt that I will be watching Healer again in the future and will be watching over and over again because of how amazing it is
Overall: 10/10

The story was great with an excellent mix of action, and romance (wouldn't mind more of that). It was very well executed, and gave me the feeling that the story line was really thought out and the writer had everything planned, unlike some dramas where you feel like its been dragged out or rushed. The characters also felt well developed. Although most dramas might have one or two characters that annoy me, I didn't actually feel like I hated any of Healer's, which I attribute to a combination of great writing and acting.
I loved the casting choices with the drama, especially Ji Chang Wook. I hadn't noticed him too much before, but I absolutely fell in love with him with this drama! His performance was amazing and he simply just owned his character. Whether it be the action involved with 'Healer', or the adorable 'Bong Soo', JCW really captivated my heart with his acting. Park Min Young was great as well, the leads made me love both of their characters so much and the chemistry between them was so strong. I loved the romance that played out and the cuteness in that. But beyond the leads, all the supporting characters were great as well, which made the drama much more touching since you could really feel for the characters.

This will be a very short review: By far the best Korean drama I've watched so far - and I watched a decent number of them.
This drama has everything: breath-taking story, very good acting, music much above average, overall a very well calculated entertainment value.
Pace - In my personal experience, this was closest to perfection in terms of pace. I'm a marathon person. So I just sit down and watch all episodes in 40 hours or so. As a result, in most dramas, I lose interested after watching the two thirds of the episodes - so you have no choice but fast forward those exaggerated scenes full of staring and misunderstandings. This wasn't the case for Healer, the story was breath-taking from the beginning to the end. Let me add that the story captures you from the first episode onwards - which is somewhat rare also in Korean dramas in my opinion.
Cliches - There is a decent amount of cliches in the drama which are used smartly. so it captures both the new-comers to Dramaland as well as seasoned watchers who are tired of the cliches. I was especially happy because there were minimum number of misunderstandings and actual communication!
Love - Awesome dosage to my taste! Not sticky, boring love but also not one of those that make you go rrrrrrrrr at the end due to unsatisfaction. Let me add that the presence of SEX (finally in a Korean drama) is one of the reasons I rated it so highly. Enough with the 15 year-old approach to love and sex. The one and only sex-oriented and somewhat erotic episode is not overdone at all, but just the right dosage.
Female lead - This is important. You don't have the traditional idiotic female lead - which is somehow associated with innocence and purity. No, female leads don't have to be complete idiots to be cute and attractive and thank god we have a mart one here.
Male lead - Ehm... Well, I'm a straight woman so the "eye candy" element is crucial for me. And oh yeah I was satisfied! :) no more comments on this...
Acting - Much much above average, one of the best I've watched so far!! I wouldn't expect this much from Ji Chang Wook, I was very very surprised! And of course, chapeau to ahjumma! Brava!
Still I couldn't cover everything but I can't write forever. So if you're reading this to decide about watching or not, stop reading and start watching. Definitely I'll be watching again in a few months.
Thank you for everyone who worked on this drama to bring it to its current quality level! Hallyu wave owes you guys big time! =))

An average drama
I wasn't going to write a review initially, but seeing how this drama gets so much praise I decided to put my opinion out there to see if more people have a similar point of view.A word that describes this drama for me is lackluster. Everyone always complimented it so much I think my expectations were too high when I went into this. It's been a while since I saw so unfortunately I don't remember it all that well, but it was such an averege show that I can't be bothered to rewatch it just for this review.
The action scenes are good and the plot is good too for the most part, but it really lacked closure in some aspects. For an example, the show keeps teasing us about the reunion of the female lead with her mom, but when it happens they are not even shown interacting afterwards, it feels like fl just went "ha ha you're my mom, goodbye!".
My main gripe with this is Healer himself, tough. I'm sorry but he's nothing more than the stereotype of the brooding, misteryous dude scarred by the past. I guess I was too fed up with this type of lead by the time I watched this. The romance is also something that left me thoroughly disappointed. It was sparse and seemed to come out of nowhere. There was no build up to the relationship, which in return made it feel quite shallow.
All things considered, not a bad drama and if you like the archetype of character that Healer fits in you'll probably enjoy it, but I don't think it particularly warrants the praise it gets.
