A must watch for one of the best of it's time!
Honestly been so long since I last watched it... I agree with the first review on this, however, it was one of my very first K-Dramas and I have to say it made a pretty big impact on me. What else is to say, I love a good medical meets military show never seen that before so very interesting. Also, the main couple was so cute, sadly they did not live through the fantasy in real life which made me sad, but the drama is very good if you're looking for an honorary popular K-Dramas over the years. Was this review helpful to you?

Descendants of the Sun" explores themes of sacrifice, duty, and the impact of war on individuals and relationships. It highlights the challenges faced by those in military service and the medical profession.ontop of that The drama also touches upon humanitarian efforts and the complexities of international relations, particularly in conflict zones. The portrayal of medical emergencies and challenges faced by Kang Mo-yeon in a war zone adds a layer of realism to the drama I like how every injury or diagnosis of a patient was. a very real and possible thing that could happen and how the way those patients were treated was relatively close and or the exact thing you would actually do. The pacing is very good and everything was well thought out I am on my 20th rewatch and I still get the same feelings I did when I first watched it.

Must watch
It's jus luv...I jus wanted that this drama won't end. The ML and the FL compliment each other so we'll. Their coordination, acting, chemistry is do good. Also the luv story of second lead is to good. Every concept is expressed so nicely. This is going to be on my top list among all the Korean dramas I have watched. The relationship between a soldier and a civilian is shown so wonderfully that you can literally feel the happiness, the pain, the excitement, the love, the separation, the parting they go through.
Even the other characters are interesting, every character has their own story and views.
Do watch. Must watch.

Best drama with proper profession
This show is phenomenal! It was a perfect balance of action, thriller, romance, comedy, you name it...I like Yoon Myeong-joo and Seo Dae-young storyline more than the main leads....they are so mature, understanding, patiently waiting for each other, they are simply flawless❤..
there are lots of funny scenes like when Kang Mo-yeon walks away after playing music and Yoo Shi-Jin comes and everybody heard her recording???... also when Kang Mo-yeon received the gift package and Yoon Myeong-joo,Seo Dae-young and Yoo Shi-jin all three came running to her, oh my god that scene is really hilarious???? also the soldiers morning merch?? there is also fun bromance that you can say they are partners for crime?.
There is also an another one when Kang Mo-yeon came to the dessert on shi-jin's memorial day to leave the pebble and suddenly heard his deep voice( big boss transmitting...) oh it's given me goosebumps????... This is the best scene ever???...
All the actors carried their roles perfectly (including supporting). With a fantastic military background & a fabulous display of emotions, values & relationships.... this series really keeps you exciting throughout all the episodes, from start to end while pulling out various emotions from you & making you eager to look forward to see 'what's next?'. It was a whole package of comedy, romance, and action.... finally happy & sweet ending makes this series emotionally satisfying???.....

First Dip in KDrama Romance
Well what a start!Ive been binging korean science fiction and some horrors and decided to dip my toes into the romantic dramas and this was an exception beginning and started a journey that has no end!
I have to mention the Soundtrack first, OMG its a banger!!!! Every single track, downloaded then all, Always by Yoon Mirae and Everytime by Chen & Punch, top two favs, followed very closely by This love and You are my everything. Even if you dont watch the drama, the Soundtrack is sooo worth a listen.
The series itself gripped me from the first episode, action from the off and Song Joong-Ki, not that i wanna fan girl or anything but wow wow wow! Acting, tick, swoon effect, double tick, chemistry with Song Hye-Kyo, treble tick. I later learned they were married so fully get the bubbling intense chemistry now.
I absolutely bloody loved this coupling and had twitching feet every episode awaiting them finally getting it on. Yes, it did at times itritate, they do, they dont, yes, no, i will, i cant but it certainly didnt stop me watching.
The bromace factor, excellent, Jin Goo, you can come again! I enjoyed his character, his stubbornness and that soft gentle caring side he had. I was really pleased that he had a happy ending and romance however, wont lie, Kim Jo-Won aka Myeong Joo was somewhat annoying as a character.
I loved the pace of this, that it had action, comedy, romance, drama, both at home and away. The military aspects were excellent and the north Korean introduction and commarardery, great story addition.
Whilst some little things niggled me, ill watch this again and again and love it again and again, it was the ultimate beautiful romance and set a very high bar for others to follow.
Defo worth a watch and a listen.

Dropped
Descendants of the Sun was the first Korean drama that I've heard of and wanted to watch, but never got the chance due to accessibility issues. After reading the reviews for the drama about how this series is overrated, my expectations were tempered. However, this remains as one of the most popular K-dramas so I had to watch it. And.... I was disappointed. Upon watching the first episode, the story didn't make much sense. Characters made decisions that didn't seem logical. The mixture of military action, rom-com and hospital drama didn't mesh either. And the story was quite cheesy and awkward. At least the ML is cute and hot though, providing some eye candy in an otherwise dull premiere episode. The next few episodes were cheesy but entertaining however, Episode 4 was quite boring, even with the finale of the two leads kissing. I've decided to drop this K-drama as I don't see the story getting any better. On to the next K-drama...Was this review helpful to you?
one of my favorite rewatch
the only k-drama that i repeatedly streamed! i watched this on kissasian, on local tv, and on my laptop when i downloded it.what i like about this is the characters are both mature, but they can't help but levitate towards each other. it also discusses important topics, and the side characters are as interesting if not more than the leads. it's a shame what happened to the main actress and actor in real life. now i feel awkward when i rewatch it lol
still a classic! this is one of the main reasons why i got back into k-dramas

I was not a fan at first. I don't love constantly changing environments and shady character development. Honestly this kdrama was kind of a mess when it comes to plot, especially the end.
BUT THE SUPOORTING COUPLE RUINED ME.
AND "EVERYTIM"E IS EVERYTHING TO ME.

Absolutely perfect
This drama is definitely one of our favorites from now on! The story is great, this mix between the military world and the medical world is very interesting, humor and emotion are present throughout, the sets are sublime, the setting and the production are perfect and what to say about the actors..Absolutely perfect !!One of the few series where the viewer's interest is continually stimulated and where there are no dead spots.
We loved the romantic relationship of the two supporting characters, it was so touching and heartbreaking, well done to the cast. We enjoy seeing Kim Ji-Won in a role other than the one she had in The Heirs, a role that reveals her acting talents!
The complicity and the alchemy of the second leads burst the screen..
We liked the fact that they have so much stage and that they are not just in the background. The OST, just sublime, that We keep listening to in a loop.

The second lead romance, you'd think was repetitive, but if you think about how a "soldier's honor" is... it does put allot of weight on the "right decision" and the angst of relationship.
The 16 episodes is just right and I am glad they did continue the story after the volunteering because it wasn't a long term deal so life has to go on.
Plus factor is that Song Joong Ki, is just eye candy and he looked really cool in his army uniform and doing all those action stuff (kinda like Healer).

The main guy is handsome but theres really not a lot going on in this drama. I see some people mention there isn't a lot to SHG's acting and I agree. Some parts I really enjoyed but overall I was not that impressed. It was ok though. Totally overhyped and dragged on at times. I would only recommend to watch if you are bored and need to pass the time. There are better dramas out there.
