A little bit of romance, comedy, military, hospital, bromance and drama. Some people did not like it but for me it entertained me allot. I like how they don't show the cliff hanger on the end of an episode but instead surprises you in the next episode. Of course, there are some scenes that are blah but it wasn't whole lot. The second lead romance, you'd think was repetitive, but if you think about how a "soldier's honor" is... it does put allot of weight on the "right decision" and the angst of relationship. The 16 episodes is just right and I am glad they did continue the story after the volunteering because it wasn't a long term deal so life has to go on. Plus factor is that Song Joong Ki, is just eye candy and he looked really cool in his army uniform and doing all those action stuff (kinda like Healer).
