Normally, I don't like Dramas with more than 30 Episodes, because I am not very patient when I am watching a Drama. But if the Plot sounds interesting (like What Happens to my family? or Warrior Baek Dong Soo, ...) I give Dramas with more Episodes a chance and watch them.
Legendary Witch was one of the Dramas I didn't want to watch because I didn't like the Plot at first. My reason to change my mind was because of the positive feedback from other viewers.

Story:
Like written before, I didn't like the plot at first, but when I watched this Drama I realized that the story is about more than the four women and the Ma Family. The story gets exciting with every Episode and some of the Cliffhengers are exciting, too.

Actors/Cast:
Most of the Actors I didn't know before. I liked Ha SeokJin before and I know Han JiHye for a while now. Both of them are very good actors. HSJ played the role of a widower who loves to bake very well. I think the role suits him. His acting is wonderful. In some Scenes I wanted to cry because his acting was very realistic. HJH acts very well, too. Sometimes I was annoyed by her character which she played. How could be a woman so naive??? But with every Episode I realized the development of her Role. The other 3 (or 4 when Kim SooMi count, too) acts very well, too. What I liked very much were the different characters. The woman who wants to find out, why his husband and son died. The Woman who is naive at first but develop a powerful character. The Woman who can talk very much and the mother of a son, who she loves the most. The three younger Woman sees the older Woman (plaeyd by Go DooShim) as their mother ans themself as sisters. Then their is the woman who is played by Kim SooMi. At first I didn't like her, but after a few Episode I thought that she is very funny :). The father-in-Law of HSJ is nice. He acts very well and shows his interest in his 'Love' openly. The Members of the 'Ma Family' playes very well, too. Most of them I didn't like but Joohee was nice...sometimes. Dohyun was my favourite in his family^^. DooJin and Driver Tak were well, too.

Music:
My favourite Song was by Gunji of Gavy NJ. This Song and another Song was played often and I think that both of them suits the plot and story.

Rewatch Value:
Normally, I would say 'yes, of course', but because of the many Episodes I give 9 out of 10. That means, that I would watch it again but it is not so important like other Dramas (Althogh I want to watch Ha SeokJin again *-*)

Because of the 40 Episodes and some other minor things I give this Drama 9.5 out of 10^^. But I would like to recommend :)

When I read the synopsis of Legendary Witch, it reminded me a bit of Harmony (movie). And to some extent it was a drama-adaptation of the film. Except that Legendary Witch is hell makjang. The show has a melodramatic start and by some ridiculous fate the four prison cellmates end up being related to each other in some way or the other. The characters, especially, the negative characters are hell exaggerated (but then what is makjang without exaggerations? lol). So plot-wise it is very predictable and annoying even. But at the same time, there are some really funny incidences and pairings that make you want to come back for just a bit more.

My personal favorites were Young Ok, and that halapati who kept trying to date her. God I loved Young Ok. She was hilarious throughout and her song is totally stuck in my mind. Gen-Gen-Gen-Gentleman-ida XD I liked Pung Geum and the driver dude. They were so cool and I loved their ending. The main couple was a little stiff at times. I don't really like their acting but their scenes together were sweet. I liked the OST.

Overall it's not the best drama out there but in terms of makjang it's pretty average and watchable and Young Ok definitely makes it more worth it.

This drama really just speaks to my taste. I love dramas with Strong women, Side stories(that are fun and comedic), and evil people who just make me want to kill them. IT has it all for the typical kdrama. The story was great although a bit repetitive with all the evil shit. I expect it for a kdrama every episode something bad happening that will make you rip your hair out. I love the idea though from nothing all these girls became something of themselves. It really shows that you can do anything if you put your heart into. EVERYTIME something nice happened to them I cried because I was so happy for them to get their happy ending.

I really loved the cast. Han Ji Hye really plays these characters well. The poor ones with shitty lives. Shes someone who knows those rolls well. I haven't recognized anyone else I knew in the kdrama scene maybe the CEO. I really only watched it for Han Ji Hye because as an actress she is just my style. I know its repetitive kdrama but I like it for that reason.

MUSIC. OMG I HAVE DOWNLOADED THE WHOLE OST AND IM GONNA REPLAY IT FOR DAYS. when ever im mad im gonna play the witches revenge and stare into the camera like the office. Also some tracks sounded like they came from the titanic movie and i almost cried. I love that movie(not for the couple just the historical aspect of it)

I do not rewatch dramas ever unless I have a reason too its not my thing.

Overall if you want a good typical kdrama with poor females leads with shitty lives turn them around then you should watch it. IF you are a fan of Han Ji Hye you will like this drama. There are happy moments a lot and IT will make you cry if you are a drama lover. CAUSE I CRIED SO MUCH I DONT WANT THIS DRAMA TO END B UT OMG ITS SO PERFECT.

Legendary Witch started out promising and I did enjoy it for the most part. There was a time when I impatiently waited from week to week for the next episode. Of course this drama is totally makjang which I happen to enjoy, but it really became monotonous, The "bad" guys had no depth and no reason for all the things they did. They just thought they were entitled and every one was beneath them. I like it when I feel conflicted about why the bad people do what they do. The women's story of sister hood was great. However, I didn't feel any chemistry between the main lead couple. There was interesting comic relief and the side couples were cute. Honestly, the way they ended the drama really irritated me. At one point I was going to give this drama an 8, but it went consistently down.

The acting was okay although a bit cheesy. I'm not going to go into every actor like I usually do, because no one was outstanding. It was all just mediocre with stupid dialog at times. I don't think that is necessarily the actors fault though.

The music was ok.

I will never rewatch this.

I don't really recommend this drama even if you like makjang.

The basis of this story was good, and if directed by someone different maybe it could have been more life filled, I liked the bonding between the women, they really stood up for each other and literally became each other's family. It was nice watching they bake, learn, and sing/dance together *song* 'Gen, gen, gen, gentlemenida' - I'd get a kick out of Yeong Ok (Yoko) whenever she'd belt out this song lol - As for the romance aspect of this drama, it was good but nothing spectacular. I loved the growth in character of Do Jin (Do Sang Woo) & I actually liked his story more than the leads :P I loved Woo Seok's (Ha Suk Jin) character/personality, he was smart, loyal and honest about his feelings & his daughter was adorable (even if she did look the same throughout the passing of the years lol) The 'Ma' family = drama drama and more drama... they were totally shameless (all except for Do Jin & Do Hyun). If you have a headache then you must have met the 'Ma' family. They deliver them in all sorts of ways... Honestly the first half of this drama was better than the second half - if it had been shorter it might have succeeded.

Rant----->*I decided to watch this drama for Han Ji Hye but honestly she disappointed me in this drama, I don't know what it was that was bothering me so much about her, but her acting just seemed to be really lacking compared to her previous drama, I don't know if if was b/c she doesn't play the "pitiful" role "weak woman" type character well or what but she was definitely off & lacking something. I kept wishing they'd fix her hair but they never did (besides the cameo hair change once in a long while) She doesn't look good with her hair parted down the center - it makes her face look so LONG. I think she needed more makeup too - at least around the eyes, lips & cheeks - she looked deathly most of the time.* *the settings were too fake & that bothered me a little too*

Music was pleasant to the ears and I have a couple songs saved to listen to again :)

I won't rewatch this -

At first, I thought this drama was about revenge. About a fight between an angry wronged woman and a strong wealthy family.

But it's not. It's a drama about forming bonds. Getting to know strange people and creating memories that will last.

What I liked in this drama:

-The storyline. (Story development)
- The romance. (The main leads had a really loveable romance development - Even the supporting characters had good romance storyline).
- Twists. (This drama was all normal then out of the blue a twist occurred that got me excited and kept me holding up with the last episodes)
- Comedy. (Okay, there are many sad scenes but this drama got a lot of hilarious scenes as well)

What I didn't like:

- I expected a revenge drama after what happened to the main lead. (But thankfully they gave us a story about forming relationships and moving on with your life).
- It's a drama, I know. But somehow all the characters are amazingly connected to one thing.(One cell?)
- I wanted a stronger female lead, not that she's too weak. But after suffering, I expected a stronger one.

How to enjoy this drama? Watch it as a regular interesting family drama. Not a revengeful one so you won't get disappointed.

Since half of the story line of this drama is about baking, I would like to compare this drama to a sponge cake whipped with lots of cliche white icing all over it. Then add great acting by the cast as a strawberry topping and sprinkle with light cinnamon flavored OST. Tada! You get a taste of Strawberry Short cake drama in return.

The Legendary Witch is a drama appropriate for middle aged woman, mothers and single parents but it doesn't mean it cannot be watched by people who fit outside this description. It's just that these set of viewers will very much relate with the drama's story line. Admittedly there was a lot of cliches and short comings in this drama which I wouldn't mind skipping. Adding to that is also the part in which the story could have ended at episode 30 but they made a really unbelievable twist which pissed me off big time! However, it was eventually redeemed at around episode 37 but still not quite forgivable. What really made up for my nit picking about this drama is the fact that they gathered good main actors together (minus Ha Suk Jin who played as Han Ji Hye's love interest, yes he's really really good looking but he doesn't give me enough feels in this drama and acting wise - he still has more room for improvement... but this doesn't mean he's not an eye candy! Because he totally is!) I like how all the four ladies complemented each other and supported one another with the kind of acting which the other lacked.

Ji Hye's character as Moon Soo In was such a pain for being the kind of woman who attracts trouble due to her naivety, she's simply too nice for her own good. Half of the time I want to strangle her for her stupidity and the other half I want to hug her and ask why was she born under unlucky stars. Thank goodness there's the old lady Shim Bok Nyeo to pick her up even though her own life is broken into bits and pieces by being convicted with Arson and Familicide. She lost her husband and son through fire but she still has room to act as a mother to girls like Soo In, Seo Mi Oh and Son Pung Geum. Which by the way one got impregnated by a mama's boy and the other lived as a con-seductress to mooch off money from rich men. Ah... the complicated life of these women. It's hard to fathom how they got together as a family but they did it anyway and more successfully than the blood related ones.

Aside from the main characters, there are two side characters whom I have taken note of and is dear to my heart. First is Ma Joo Ran acted by Byun Jung Soo. This woman is seriously nuts (almost like her dad). Her character is really really over the top of a spoiled middle aged woman who has a mind set of a teenager. Jung Soo played this character with flying colors and she's very much effective in it. She made me want to tear her hair out and feel bad for her at the same time. Secondly there's Kim Yeong Ok aka Ono Yoko played by Kim Soo Mi. This old woman almost killed me from all the air I released from laughing. She's annoyingly loud and really childish for a woman who's supposed to be 80 years old, but oh man... she definitely gave me the laughs with all of her antics. This supporting actress is one of the high lights of this show. I might also re-watch some parts of this drama solely because of her.

Having said all that, I'm giving it 7.5 because the drama affected me in a way I shouldn't and it got me to laugh, cry and get pissed off all at the same time. Hence, I'm recommending it to people who would have the patience to watch all 40 episodes and willing to feel what I felt about the drama.

Barely passable...

Keep in mind this is pure makjang, it was purposely made to trigger the viewers especially with Do Hyun (Soo In's husband) pathetic plot line which I see a lot of people complaining about it trying to defend Do Hyun, unrightfully though. Just like any other makjang the story kicks off with the classic move of incompetent authorities/justice system. Unfortunately, it doesn't get any better after that, it's infested with stupid characters and weak dialogue. Han Ji Hye didn't seem to be a good fit to play Soo In character by being too tame and soft spoken, she often shines more in other roles where she's vibrant, outspoken and bold. Soo In as a character lacked proper characterization and depth in the first place, she was written as a generic "very nice" girl, replacing her with any other actress wouldn't have had made a difference.

It's entertaining but bad.
The idea of sisterhood, found family and friendship is really good, that is my favorite part, but everything else is just meh.
The beginning was boring and it dragged for too long, it took a couple of episodes for the story to actually start going somewhere, i think it could've been perfectly fit in a 16 episodes drama, instead of 30+
Some moments are fun and i actually really loved most of the characters, besides the main couple, because they were too bland. The "villains" were the worst part. They don't have strong motivations, they're just mean because they can.
The side stories were the best and I would actually rewatch certain episodes just for that.
It's not terrible, but it's definitely not good either.

What have I learned from 40eps+ dramas? So far you have not impressed me at all! LW started with sluggishness yet hopefulness, as it progressed is still held us coming back for more, we yearned for some justice and left in the land of want and angst.

Story: typical makjang storyline of poor, naive, and gullible girl, rich family and lots of bad-evil-twists.
Actors: for me the only standout was KSM as the loud-mouth gangster - she always made me laugh since she never took herself or role serious, thus allowing me to rank this higher in the acting category.
Music: nothing memorable nor did it do anything to help this drama
Rewatch: Never again!

What lacked was the overall lack of main character development into something we all cared about. I did find these women resilient - gutsy from start but they did not get wiser or less gullible or stronger even til eps40. The only people the writers kept developing were the manipulative, evil, and rich family who should have been called the witches or B*#$ches.
Final Note: HJH needs to be in a role that she is not used a door mat. So far she will remain "doormat actress" til she proves different.
