The drama is really good and the cast is exceptional. I usually don't watch dramas that have more than 20 episodes unless they're historical, because they tend to get boring. But this one, this one made me watch the whole drama in just 2 days.
I loved it from the first episode to the last, it's a roller coaster of emotions - I laughed, I cried, I hated some characters and then I loved them - and then I hated them again, I smiled, I got frustrated and angry in some situations and I loved every minute of it. It is definitely worth watching.

What's not to like about this drama! You have 2 handsome men sparring over a gorgeous ex wife and a beautiful fiance who will do anything, ANYTHING to keep her man. It is really entertaining to watch Eric Mun and Lee Seo Jin as rivals in love and business. And whenever the drama slows down a bit, MI Ran, the fiance, wil do something else outrageous.
If you want to watch this for the romance, it all happens in the first steamy, passionate episode. This is more of a revenge drama, which makes it rather unique. Mi Ran is reminiscent of Glen Close in the American classic, Fatal Attraction. Yes, it's not a relaxing watch, but it is definitely entertaining. The acting is exceptional and the music has some of the best pieces in any drama.

First, my apology to those who enjoyed this drama.

The drama started off well, very gripping story for about 9 episodes … from Ep 13, I started FF a lot, a lot. Over and over again I had to watch one character acting out her insanity … listen to such trite declarations of love from another … and listen to the same piece of music 2 or 3 times per episode, to the point I would hit the Mute button. The only reason I continued watching: Lee Seo-jin = superb acting and the only likable and somewhat believable character in this drama although his love story with Ji-Eun was a bit of a stretch. As for Lee Eun Joo's Ji-Eun, after a while she was … just there ... for Lee Seo-jin's Sae Hoon story.

One of the most poorly-scripted dramas in all DramaLand. (sorry)

As for Rewatch value … I wanted to give it a Zero, but not do-able here.

How can 26 episodes seem like 100? This felt like a daily in disguise. Play a drinking game for everytime someone threatens to break up.

Yes it's entertaining, until you realize that some of the roadblocks (Mi Ran) could've been easily dealt with.

I mean who lets a crazy woman have keys to their house? It is also a good example of how not to treat a mental patient that so obviously needs help.

I woudn't watch it again and would warn others to not feel guilty about FF through parts.

There were other storylines besides our love triangle but, I honestly don't remember what happened with them or the names and I just finished the drama after watching a second time. (I couldn't remember watching this drama and had to satisfy my curiosity as to why)

Well, it goes without saying that this one is infinitely better than the clusterfuck of the remake. The remake was an embarrassment to be made in the first place. With that being said, the drama itself is still problematic with its writing, direction, progress, development and conclusion. Also, I hated that one soundtrack with auto tune that kept playing every 2 seconds. Still watchable tho.

Rip Lee Eun Joo :(

Love Story, Nice Nostalgia

I don't know what attracts me so much in this drama; sadness in Jeon's eyes? her innocent cries? her oppressed and submissive character? Or the real fate of Lee Eun Joo?
The couple Ji Eun and Sae Hoon is maybe the most attractive couple of K-dramas that I have seen. It is very rare that in K-dramas the relationship of a couple and the love between them is natural and believable. Phoenix is really exceptional in this field. Sae Hoon and Ji Eun are very close. There is love in Sae Hoon's eyes, it's so natural that every time we see them, we want to stay together and touch each other.
In addition to Ji Yoon's character, which may have been overshadowed by the real fate of actress, you should not overlook the lovely character of Sae Hoon and the beautiful performance of Lee Soo Jin. Sae Hoon is a man who can be desired by many women in reality; Cool, proud, self-reliant and ethical.
Here I have to mention his amazing music. Not only in K-dramas but in all the visual works I have ever seen, it has rarely happened that a music has impressed me so much. Even after 14 years of watching it, I still sometimes remember tracks and scenes.
I agree that this drama is not without weaknesses; but i love it because of above positive points and also personal nostalgia.
It is certain that the love between Ji Eun and Jung Min did not work out at all, and in fact, it can be cited as an example of many failed relationships in dramas.
It is hard to believe that a girl with the characteristics of Ji Eun is so lovely. A girl who, either due to the necessity of the story or probably influenced by the personal life of the actress, has a sad and soulless face. Let's not forget her economic status. In reality, a girl with these characteristics, is rarely favored by a rich and fun-loving man.
Likewise, the continuation of this relationship despite Ji Eun's reluctance raises questions. We only see Jung Min's unbelievable passion, but Ji Eun continues this relationship.
Apart from all this, the characterization of Mi-ran is believable and real with Jung Hye Young's wonderful acting. It can be one of the trump cards of the drama, although I doubt that anyone will watch the drama because of Mi-ran!
Phoenix is a love story, and indeed, the love in it is phoenix-like and fiery. Phoenix can show that when the relationship between the two main characters of the drama is right, the drama can not be not loved.
This drama can be full of life lessons for young people.

What does it mean to love someone?

My favorite thing about this show was how it managed to provide a lot of ridiculous soapy excess while also wrestling intelligently with its central thematic concern: the importance of timing in determining whether a relationship succeeds or fails. Successful romances aren't just built on who you love, but when and how you love. Early on Phoenix sells the audience on the powerful attraction between the leads as well as the significance of the internal and external obstacles that drive them apart and keep them estranged for so long. I was so emotionally engaged by these characters and their tortured circumstances even though I wanted to wring their necks a lot of the time. I thought this show also did a job making the typical plot obstacle second leads interesting characters in their own right because they're just so messy and weird. The second FL in particular was such a great baddie. There was some dragginess and repetition in the second half of the drama, as well as a minor and totally unnecessary "comic relief" subplot between a few useless supporting characters that could have easily hit the cutting room floor, but I was still captivated enough to binge 26 episodes in 4 days.
