6.0/10 - Wonderful start and great energy!

"The one who loves more is always the weaker one." - Kang Ja
"A strange and mysterious being. I am a mom." Kang Ja

The opening for this drama is pretty awesome. It also establishes Kang Ja and her beliefs in the world. It shows us who she really is independently, as a mother, daughter-in-law, and wife. The many facades and versions of Kang Ja. I believe one character, a evil corrupted school lackey, aptly refers to Kang Ja "as no ordinary woman".

Kang Ja loves her daughter deeply and completely. The first quote is about her love for her daughter. In a flashback Kang Ja is reminded about the horrible things she said to her mother. Just like the backstabbing cruelness that Ah Ran delivered to her. Kang Ja soon learns it isn't crazy adolescence. Her daughter is being bullied. Somehow because of her association with Yi Kyeong. Kang Ja hears her daughter shouldn't be hanging with Yi Kyeong. Then people keep warning Ah Ran is getting warnings that she shouldn't be hanging with Yi Kyeong. Ah Ran wants to defend her good friend. There are rude comments about Yi Kyeong being a lesbian.

Kang Ja is serious about protecting her daughter. Though it soon becomes clear that her daughter won't speak up for herself and none of the other students will come forward. Not to mention that her daughter goes from being the victim to the person in the wrong. Everyone else has money and affluence, and Kang Ja should be the one removed. Kang Ja then finds out how unhelpful the law is. Soon her illusions about the school system helping or the law providing any aid becomes clear. Bullying is all to easy to receive and no one wants to help.

Overall this is a great setup. Giving us a look into Kang Ja and the unjustice world that is leading her down the path we the viewers know she will take up. Plenty of intrigue is setup. Like what is this truth behind what happened to Yi Kyeong? Why are kids will to deal out death threats at knife point (why my lovely Ji Soo)? There's more to this story than simple bullying, but this is clearly a story of how unfair and lethal it is. Even a loving mother is powerless against it.

The ending was interesting. We have no idea why she went to the night club, except maybe her old ties from youth? I have to say this is a pretty great setup and love the energy of the show. The cast is pretty impressive and
Kim Hee Sun as Kang Ja is clearly going to be another wonderful performance by one of my favorite actresses. I love how everyone says how young Kang Ja is and that one teacher thinking she's a student. The setup up is there. Maybe they'll say it enough we'll truly believe it! ^_-
