Jung Tae is very upset. He borrowed money from his friend Jung Bae to start a business, but even that failed, leaving him with a debt of 30 million won. Because of this money, his friend is imprisoned. While trying to find money, Jung Tae thinks about his hometown. When he opens the front door and enters, his mother Ok Soon beats him with a broom and kicks him out. Ok Soon swears at him, asking what he came back to take, and even sprinkles salt on him, saying that he is unlucky. With nowhere to go, Jung Tae visits his father's grave in Seonsan and racks his brain about how to get through this difficult time. At that moment, an old monk, who is either a beggar or a monk, asks him for a drink and says that the grave site is bad, and that a fortune teller will be born for generations and ruin the family. The old monk then tells Jung Tae that the grim reaper comes and goes in his face, and tells him to look at his fortune. The old monk who read the fortune says that he has never seen such an unlucky fortune in his life and that he will die before he gets to the year of Gye-mi. When he hears that he only has five days to live, Jung Tae ignores him and accuses him of being a fool. That day, Jung Tae ends up at the police station because of his uncle Bong Seop, and the next day, his teeth break because of a ring in his dumpling soup. When the old monk's prediction comes true, Jung Tae cries and asks if there is any way to live. The old monk advises him that if he meets a woman born in the fourth month of the year of the pig and gets married, he might be able to cover up his sin. When he hears that it is a woman born in the fourth month of the year of the pig, Jung Tae sees the fortune. However, the woman who appeared at that place was none other than Young Hae, a friend that Jung Tae liked. Young Hae, a police officer, said that her junior was dating a man, so she came instead, and that if she had known that Jung Tae was coming, she would never have come, and the two bicker and fight.
