The heir to a world famous wine collection battles his rival in a challenge to discover his father's “Seven Apostles” of wine. His only weapons are the written descriptions of each vintage, his own memories, and an inborn taste for wine.

Sound awesome? If you have a thirst to see KAT-TUN’s Kame and/or you want to learn something about wine (and the eloquent prose of wine critics), then this is the drama for you. If you’re also in the mood for a slow, sentimental story with a ‘feel good about family and friends premise’, then this drama is for you. If you get slightly bored by mostly plot-less dramas, overly characterized side characters, and a subdued main lead, I recommend a skip.

Kami no Shizuku plods along at a pace that is just unhurried by anyone, and seems almost to take itself too seriously. I love reading a good wine description, but it’s mostly for the humor value. Hence, I got a lot of comedy out of what’s not exactly a comedy. The story is honestly not that intriguing, but it’s only 9 episodes! And I was in it for the wine. Too bad I won't ever get to taste any. The going price today for some of those vintages are between $100 and $1100! Bet they were sampling Welch’s grape-cranberry juice for this production.

Getting back to the drama, each “apostle” represents a memory or value of our hero’s father that in all-due-cheesy-fashion, our lead has to figure out. There are some nice filler stories per individual episodes, a little bit of a romance between Kanzaki and Shinohara, and a properly strange mystery over the connection between Kanzaki and his rival Tomine Issei. Mostly though the guy crept me out with his wine-gurgling “oohhhhhhh”. Can’t tell if overacting or he just had a really dry throat after all that cranberry juice.

Conclusion: It’s not a re-watch, but I enjoyed learning something about wines and vintages, a little of how they are made, and what natural or seasonal changes can affect the production. I also learned what a sommelier is and appreciated seeing some of the tricks of their trade. Especially with Kame as the model.

I buddy-watched this drama. Well..... There's also the presence of Kamenashi Kazuya ~all smiles~ And as usual his acting was GOOD!!!

This Kami no Shizuku is the last puzzle Kanzuki (Kame) has to solve before he can inherit the wine collection his father left behind.
Kanzuki wasn't on good terms with his Dad till he died, so there were thousands of unanswered questions and the only way Kanzuki could get answers is by solving each and every puzzle his Dad left him. Apart from this, Kanzuki has vowed not to drink wine again at his 20th b'day, but in order to solve these puzzles he will have to at least taste various wines.

Kami no Shizuku isn't all about wine, there's of course romance, comedy and family issues also. I'm seriously waiting to watch a Japanese drama without family-related matters!!!! There's always something about it.

KnS is really educational, they were using wine terminologies and not lay man's language which I really found interesting. There were also side notes LOL!!!! Well, believe it or not I took notes of almost every side note :p. Funny right?? What is left now, is for me to organise a trip to France and spend a year polishing the skills I got from a Japanese drama of 9 eps lol!!!

Notwithstanding, KnS is really a good drama!!!! After watching this drama, you won't be able to drink or look at wines the same again. Well, for me it has changed my whole perspective about wines. So, if you're interested in seeing how good an actor Kame is, or you want to test your knowledge about wines, please do go ahead and watch this drama!!!

I simply watched this for Kamenashi Kazuya and I have to say, it was a learning experience and a joy to watch. If you don't know anything about wines, your head will be full of knowledge by the end. What I especially like in JDramas is that they provide you with the information as you watch. So, you will learn terms that are strictly in relations to the wine industry. The story, about two men competing for the inheritance of millions of dollars of a wine collection, it really was not about that as you watch it. I found the story very interesting because you find out what the competition really is about, episode after episode. I definitely liked the end where every bottle of wine featured in the competition and the regions were explained in detail. I must say, that is the one thing I truly like about Japanese dramas. Very good!

What would you do if you hated your father and you suddenly had to fight for your inheritance? You go learn about wine obviously.

In this drama, you get to learn about different wines. Since this is based on a manga it's set a very episode but good pace. Each episode is about one of the "Seven Apostles" so expect many side stories. Maybe throw in a romance or ten? The path to a 20 billion yen wine inheritance isn't easy. Not everything is as it really seems there are twists along the way. {8.0}

Cast wise well as always Kamanashi tries his best with his dramas. Gotta give him props for speaking French. The main cast is pretty well known but I didn't feel much chemistry in it. The office workers felt a bit too *insert line* here if you get what I mean. No offence to her fans but I could not stand the main female lead Naka Riisa. Her acting was so awkward and in all honesty, it made me want to drop the drama. {7.5}

Music-wise well, I liked the KAT-TUN ending theme and the others were okay. Nothing too special here. {8.0}

Would I watch it again? It's a flip of a coin most likely not because I don't really like the female lead's acting. {5.0}

Overall {8.0}

Kamenashi played the son of somebody who is know for his wine expertise and collection. When Shizuku’s father dies he left a will that leaves his 2 billion worth of wine collection to the person who will diacover what the 7 “Apostles” are. These apostles are wine.

Shizuku is somebody who gave up on wine because of his father. He then eventually decided to compete not to get the inheritance but to know more about his father Yutaka.

Kame did a great job. His expressions are awesome. And here he speak French, quite cool. All the cast also did a good job.

This drama was made back in 2009 and you’ll only feel its oldness because of the phones they use. Lol.
