I watched this movie more than 2 years ago. The reason why I suddenly feel the need to write a review is because I believe it has been wronged in more than one respect. First, the badly written synopsis which focuses on irrelevant details and gives the impression this were a depraved movie of some sort - which is not.
Second, because I have a very hard time understanding why anyone should watch a movie well knowing it deals with incest and then complain about the fact that it portrays such a delicate and offending issue. It's like eating at a sushi bar and then refusing to pay because one doesn't like raw fish.
The main theme of this movie is two biological siblings loving each other. This is not a spoiler, as it is clearly stated in the synopsis. If you think you can't face the issue and are disgusted by the idea, I suggest you simply don't watch it.
On the other hand, if you can confront the matter of an adolescent being obsessed with his sister, this movie deals with it in a delicate, far from vulgar way. It is very well acted and stresses upon the internal - we may call it infernal too - struggle of the male lead to overcome his obsession.
It's a slow film which doesn't play on events as much as it tries to depict the battle between reason and passion. It is not a romantic movie by any means either, and yet there's a sweetness surrounding some of the scenes which goes beyond the mere issue of this being a wrong sort of love.
I can't remember the music, hence the non-committal mark.
Among all the movies I like to rewatch, this is certainly not on the top of my list. However, it is a brave movie which I believe deserves at least some fair mentioning.

Actually, the movie seems like calm relation, but it's good story. I suppose I will watch it again someday.

Story was better since they both had mutual feeling, unlike one sided forcing one on the other. While they both due to society standards knew they were wrong they still jump into this relationship. The story had a nice end but still I felt its incomplete. So I searched everywhere and read the full story, its far deep and the movie is just a very small part of it. Its a taboo topic but the way the story baseline and characters are involved its awesome.
Yori and Iku acting was superb!!! Mothers concern when she sees the clean bed was commendable. As we all know nothing can be hidden from the mothers.
Well I am from a society were I see cousins are also treated as brothers and sisters, and there is a festival for sibling relationship Raakhi in one religion. Whereas in a different religion there is marriage between cousin, so it wasn’t hard for me to digest this topic.
As its a sensitive topic if one wants to criticize and stop others from watching it, please don’t. see this as a movie. Its a good movie and let one watch and decide on their own if its good or not

Taboo emotions w/uncomfortable psychological issues
I agree he's a dick, but how does a teenage boy deal with sexual expression? In the US, these emotions are usually portrayed as getting a girl drunk and raping her.Someone here said Japan is not afraid to tackle uncomfortable and or forbidden situations. I agree 💯 percent.
Being a dick is not an unnatural response to extreme psychological confusion. It seems to me that many commenters here are either disappointed that there's not a lot of titillation in the film. Or they find even the idea of experiences portrayed here unnatural.
I found the film very realistic though it might have been more clearly portrayed in a dorama with more time for the viewer to tackle these taboo subjects.
Perhaps I understand more because I speak from similar (not identical) personal experience with incest.
As the movie progressed I recalled an article or discussion on twin obstetrics. Twins are naked and in extremely close contact for the first 9 months of life. There have even been cases of C-section births where the siblings were found to be in a close embrace. Toddler twins can go through emotional distress when parted.

Based on INCEST!
This movie is based on incest. The first movie of my life which is out of the line. First romantic movie which involves physical and romantic relation between blood related siblings. In movie twins share a incest relation.I just want to say that its not an ordinary romantic movie. And even in the ending they were going to separate. I just don't know when will their parents will get to about their incestuous relationship.
In the movie we just got to know that both brother and sister accepted each other physically and romantically about what about people, society and their own parents did they accepted them?
The consensual incest is legal in some countries including Japan.
And I think love never discriminates anyone!!!

If you can't stomach taboo topics and in particular, incest...DON'T WATCH THIS! It will save you from complaining or dropping mid way. There is intimacy between the siblings like in any relationship that is shown in movies to develop their relationship so be forewarned. The story in the movie has a lot of plot holes in my opinion. They didn't really explain things well or complete enough. This movie, objectively speaking, wasn't produced very well. The cast was definitely in the so-so range in my opinion so that didn't really help. The fact is, I watched the anime OVA first so I knew what I was getting myself into. (FYI, this is based off a manga...10 volumes) And, in comparison to the OVA, I felt like the movie did better than the OVA in portraying the manga but it still left holes in places I wish it was filled in. The movie shows the emotional struggle that the siblings do have from beginning to end. I agree with another reviewer that mentioned that this really isn't a romantic movie. It shows that the romance exists but it more so focuses on the struggle of acceptance of what relationship can the two of them have...an adventurous path that most don't tread on.
Don't really have much to say about music. Rewatching value...well, let's just say this won't be the first thing that pops up in my head. It is one of those movies that you will remember just because of the taboo topic. Acting really isn't all that great.
But, I do think it isn't that bad. Food for thought...I think this type of relationship can actually happen. I mean twins are a strong bond. And, in Asian countries, family are really close. Too be so close to run into a foreign emotion to a family member may be possible, especially in twins...plus the fact that they are teens with hormones raging and other factors that are shown in the movie. There are definitely forces playing for it to happen.
The portrayal of emotional confusion, struggles and acceptance of a decision between the characters are the three memorable and noticeable things that makes the movie not so much so, a terrible movie to me.
