This probably won't make sense for some since these dramas really aren't too similar. The only thing they have in common is that they are kind of slice of life and both include romance.
The reason i think you'll like them both is because they give off the same happy feeling for the viewer. I don't know how to explain it better than that really, but give the other one a try if you like one!!

I laugh many times watching both shows. The level of comedy is just awesome.
Both have charming characters and both dramas are character-driven.
They both covers coming of age stories, their daily life's ups and downs.
Both are set in 1980s Korea, and the shows are doing a superb job in building this oldie antique vibes.
The difference: Boyhood has a bullying trope and focus only on youths relationships. Reply 1988 focus more on family relationships

I usually dislike war/action themed dramas, but Battle of Changsha is way more than just that. The drama revolves around the Hu family and their struggles. Like 1988, I came to care deeply for each of the characters. Both are more realistic/character-driven drama, though Battle of Changsha has a more serious tone to it. This was one of the first Cdramas I started to watch (bc I'm running out of Kdrama lol), but it was AMAZINGGG.
The story line was a bit different but both stories started from when they were high school until present. Both stories gave me the warmth and nostalgic feeling. They both also have friendships you've been wanting to have. The main lead girl is both funny and the guy they end up to is both smart. Just a warning both have super heartbreaking second leads!
