Set in the mid-60s, Park Hyeong Seob is the son of a lower-class family who decides to participate in the June 3rd uprising and go on a hunger strike. Feeling skeptical about the movement, he decides to join Daehan Constructions as a worker and travels around the world, and slowly rises in the ranks of the company. His wife, Lim Woo Hee, becomes the Chief Secretary at Daehan Constructions. Choi Tae Hwan is the son of Shin Ho Company's CEO and married to Han Ji Hye, the Director of Planning at said company. Oh Yoon Hee is a conwoman, who poses as a businesswoman and is married to a high-ranked politician. Inspired by the lives of real-life personalities such as Lee Myeong Bak, the 17th President of South Korea and founder of Hyundai Engineering, or conwoman Jang Young Ja, the drama showcases the political, social and economic turmoil of the 60s in Korea.
