Betrayed by love, Seo Yeong Joo ends up an unwed mother. Even her son Jun Yeong is taken from her. Yeong Joo works as a nurse in a public health center on a remote island. One day, she is admitted to the hospital for tuberculosis. The head of the health center writes a letter to her former lover, Se Joon, regarding Yeong Joo's illness. Jun Yeong thought his mother was in America. But when he finds the letter, he learns the truth. Jun Yeong sneaks to Mokpo to go to the island but he is sent home after being reported missing.
