Payong (1993)

Hoenfa, the son of a wealthy man, moves to Bangkok after his father’s death to attend school, living with his mean aunt and cousins. He leaves a ring with his best friend, Suay, and promises to never forget her. Though he writes her lies about his happiness, Suay eventually learns the truth. Years later, after becoming a pilot, Hoenfa crashes in a forest where Suay, now a doctor helping the poor, lives. Will they finally understand each other and rekindle their bond?
