I watched this drama probably months ago but recently I've decided to write reviews for some of the dramas I've completed to make my experience with watching dramas better. "Love O2O" is a story about 2 gamers meeting each other in this specific game and finally meeting in real life and falling enough. This, is the summary in short. I actually wasn't considering watching this drama, but comments from others I've watched all recommended this one.
Story:
This concept of the story was interesting, a story about gamers, IT geniuses and the starting of a relationship, well, all is well apart from one flaw of this drama. It was way too perfect, so perfect it actually made the drama boring! Everything was just smoothly flowing and everything had a happily-ever after and there weren't actually a lot of things we as an audience could have suspense for or anything that makes us really excited to watch the next episode.
Actors/Cast:
I actually discovered Yang Yang through this, and I have to admit, this character didn't really show his full potential in acting. The character he played which was Xiao Nai was supposed to be a cold and distant character and the most popular guy on campus and being distant and cold you couldn't really put much emotion into your acting, he had the have almost the same expressions most of the time.
I don't think Zheng Shuang wasn't fit to play the role of Bei Weiwei but I wished that she could've been less "cutesy" and that the editors didn't put a really high squeaky voiceover for her. When I watched a variety show with her in it I was so surprised at the difference of her real voice compared to the voiceover in the drama.
I think cast and actors did an alright job but there could definitely be more room for improvement.
Music:
The only music I really enjoyed was the opening theme song, it had this nice feel to it, but that's about it.
Rewatch value:
Personally I wouldn't rewatch it again, so I gave it a 5 as part of neutral.
Overall:
The concept of the drama was good, but the way the whole thing was film and premiered wasn't exactly the best honestly. In my opinion this drama is a little overrated, being the fact that most people recommend this in Youtube comments, but hey, you do you.

Im writing this review not immediately after I watched the drama, im writing this 10 dramas after. So my impression might be a bit biased already since I didn't write exactly what I felt after watching it.
So here is what I liked about it.
1. The main guy is so handsome, he is like a fairytale prince that you can't get your eyes off
2. He and his friends are so funny together
3. KO is soooooo boyfriend material
4. The game concept is reaally awesome
What I don't like
1. The main girl has a boring personality and really needs a sandwich (the antagonist even seems to be more interesting)
2. One of her friends is just plain annoying, her acting of being a naughty noisy friend is SO forced
3. The PLOT is sooo slow and not satisfying, romance scenes were barely there
4. If there were romance scenes, its the common ones you might have read in romance novels (e.g. wattpad)
5. There are so many cringey characters, especially the antagonists
HONESTLY, I don't even understand how I came to like it.
Well, credits to the CASTING FOR THE MEN though.. Their acting is so good and they have good looks to ;)
The men were able to cover up for all of the negative in the movie. Especially Xiao Nai and KO.
Okay, I might sound shallow for just watching the drama because of the handsome guys but come on, IT IS TRUE that they were the only thing good. They covered up the lacking parts in the series with their acting and making you believe that it is a nice romantic comedy series.
Why I was hooked up with CDRAMAS after this? (even after claiming that it isnt a good one)
Well, I came to like the Chinese idioms and I also like their series concept where they narrate what the characters are thinking. This also introduced me to a bit of ancient china SO THATS WHY the following 10 dramas iv'e mentioned are all historical ones. :)
Would I re-watch it? NO
Do I recommend it? YES if you're into handsome guys and NO if you're into plot

ONE OF THE BEST DRAMAS EVERRRR
i ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS DRAMA !!! It was disappointing to know the fl was blacklisted from the industry but im glad to see yang yang appearing in lots of dramas . i loved his drama with dilraba! This drama was so sweet and xiao nai is so fine, he treated wei wei so nicely and episode 10 was my fave.if you are looking for a love story without misunderstandings then this is for you. The couple always believed eachother and they were both the most goodlooking in the campus/department .Xiao nai was so protective of weiwei it was so sweet. IVE rewatched this drama over 20 times bc of how good it is.xIAO NAI is a cold but caring charcter that always cares about weiwei. 10/10 totally recommendWas this review helpful to you?
Being still relatively new to this field of reviews and also dramas I can say that from experience it could be an easy distressing drama to watch that leaves you with a smile at the end of the day.
An interesting plot not so commonly used such as love through internet me me want to watch it even more. One down side of this would be that everything goes too smoothly but again if you are not quite enjoying the over dramatical moments of dramas it would not be a problem. Honestly I like from time to time to see some tension between the characters and this had me shook that their love was basically true love with perfect trust. The plot ended just right with a more than amazing ending and everything settled down nicely in the end
The actors played nicely and transmitted every emotion well... and nothing seemed faked. The characters resulted commonly were even greater with the two world theme as the game went on and the real life so ever. Whatsoever in my opinion at some times it seemed a bit rushed regarding the normal way human emotions work but I think you can close one eye at that and still enjoy it to it's fullest.
The setting and music were definitely one of the dramas peeks. Maybe compared to other dramas the music wasn't so relevant but it always brighten the mood or didn't overlap to the main parts going on just when needed. The sceneries were beautifully chosen and I think that the way the characters were enjoying the fantasy world of the game is just how real life players do and is quite relatable.
In conclusion rethinking it it is a worthy drama and I'm happy I spent the time to see it. Also I recommend it to others that love gaming or the IT stuff and also for the ones that do love nice romances or simply want something bright and cheerful.

This drama was pretty normal and definitely had an interesting plot, different from the others. I enjoyed watching this drama front start to finish. To be honest i felt it was quite weird that most of their first interactions were online. This drama is pretty cliche but in the end its a good type of cliche if you know what i mean lol.Sorry if you are bothered by any of my grammar/spelling mistakes (if i have any) ^^ I am only one person, I dont have a crew to fix and edit my writing
Please dont come at me if you disagree, this is simply my opinion. ^^
Thank you!

Secondly, the soundtracks are pretty on-point. The opening especially, has a very iconic sound - it fits well with the drama's concept and I actually ended up adding it to my playlist.
Lastly, the concept - romance and video games isn't exactly the classic pairing but this drama made it work - and it was actually very refreshing and adapts very well with the modern era. This drama is very sweet and endearing - very good at showing the innocent sides of a perfect romance story. Unfortunately, that's also where the problem lies -- it's TOO PERFECT.
For pretty much the entirety of the plot, there is almost no real conflict. Boy and girl falls in love and then you get 20+ episodes of nothing but romance. There are some characters who tries to get in the way but it felt like they were merely pebbles in a large plot of land. The character that Yang Yang (male lead) plays is unrealistically too perfect. But despise this major flaw, it somehow was entertaining enough for me to finish it.
If you enjoy light, white vanilla romance, this drama is for you. Plus, pretty sure 90% of you came with Yang Yang anyways.

Very nice story
I really liked this drama. It kind of made me remember my own youth, the RPG games we played, the fun it was making new acquaintances, debating strategies, raising characters, fighting monsters, and winning awards. It is the story of two young people that meet in an online game and fall in love with each other, after discovering who they are in the real life. I liked the female lead because she is a strong character, both in-game and in her real life. She is gentle, friendly, sincere, and has good gaming skills. The male lead was also exceptional, an understanding young man, who pursues his love and wins her heart step by step by supporting her, and empowering her. He is not a misogynist, like so many other heroes, he genuinely loves her. They complement each other, they are each other's strength, they help each other, and they manage to win over bullying. He runs a successful business in the gaming world, proving once again that a hobby can become a passion and a vocation, and a profession. Doing what you like as a professional is another thing I liked about this drama. It is a powerful message. Also, the fact that women can be exceptional in their IT competencies, being equal to men, in a world in which men dominate this field, is also another powerful message of the drama. Although they don't stress enough the peril of game addiction, they show a lot of the benefits of the gaming world, in a gentle manner, balanced by enough situations in which negative aspects of the online communities are shown. It's a realistic perspective, and I recommend seeing this drama. There are a lot of real-life aspects that young people may learn from it.Was this review helpful to you?
Story: 10
The story was one of my favorites. For many reasons, but the number one reason was that it didn’t rely on traditional cliches. The two leads never got into a huge argument, they never broke up, then got back together, they were just two people who went well together and dated. I feel like if they did go the traditional route, of breaking up and getting back together or having misunderstandings there would be many plot holes in this drama just because of how the characters are actually described and portrayed. One reason this wouldn’t have worked and would have gone against the characters is that, both leads like to know all the facts before they jump to conclusions and makes decisions.
The other big story plot that I liked in this piece was that whenever someone tried to say she wasn’t good enough or she got there on her looks she would just nod, than prove them wrong silently with a quick attack, yet she was still portrayed with feminine qualities. (This of course is my own Opinion and others may differ).
Another thing that story had was the slow build up that actually worked and showed how trust was built between characters, that that trust isn’t actually easily broken, unless communication doesn’t happen. There are some things about the relationship that slightly bothered me, but the story plot showed a open and honest relationship between two people that was built over a length of time.
On a last note on the story, if you have read the novel, it sticks to the script of the original piece (the novel) perfectly. This was a good interpretation of the already good original piece. I fully enjoyed the ride and wasn’t disappointed in the least.
Acting/Casting: 10
I know some people had some issues with the casting of the female lead, and I understand why, but for me, her acting was phenomenal as the role. I have watched both the movie and the Show as well as read an English translation of the novel, and this actress was more close to the original text than Angela baby was. Yes I thought Angela Baby didn’t a great job, but I’m not a huge fan of the movie.
Now that has been said, I think the casting for this film was done to a perfect ‘T’. The male lead, Yang Yang, was mysterious and handsome and played the little innuendos perfectly. The female lead, as said before worked the best with him, and in my opinion I thought their chemistry was what really sold me on the acting.
The supporting characters such as Er Xi and Cao Cuong, I wasn’t the biggest fan of in the beginning, but I slowly warmed up to them. Although it did take me re-watching the show to actually like Er Xi’s character in the slightest and this time around I could understand better why she was angry. The complexity of human emotions of getting your heart hurt by everyone only to find out they were hurting her, because of your best friend was really well done. I appreciated the acting more on this note the second time around.
The ‘villains’ were perfect and I liked how the weren’t actually labeled just bad guys that they all were redeemed in some sort of way except for the few who weren’t supposed to be.
To end on a good note, I fell in loved with most of the characters and the ones I didn’t (excluding two) I felt some form of Empathy for that made me enjoy the show even more.
Music: 9.5
I thought the music for this drama was one of the best for teen drama. It was very well placed, the instrumental background music helped established the mood of each scene, the heartache scenes, as well as help build the tension. Even sad mood scenes, instrumental wise that are usually are reserved for the leads or protagonists were also used for the ‘villains’ in the story during their sad moments. It helped expand the characterization of each, even though sometimes characters appeared to be two dimensional.
Rewatch Value: 9.0
I gave the rewatch value a 9.0 because this is one of those dramas that people will love to rewatch if they enjoyed the first watch. Its one of those that when you are tired of other dramas, you want something fresh again, I would come back to this. But I do understand that’s it's not everyone's cup of tea, the leads don’t fight, the drama is slightly mediocre and it's mostly just watching of a build of a relationship that relies heavily on chemistry between actors. So I would highly recommend this for a rewatch value and to keep on your list of dramas to watch on a saturday or sunday afternoon, with the knowledge that not everyone likes Fluffy things.

Story: Love O2O is not a melodrama and also does not feature a lot of dramatic scenes. It is a fluffy romance with some funny scenes inbetween. So if you expect drama or tragedy, you're at the wrong place. If you want to watch a light drama with a sweet couple and some nice side characters, go ahead, this is perfect.
Cast/Characters: The problem with the cast/characters is mostly that the characters are pretty flat. They don't have many quirks and seem mostly like normal people - albeit handsome and beautiful (something that is highlighted too often for my taste). But at the same time they are very likeable. Even those you don't like in the beginning will grow on you until the end. I did wish they developed some of the side stories more.
The music was nice, The gaming scenes were repeated but okay.
Why is it so hard to review? Because for me it would have been nice to summarize the first 10 episodes into like 2 or 3 and then show the rest. The problem with this drama is, it gets interesting at about half-point and everything before is kinda boring and hard-to-watch. But if you make it past that, you get a really nice story and even though the drama is not perfect, it has so many good qualities and is just a nice watch inbetween if you had enough of all the tragedies and drama.
