both are similar in the fact that the lead female goes through a transformation by the way of weight loss.

Both main characters are "ugly" and the plots revolve about them getting their lives on the right tracks,

Both females have a physical insecurity and the male lead is there to help them heal by being their coach/doctor. And who falls in love with them, insecurities and all.

Both shows have a main couple who trust each other and respect each other so there isn't a threat to them.

These are the only two shows I've seen so far where the male is nice to the female, the female and male are both smart, and they talk to each other and trust each other.

One other similarity is the likeability of the secondary characters. John Kim's team and Xiao Nai's roommates are both amazing and awesome characters.

Both are so cute!

Both FLs are learning to move on from their first love. Both are strong and independent women.

Both MLs are nice and confident. They have past traumas to deal with.

Both lead couples are kind and empathetic adults, both couples have good communication between each other with no silly misunderstanding and demonstrate trust in each other.

Both shows are for the most part funny romantic comedies, but they both also have amazing life lessons and messages. Both shows have very direct female leads who are not afraid to say exactly what's on their minds to the male leads, though Seo Ri from 30b17 is much gentler in her approach. Both female leads are super kind, but are not afraid to give others a piece of their mind. Though Seo Ri is much more naive and inexperienced and sometimes isn't aware that she's being manipulated, but in her own funny way she takes care of herself and her sweetness doesn't prevent her from showing her temper when it's called for. Both shows have super romantic and sad moments and LOL moments. Both couples have great chemistry, though 30b17 couple is more naive puppy love and take longer to develop but the payoff is so worth the wait. Sung Hoon is in Oh My Venus and he goes on to have one of the cutest sweetest love stories with Shin Hye Sun from 30b17 right after he did OMV in a lovable family show called Five Children/Five is Enough.

These are completely different plot-wise, but they leave you with a similar feel and strong message. In both dramas, the leads fall for each other while the female lead helps the male face his fears and overcome emotional issues from childhood, and the male lead helps to break down her guarded emotional walls. Plus the supporting cast in both are just as lovable! Add some gif-able comedic scenes and squeal-worthy bromances and you've got a couple of dramas worthy of a 10 star rating IMHO! If you like one then you're sure to like the other.

FL is played by the same actress, Shin Min Ah.

Both dramas are about healing, and being kind to yourself. HCCC focuses more on emotional pain, OMV explores physical scars more. The ML in both have a painful history they are trying to come to terms with, both are gentle, kind and empathetic in their dealings with the people around them.

OMV has a better bromance storyline, but HCCC has a better side story - the town character are a hoot.

Em ambos os dramas o ML tem uma doença grave e afasta a FL para fazer o tratamento...a parceria entre os amigos tanto dele quanto dela...Traição e acidentes que deixam sequelas

The series have leading ladies that are not-so slim and both are carieer women that are not afraid to not be not-so-elegant, speak out for themself. They catch their mates cheating on them with other ladies. Both meet afterwards because of an incident a more atractive male towards whom they start developing feelings. Both have obnoxious, but very slim ladies as rivals.

They have the same Lead actor. In both dramas, So Ji Sub is a man from a rich family even though their attitude and their stories are totally different. Both of the drama genres are comedy and romance but The Master's Sun has a supernatural vibe to it as well. Superb acting and chemistry in both dramas ( even though So Ji Sub's acting has improved so much more in Oh My Venus)

In both the dramas, the female lead changes from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. The women are strong willed and confident which also contributes to attract the male lead.
