It's about a girl which we first see in her highschool years where she's very popular and pretty. Later on we see her in her adult life which is the complete opposite of her highschool life. Well, she got the job she wanted but she gained weight and is unhappy with her lovelife. By accident she meets Kim Yeong Ho who becomes her personal trainer to get a healthier lifestyle. During the drama they get to know one another better and more than better haha :D
I have to say I watched this drama with lots of joy, sure it was dramatic at some points and actually it speaks about a lot of issues people have such as depression, unhealthy living and scars people have to live with, but they made it so enjoyable to watch!
I loved the chemistry between the main cast although I'm actually not a huge fan of the actors, but they brought so much emotion and feelings across that I couldn't take my eyes off them.
I also really liked the supporting roles like Kim Ji Woong and Jang Joon Sung. I loved their character developend and how attached they got to Kang Joo Eun.
The Music was also very good, placed at the right moments, I still have "a beautiful lady" in my ear and can't get it out of my brain xD
I would definitely rewatch this drama just because it makes you smile and it's a beautiful and simple (well "simple" could be argued) romance to fall in love with.

The drama is an example of what motivation and support can do for a person. It proves to us that with the right dedication, one can overcome even the greatest of difficulties. Jang Joon Sung too deals with a troublesome childhood. But with the help of Yeong Ho, he goes onto become a boxing champion. Their brotherhood is shown to be unconditional. Woo Sik and Soo Jin’s relationship is very lovable. They complement each other well. Even though Soo Jin plays the anti-heroine, causing problems for Joo Eun, she is actually very sensitive. The end to Woo Sik & Soo Jin’s story was apt and I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up things. One of the other things that stood out in this drama was Kim Ji Woong’s chirpy nature. His constant “Ma’am, Ma’am” was an absolute delight. The soundtrack of the show is too good and it mixes well with the scene to enhance the sentiments being enacted. This drama is simply amazing and has become one of my all time favorites. I would definitely recommend it to all.

Couldn't stop watching
In the short amount of time that I have discovered Kdramas and watched them, this is my most favorite, I loved everything about it. The acting was excellent and the storyline kept me hooked. I spent way too many late nights watching "just one more episode". It had the right amount of humor, touching moments, uplifting moments and fun! Both leads are among my favorite and worked so well together in this drama. Was this review helpful to you?
Just didn't work for me
I am obviously in a tiny minority here, as everyone else seems to rate this really highly. How I managed to watch all 16 episodes I have no idea, but I just know I'll never get that time back sadly.I liked some of the supporting cast, Henry in particular is OTT but adorable, and the fighter, and the guy that looked after ML in particular. However, I just didn't rate the ML and FL at all, and found them seriously lacking in chemistry. ML had just about 1.5 facial expressions, and I found FL irritating at best, cringey at worst,
I don't know what else to say other than I'm glad that's over!

Granted, I've seen the plot line one too many times. Chaebols? Really? And not only that, but SECRET chaebols? Sure, the weight-beauty-fitness isn't one that is often reappearing in dramaland, but the scorned, prickly guy feels similar to So Ji Sub's Master's Sun character. It feels completely recycled and inorganic, but we're still at Episode 2 anyhow, so here's to hoping So Ji Sub may put an extra edge to John Kim. So far, the way he's been peeling back the layers and characterisation of John Kim, I'm already on my hopeful way to believing that he truly can improve this trope of a character. He plays it deftly, sweetly and unlike usual prickly characters, this one's all gooey and kind and smile-y, and I hope this continues.
Shin Min-Ah's character, so far, has been my favourite thing ever. She retains a strong personality, even through her weight change, and she's never veered from her dream of becoming a lawyer and fighting for what's right. I'm so proud of her, and it's rare to come across a character as level-headed like her who doesn't take her good looks too seriously. Never has she let people define her according to her body weight, and I am happy about that. Kudos to you, woman!
Tonally, the show seems to finally snag on its thematic voice at the end of Episode 2. It's settled on being a high-spirited, fun tone, but with hints of realism in a few places, which is all good and well, as we need more doses of realities in Rom-Coms, just so we can remember that no, this does not all go fluffily and happily. Success isn't achieved by aegyo expressions and prickly bantering.
The music is upbeat, and matches the moments well, but I feel like the comedy needs a bit more of tampering to be much more swift and on-time, because it's poster advertised a light, cute, fun diet loss show and insofar, the comedy has been a liiiittle bit lacking.
I would not rematch this, but don't take it personally, Show, I wouldn't rematch any show at all, really. I've never been much more of a serial re-watcher, mostly because there are SO many more dramas to watch out there. But nonetheless, Oh My Venus, I hope you continue to surprise me and sweep us off our feet!

Fat shaming?
Not sure if I should continue this show. I am on episode 5. I am someone that has always struggled with my weight. It seems like this show is headed in the direction that the ML will not like the FL until she is skinny. And comments about her not being pretty bother me. What happens if later she gains the weight back or gets pregnant etc. Also him acting all surprised when she said she use to be pretty it is obvious she is pretty. Not sure if this is a different way people are viewed in different countries or not. And if they are headed to the romance being after she loses weight then I guess her ex dumping her was justified since her only value was how she looks. If you constantly struggle with gaining weight easy like me so far this show is a bit depressing. A supportive partner is a must where you are not self conscious everytime you gain weight because they love you then and encourage you when you work it off. I was hoping the ML would be like that :(Was this review helpful to you?
