Although I know a lot of people don't like idol actors, I'm a total Suzy fan. I think she played the quirky Noh Eul very well. The other actors were good too and Kim Woo Bin adds to the eye candy. To me Yoo Oh Sung as Choi Hyun Joon had the best acting of all of them. Through all the melodrama, I felt he was real.
The music is okay.
I will never rewatch this.
If you like melodrama as I do, then you are in for a treat.

this drama has something which makes one to hope for more ..i always did..
woo bin's acting is something to praise for.. i really liked the way he portrayed his character.. i liked Suzy's acting as well (unlike others).
and one thing that is amazing is its OST...its one of the best I've ever heard.
i don't rewatch dramas , so i won't recommend it.
i would recommend it to those who like melodramas, its a bit sad one ..it breaks your heart while mending it... give it a try, its worth one..

This drama never fails to make me cry, yet I still love it.
I'm honestly surprised at some of the ratings and comments I see for this drama. Was it flawless? Probably not. But I don't go into shows looking for flaws, and if nothing jumps at me, then I don't care as long as I'm entertained. I honestly don't like tear-jerkers and hate sad/tragic endings, so I don't really watch cancer shows. The only other cancer Kdrama I watched was actually a family drama, but I pretty much cut off once the cancer thing became too serious so I never did finish it. I first watched this years ago so I can't remember what prompted me to even watch it (since I'm not really that big a fan of Bae Suzy) but I imagine it might be in part to do with Kim Woo Bin (who's only other show I watched that I liked him in was School 2013.)This drama makes me cry. Even just thinking about it can make me teary. I don't rewatch it often, but I remember reading an article after I watched the drama that Kim Woo Bin had pulled out of acting because he was diagnosed with cancer in real life after this show, and I nearly had a heart attack. I cried over the drama because he was a little too realistic with his acting, and watching someone in so much pain broke me down. He's finally back into acting again after battling cancer, and I watched this again before looking at his new stuff. I've only seen trailers so far, but I'm excited!
It's still as good as I remember (but I really can't watch that last ep again, it's far too painful.)

Uncontrollably fond review
Oh ok so I decided to check this drama out cus I wanted to cry wholeheartedly. And I love melodramas. But I was rather disappointed tbh I have seen Kim woo bin in heirs and loved him there but his character in uncontrollably fond was just a mess. I did not sympathize with him even a little bit. Uncontrollably fond is a k drama with all the k drama cliches you know the very predictable car accidents and the hospital scenes blah blah. The male lead kept treating the female lead like trash . And literally the whole point of this show was to make the female lead look pathetic. The motive of each and every character in this show has something to do with the female leads life. The plot didn’t stand out to me. I didn’t ship the two leads . None of the characters were likable . I just felt like the writers could have done a better job . But the production and ost are top notch . That’s probably the only thing I like about this drama oh and also our cute second lead coupleWas this review helpful to you?

If you want to cry your eyes out & rage watch something then this is the show for you.
This was the first drama that I’ve watched Kim Woo Bin as the main male lead. It won’t be the last, at least I hope it won’t. His character in this show pissed me off at least twice in every episode but I couldn’t help but love him anyway. I hated the way that he treated No Eul in the beginning and his asshole attitude made me want to punch him in the nuts many times over but for some reason, I’m sure his good looks helped his case plenty (gah, I’m so shallow!), I still felt for him. I wanted to smack some sense into him and then hug him better. His character was complicated and his story was a hard one to get through but I thought Kim Woo Bin’s acting was fantastic and I ate up every scene he was in.Bae Suzy was the female lead in this one and she was another fantastic addition to this cast. I loved her character, I loved the complexity that she brought to No Eul’s character and I just thought she was a great noona to her younger brother, No Jik (even though there were times when he didn’t appreciate her efforts). I also wanted to punch her in the gut more than once each episode. I kept giving her a break though because she was dealt a really shitty life hand and I don’t think I could have survived what she did. As each episode passed, I grew to love her character more and more. My heart hurt for her and though she did stupid things that pissed me off in the beginning, I’m glad that I stuck around because she was one of the strongest characters in the entire show and I really admired her.
The second lead made me want to punch a hole in a wall. I don’t think that I’ve watched a drama where I was so adamantly against the second lead. Everything he did pissed me off and it was like every chance he got, he did something else that made me want to punch him in the dick. Even in the end, I don’t know that I completely came to like him but I didn’t hate him either.
Kim Woo Bin’s Mom in this show pissed me off. It’s one thing for her to be disappointed and hurt with his life choices but for her to take it as far as she did? Manipulating and spreading those hateful comments? That’s stupid, immature, and just flat-out mean. You don’t do shit like that to your kids, no matter how disappointed you are in them. When Joo Yeong finally let his Mom have it, after enduring five years of his mother’s manipulation, I was a giant ball of tears…and even after their big blowout, she still pissed me off. She was such a terrible person. She cared more about the man that left her than her own son. She made him feel like an outsider in his own family and considering everything that he was battling in this show, with every episode where she didn’t back him, it made me hate her more and more.
I’m telling you, this show was so damn messy and I’m not typically the audience for that kind of shit cause I can’t get through shows like Penthouse and Sky Castle (though I’ve tried) but as mad as this show made me, I was compelled to continue. I needed to see how everything came together and I needed to see it all through to the end. I ugly cried through so much of this show that I had to keep pausing to catch my breath and wipe my face cause I couldn’t see the screen. There was much to unpack throughout the entire course of this show and piecing each piece together kept me going but it wasn’t without its drawbacks.
This show touches on a lot of subjects that had me sitting up to take notice. There was much corruption in the people that are supposed to uphold the law and seeing the rich feed on the poor made me just as mad as the characters did. Despite all of that, I watched every episode and I’m not sure what that says about me. Haha. Was the show good? Yes. Was it hard to get through? Also, yes. Would I watch this show ever again? Probably not because that ending? I’m still sorting through how I feel about it. So if you’re in the mood to cry your eyes out, and rage watch something then this is probably the show for you.

The story of UF is mind blowing in my opinion. And obviously it's an emotional rollercoast. If you aren't a fan of suffering during a drama and you don't like melodrama in general you definitely shouldn't watch this. Also, if you want a love story with fluff and some tears and lots of - well - love, that's not what UF is. It is a real story in my opinion everything about this story feels real. It's not a story in which a man falls in love with a woman and tries to do everything to be with her.
You get to see the main character played by Kim Woo Bin who describes himself as a jerk and a female lead played by Suzy who calls herself crazy. Both played their roles very good, the whole cast was amazing. I got annoyed by characters, I cheered for characters and I also hated some characters, which I think is important in any drama.
You already get to see what this drama will be about in the first episode and what continues frustrated me but also excited me, like I said before it was a rollercoast of emotions. Since I want to help people with their decision of wether to watch this drama or not I am going to be very honest: There was a point in the drama when I was so done I wanted to drop it. Not gonna lie. And I am so happy I didn't. Personally I liked the first half of the drama more, but the second half was also very amazing because I couldn't understand the main character for a long while until I realised that it should be this way. During this drama you should ask yourself is he out of his mind and the answer is yes he is but that's what made this drama so good. I had a constant love-hate-relationship with the main character and with the story but because of the ending I decided it was more of a love relationship.
To sum it up if you don't like a plot in which it doesn't go your way and in which you hope for the best outcome this drama isn't something for you. If you look for a drama that touches your heart and that makes you think about life and is realistic and not a beautiful love story then this drama is for you and you shouldn't be reading this but already watching the first episode.
I also want to say something about the AMAZING OST'S in this drama. The ost made everything perfect and I couldn't help but sing along while my eyes were in tears because they were just perfect. If I have to name the best thing about this drama it definitely is the music.
I hope this review was helpful. Have a lot of fun watching UF and some tissues near you because if you aren't a heartless person you'll definitely need them.

Must watch!! I knew that this is the saddest drama ever & I knew that ending would be tragic, but Still i choosed it and I'm glad that i watched it & cried sometimes.????
The plot is awe inspiring. May be some might find it slow at the beginning but with time, story is progressed... Last 4 episodes will hooked you up and lead to a realistic ending. That was good. ????
I don't know what to say about acting.. Everyone's acting would leave you wonderstruck. Specially Kim Woo Bin.. this is his first drama I've watched & I totally admire his acting. He is soo good. And Suzy, she is already Soo good actress .. and in this one too... She did a great job, both of them are just too fit in their character .Their acting would leave you wonderstruck.
All OST was beautiful and well matched to the concept. 'A little braver' is fabulous.
If you like rom-com , and want to watch some sensitive. This is must watch. It will end with sad ending but still there’s a little happiness in to too. ❤️????

Contrary to the opinion that most seemed to have, I didn't see a lot of faults in Suzy's acting. Woo Bin made my heart hurt as much as he made it flutter, nothing new there. The other actors did a good job too.
Overall I liked it and I don't regret watching it at all. It hit me in the feels which is what they wanted to do, I suppose, so they were successful.

Kim Woon Bin shone among the mess of this melodrama
Shin Joon Young (Kim Woo Bin) and Noh Eul (Bae Suzy) were high school sweethearts who broke up but reunite years later as an idol actor and a filmmaker. As they work together filming his documentary, Joon Young endeavors to mend their relationship and win her heart back. This is not really a romance, rather a potential romance with a melodramatic back story turns into a revenge mission. I found this revenge plot was really dull and not thrilling, but I watched it to the end for Joon Young. If someone can get crowned for portraying a terminally ill person, Kim Woo Bin deserves it! I think his character could easily be messed up due to over-the-top drama, but he played the charming jerk persona of Joon Yeong just perfectly, from confident smirk to ugly tears to polarizing breakdown due to his growing illness, how heartbreaking and believable.
Though his story was so sad, I did not cry the whole time watching this. How come? I felt annoyed with No Eul and her motivation, she's a hassle and keep making reckless decisions. This is not to fault Suzy because she has great chemistry with Woo Bin. It's her character I couldn't sympathize with despite her struggles. Finally, it was a good ending, it felt justified and concluded. Something that I've been missing a lot in dramas in these recent years.
