The movie is good, got me hooked all the time. Lu Han acting was pretty good, I wasn't expecting it haha
The female lead also did a great job, I felt her emotions and pain.
You should watch because is a really nice thriller and action.

I write this review, while having seen both of the movies, at the end I will write a little comparison between the two.
The story is quite attractive and unique if it is your first time to see it. I loved how they could come up with tiny twitst and turns. The story overall was good but not great, it had some flaws.
The oscar should go to the dog. Seriously, Chong Chong was a amazing actor in this movie and so cute too! I liked the two main leads, it is so hard to portray a blind person, so she did a amazing job on this one. But I so didn't feel the connection between the two main leads, and that killed it for me because it could have been so much better. What I eventually really liked was that there was no romance involved, yay!
I liked the music, because.. well we all know why :P.
There sadly was much promotion during the movie for certein brands, that also what I really disliked.
In comparison to the korean movie Blind, I was less involved with this movie. With Blind I really felt with the main leads and dog. Also Blind was wrapped up way better than witness, but I could understand where they were coming from. Overall I didn't disliked witness, but I just liked Blind better for the overall story and character development.
Watch this is you like action, drama, thriller and dogs.
Skip this movie if you are looking for romance.

Story: This story was great. It was well written and I actually prefer this version over the korean version because it explained things better and was more clear. This movie is very easy to follow along with and is a no brainer when it comes to comprehension. I like how they portrayed the story here.
Acting/Cast: I don't understand why people are saying the acting in here is awesome? Their acting was basic and I did not feel attached at all. The acting in the korean movie is way better, but their acting is ok. just ok.
Music: Meh
Rewatch Value: This movie is pretty good but I won't rewatch this even though it's less scarier than the korean version.
Overall: Overall, I recommend this drama if you're looking for a decent thriller/crime movie. If you're a frequent thriller watcher, skip. Romance lovers, skip.

I was expecting something thrilling and mysterious, but somehow I ended up laughing with WTF remarks more. I cannot utter my disappointment with the massive loopholes in the story line. Having said that I have never watch the original movie before nor going to comment how they have to stick with the initial plot.Just mainly reviewing this movie by itself, there are too many cliches coincidence that save the day, eg motorcycle that is lying in aisle that has no one or dog that only bites once the attacker safely attacked (cant you attacked from the very beginning?), or even I dont understand why the sister need to take the lil brother away from the start if he was that popular.
The ending is far the worse to be honest. So many wtf moments where they are trying to make it sounds touching but plainly stupid in my opinion. When you can attack the bad person why would you hit him only once and then trying to pick up wounded blind woman to a locked door (shouldnt you hit him couple more times, open the door then pick up the wounded blind lady?) The sequence doesnt make any sense to me at all. And when the male lead hitting the bad person, whats the point of asking the blind lady to wake up and keep on getting hit by the attacker? What could have the blind lady do? In real life, if some psycho is attacking these 2, they would have been dead by now, not all the touching bullshit. The worse one for me is how the bad person actually knocked down with a wood ukulele/small guitar without even destroying the ukulele.
Honestly i was expecting so much on this movie with the high ratings and review but I am utterly disappointed. It would have been a nice movie if they sharpen the stories a bit to make it more realistic? The touching parts drag the story line so much to the hill. I actually rated it to 5 because it could have been a nice movie with good meaning eg meeting stranger is dangerous etc but the unrealistic loopholes just kill it.

Excellent performances by the entire cast makes this edge-of-your seat thriller engaging from beginning to end. You are drawn in by the kindness of the policemen investigating the case, scared out of your mind by the evil killer, and enchanted by the adorably young and brave witness. The well-written script grabs you from the beginning and keeps you from catching your breath until you finally hear those police sirens signifying the end of climax.
Watch this one. It’s worth it!

Fascinating and thrilling
I find this movie quite interesting. Yang Mi's acting here is way much better than some of the series that she has acted in. I actually like the tough Yang Mi compared to a few previous shows I watched of hers that is like a weak female. She also doesn't sound that high pitch and softie in this movie either. If you are looking for some action and mystery and thrilling + excitement and you find the synopsis to your interest, then this would be an interesting first watch. There are a variety of action, suspense and not to mention sad moments.I was definitely watching with gripping "omg what will happen after this" moments but I will say that I bawled my eyes out seeing how the guide dog died. That was heart jerking and my extremely in need of alot of tissues moment. But other than that, it definitely is a recommended movie for people who love action and thrillers.

Story (9.5):
Okay, hardly any story can be completely perfect and while this had its flaws more notably in police work and back story, I didn't hardly notice anything while watching. And I'm not talking major police work flaws--they were actually refreshingly intelligent after coming from K-Dramas--or flaws in the MC back story. I felt that her back story was done very well and wrapped up pretty nicely. I've heard others saying that this movie wasn't closed off quite as well as Blind, and while I'll have to watch Blind to see (haha) for myself, I didn't think this ended all that badly.
Frankly, I was really glad they didn't throw in any romance like some movies might try. This movie had plenty going on without romance and I'm not watching a movie called The Witness because I want to see some people locking lips. Praise the heavens. Plus from me.
Acting/Cast (9.0):
All the main actors were very good, though there was one part I felt the MC was a bit stale; other than that almost all the supporting actors were top notch and props to the dog! The dog was a very good actor :)
I don't really have much more to say on this other than that the antagonist was pretty good, but I've definitely seen better acting for this type of role in my Asian drama wanderings.
Music (9.0):
I'm basing this off the fact the music buoyed the story very well and the songs (i.e. music with words) were good. Normally I wouldn't rate this high on music unless it was something I loved and would download and listen to frequently, but I couldn't pass up a 9 when I saw that the band musicians were ACTUALLY SEMI PLAYING THE RIGHT NOTES OMG. No faked musicians here. Thank you so much. Every true musician cringes when they see fake musicians on screen.
Rewatch Value (10.0):
I would watch this again. I'm going to watch Blind no question. After that I might watch it with a friend. Nothing I'll watch over and over and over again, but then there isn't a single thing out there that I would. It's very hard for movies to get a 10 on rewatch from me because there's so little content compared to a drama and I get bored of stuff pretty easily if it's repetitive.
Overall (9.5):
Rounding up a bit, I'll total as 9.5. There weren't any parts I felt cringey on or were poorly setup. The flow and cinematography were all amazing and packed together with a fast paced horror/mystery/detective story... I was very surprised by how much I liked this. Highly recommended.

The story was good. It had emotion and as I said before, thrills and plot twists. Definitely didn't predict the reasoning behind the motive of the villain in this movie. I was surprised by that which was nice. I haven't seen the Korean movie that this movie was based off of so I can't make any comparisons or say which one was better but this movie was entertaining and fun. This movie did remind me of a Terrance Young movie, called Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn...ESPECIALLY the ending action scene which was kind of cool. There were a few lose ends that were never answered in the movie such as what was the deal with music box...maybe if I watched the Korean version, that would be explained but overall I liked the story. Also there was one scene in the movie that I HATED for an obvious reason but I don't want to spoil anything. The minute you watch this movie, you will know what scene I am talking about (it is very sad). The music also was great because of course it swelled with the action and was emotional during the sad scenes.
Also, shout to the creative cinematography in this movie! It really portrayed how a blind person interprets the world such as this one scene where the main male lead and the blind woman had to do a video chat so he could be her eyes and the movie's cinematography made it sometimes the audience's perspective so we could feel the main woman's interpretation through the phone lens...I thought that was REALLY clever.
I thought the acting in this was good as well. It was the first time I saw Lu Han in anything and I didn't think he was too bad (I only know him as a member of EXO)...I would be willing to check some of his other stuff out because of this movie. One of my favorite actresses is Yang Mi so naturally I loved her. I thought she portrayed a blind woman very well and her emotional acting was great. I also liked that there was no romance in this movie. That was very refreshing.
Overall I liked this movie a lot. It had the right amount of suspense and action. I am a SUCKER for crime movies and crime dramas so this one is right up my alley. WATCH THIS MOVIE if you want a good entertaining movie on a rainy weekend or night.

Overall, it was really good. There was kind of a slow start but I COULD'T give up on it. I ended up loving it so much, I rewatched it a week later.
I'm normally quite an emotional person. With this drama, I think I cried a grand total of 2.5 times with the first watch and 1.5 with the second. It was such a good movie. There were a few scenes in particular (not gonna spoil) that I literally replayed 50 times. I'm also so glad I watched until the end--DO NOT STOP WATCHING THIS BEFORE THE END--because the end was so amazing. The end was also not cliché at all, which was kind of what I was expecting. That's another thing: This movie is NOT what you are expecting and will surprise you MULTIPLE times. That's probably what kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time.
