Kaitou Yamaneko (2016)

both are campy dramas about a ragtag group of thieves who like to steal from the rich and corrupted accompanied by nice bgm

Both have the same Robin Hood-esque, team of thieves vibe. Great music, story, and expressive actors.

Crook that catching crook. The main lead was a thief, a law breaker, a villain in the public eyes but the reality intention was to against the real evil. Lots of twisting plot.

Both involve a masked hero that defies the system. Both are action oriented. The Bridal Mask focuses more on melodrama, while Kaitou Yamaneko is more about (black) comedy.

If you liked the high energy zaniness of Yamaneko's ensemble cast, you might enjoy the cartoon like energy of the sitcom After School. Although the plots are polar opposites, the energy levels are similar. After School follows the antics of a high school club of hot dudes that draws random "missions" from a box. Their club president, a shy girl tricked into the role, helps them complete their tasks. They might have to dress as a dog for a day, get on TV, or sleep with someone.

both are detectives of some sort but aren`t police. have a police contact though. both wear disguises to solve cases

If Yamaneko was a cop. basically. If you loved Yamaneko you'll love Keiji Yugami. Both eccentric moral heroes in their own ways.

It has Kamenashi Kazuya. Its hilarious and comical. Its kamenashi's latest drama and he has given another memorable performance.

Both dramas are set in Japan (even if Pandora's Box is a cdrama).

Both dramas are short and weird. With Pandora's Box, the weirdness comes from the sci-fi elements and the plot. With Yamaneko, the weirdness mostly comes from the characters.

Both dramas have a similar kind of surprise villain.

These dramas are very different in many ways, but I did think of Yamaneko a few times while I was watching Pandora's Box.

When I try to describe Yamaneko, I usually say "It's like Healer, if Healer was a crazy guy who makes cat noises."
