Okay, I watched this series and for the first time ever in my miserable life, I read the book of an actual movie/Tv show. This is overall, the best BL I've seen, acting and storyline are a 100% superb. If I made a list, I think this series could easily rank among my top 3 TV series of all time. Because of how emotionally attached I am to this series, I even dare to dream that more seasons would come out.
I must add that although Korn and Knock are my favorite TV couple of all time, Bai Luo Yin and Gu Hai are a fierce competition.

I thought it got off to a slow start, but developed into I feel the best Chinese BL drama. Just 0.5 off for that and wondering where it's going which nearly made me stop watching. It's very sweet and natural, as others have said, though Chinese productions tend to be raw at the edges and unsophisticated by Korean and Japanese standards. But they are handsome lads and the story keeps you watching, especially towards the end and the acting has a lot of passion. But where did the (brief) love triangle come from, I think I missed something at the beginning. ? and it's just getting interesting and with stories more than just a school drama when……….? Last episodes great BL romance but the ending…………eh?? eh??!! what happened??? ban for what??

PS Oh I should just say I hope they wore warm clothes beneath those track suit uniforms because I've been to Beijing and it gets d*** cold.

This series is definitely one of the best BL themed shows I've ever watched. When I found out that the cast consists of newbies and that the series is such a low budget production, I was pretty much shocked because I didn't notice at all. That's why I gave the acting a 10/10. Compared to other series or movies it's just awesome because everything feels so real and not awkward (except the fighting scenes maybe). Also the music is always appropriate because I never felt like it didn't fit.
I gave the story a 8/10 because just some things were unclear to me or I just wasn't able to relate to the character's actions. Apart from this, the plot was pretty good. Not too stereotyped but also not too crazy.
Rewatch value: 9/10, just because I don't really like re-watching series and also because I think that the beginning kept dragging on.

All in all, I love Addicted a lot and I definitely won't lose hope for a second season!! *sheds a tear* (Who am I lying to? It's more than just one.) Whatever, I will keep following my 2 favorites' (Chen Wen and Ling Fengsong aka. Yang Meng and You Qi) social media. :)

This is the second bl series that i have watched and it really intrigued me to the point that I need to read the whole 2 novel online. Then I found myself rewatching the series for many times whenever I have a free time.

The plot is totally different from the original novel but its fine. What most important for me is at least bailouyin and guhai got a perfect representation thru timmy and johnny. Unconsciously, I keep remembering their faces when I read the 2nd part novel. The background music is very nice to hear although i don’t know chinese language.

Although the series is incomplete, for me it is unforgettable.

Addicted Heroin ruined me for another BL web series especially considering that this was my first BL drama. This drama open the doors to me for BL romance, The chemistry between Gu Hai (Huang Johnny) and Bao Luo Yin (Xu Wei Zhou) was amazing, I would never have thought that this was their first drama. Although we do not really get to experience the side characters relationship as much you still grow to love the chemistry that happens between them as well.
Characters
Gu Hai was the typical bad boy in this drama, he was big, tough, and had a chip on his shoulders. What I love about this drama was that Gu Hai was clearly the dominant one in the relationship. He was not afraid to express his thought and feelings and even himself into Bao Luo Yin life. The biggest surprise came from Bao Luo Yin, who was the typical top class student. He was arrogant, smart, but also kind to his friends, what blew me away was the fact that he was also dominant (just not as much as Gu Hai). He did not let Gu Hai do whatever he wanted without making the consequence know. Bao Luo Yin unlike Gu Hai did not just roll with the punch and often had to fight his feeling but also Gu Hai feelings as well.
Storyline
The storyline was great, it was realistic and made sense. There not of much I can review it without spoiling it. The issue that made the storyline lacking was the jumping. Due to a ban on "sexual scene" in China, there was a lot of scenes that were cut which often leaves you confused. I found myself nearly falling off the bed when the scenes getting intense to scratching my head and asking how in the world we end up somewhere else. Okay, it's not that bad, most of the time it is easy to follow how you got from point A to point B it just annoying because the chemistry is so good ( better than some opposite sex couple dramas) you often feel like your missing something.
Overall
The web series is amazing it funny, dramatically, and the romance is to die for. Its worth the rewatcth, which is exactly what I'm about to do and will go down in my book as one of these best (if not the best) BL dramas.

Do you love sexual tension? Who am I kidding, of course you do

If you're looking for something with a lot of sexual tension and steamy, fairly explicit scenes, I can't recommend this one enough. While in many ways the plot of this show is cliche, there IS definitely an overarching plot, and it's interesting enough to keep your attention between bedroom scenes. Also, while the two main characters are technically step-brothers, this is a very minor plot point and is almost negligible. If you're worried that the incest vibes will be too strong, I can assure you they're only there if you squint.

As for the acting, Timmy Xu tries his best to keep up and does well enough, but Johnny Huang steals the show. He really carries a lot of their scenes. Genuinely, if a less talented actor had been in the role of Gu Hai this might have been a lot cringier than it was, so let's all say thank you to Johnny!

Now, on to one of my favorite parts about this BL: the soundtrack. Music can be such a hit or miss with most BL, but I'm happy to say that the soundtrack for this series is actually really nice. Like REALLY nice. The acoustic guitar sometimes reminds me of The Princess Bride, and the steamy scenes usually have an appropriately steamy song that doesn't kill the mood or sound like something out of a bad por*no movie.

One last note: this drama is SHORT. The episodes are barely 25 minutes each, so you can easily plow through this show in a weekend, or even a long night if you have nothing else to do. The show was cut from the air before it could finish airing, but I actually don't think this matters in the slightest. The episode they left on wrapped things up quite nicely with the main relationship, and while there were a few arcs that remained unfinished, overall I was very satisfied with the ending we got.

THIS MIGHT BE A WRONG ADDICTION, BUT I LIKE IT!

The story in it's core was amazing, but there is one thing that didn't exactly sit right with me and that is the intimate scenes that portrayed a "dubious consent" rather than an "explicit" one and that explains why i only gave it a six. Other than that, this drama is a real masterpiece. The chemistry between them whether it was onscreen and offscreen was quite outstanding. This drama was popular for a reason and that reason is obviously the two male leads. Huang and Xu showed us how capable and incredibly talented they both are. This drama was so popular back then and remains the most popular boy love series ever made from mainland China till this day. Despite the phenomenal success of the drama, it was revealed that its second season was permanently cancelled, and the government unofficially banned the two actors from appearing at any events or on television together. However, there was a rumor about a second season being filmed in Taiwan in 2019. It would be amazing if the both of them reprise their role.

I stumbled upon this on Viki, not expecting much, and it blew me away. I watched it in one go and believe me, this is one of those shows that sticks with you and leaves an impression long after you’ve watched it. I originally gave this show a 9.5 because of the ending. However, I changed it to a 10 because, in the end, the rest of the story was just THAT good. If you want to read their story and find out what happens after, click on this link: http://saehan01.com/chapters-1-111/
I highly recommend reading the books. They are an easy, exciting read and it will engross you. Don’t expect to get much done because once you start the books, you won’t be able to put them down.

This was a surprise winner for me. I actually didn't know what this story was about when I first embarked on this journey. And I was addicted, like it was heroin. I felt a rush through out the entire 15 episodes, I kept wanting to know what will happen next . When I finally got to the end, it left me feeling incomplete and desperate for more answers, so I scoured the web and found the original Chinese web novel and chow it down in record time. Overall, the entire drama to novel and back to drama journey has been an surreal experience to say the least, one that I would not easily forget.

About the ending... I don't want to give anything away, but if you are like me and felt you want more, here is the link (http://www.56wen.com/txt/12035.html) to the Chinese original web novel. It is 70 sections long and the drama ended in mid section 21. So yeah, I felt like I have hit the jackpot! I enjoy the writing very much and the drama mostly followed the novel, so it followed the same theme as the drama, I just couldn't stop.

About the drama... I loved the drama, I loved the cast, and I loved the story. It didn't set up the 2 main characters as one lowly and one privileged like hundreds of other dramas that I have watched. These 2 characters are so genuine, so much alike , so honest, and their relationship is so organic. Their love for each other is so related-able, I almost want to swing that way but at last lack the proper equipment. The young actors did a wonderful job, portrayed such love and tenderness while showed off their natural masculinity. It was definitely a good drama. The story is so gripping that you may not notice the rough around some edges. I am sure the funding was limited due to the fact that it was a web production, but it does not disappoint.

About the music... I have to mention that the one song that stood out most for for me was by Twinbed titled "Trouble I'm in". I have been addicted to it since I've found it. You can find it on youtube through this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvW63QsIxts&list=RDOvW63QsIxts&index=1)

I hope you will watch this drama and read the web novel to see where it will take you. Have a good journey!

Fairly disappointing

The ending was left so open for a second season that it honestly ruined it for me. I really wanted it to turn from a hate to love story with harmless pranks that developed into natural feelings of attraction but the resulting relationship just seemed toxic. Also, Hai was constantly trying to grope Yin and it wasn't portrayed as playful but forceful. I get that both are teenagers and will be horny, but it was borderline harrassment. I was also hoping for more character development from both guys that just didn't seem to happen.

Being sexually assaulted is romantic???

These people that give this show 10/10 do they think being sexually assaulted is romantic? Being kindapped, thrown on a bed and someone trying to force on you is romantic?
First red flag was when he begged Bai Luo Yin to masturbate togther, he says no but Gu Hai is keep pushing and pushing him. Everyone praises this show and says it's one of the best shows ever when in reality this kind of relationship would be so damn toxic in real life. And I know this is just a show and not real life. But people actually finding this romantic is all kinds of disturbing to me. After the kidnapping, this should be it for Bai Luo Yin and he should cut all ties with that guy. It's just really sad how lots of cute fluffy shows are overlooked while people glorify rape culture. Maybe if the scenario would be different then maybe people would start to think? If Bai Luo Yin was a girl would people think differently? Or would they still find this romantic?

The actors did a great job, that's why I am giving them 10/10. The story gets 2 because of all of these rapey things that happen.

Meng and Youqi are amazing characters btw! I kinda wish Youqi was Bai Luo Yin's love interest bth. Or even Meng, he's so sweet and bubbly.

Problematic

I really wanted to like this series since it's so popular, but watching it was soooooo uncomfortable. Gu Hai forcing himself on Bai Luoyin even though throughout the entire series he never seems to reciprocate his feelings isn't romantic, it's creepy and abusive. It's a shame, because the acting is great at the story had so much potential up until Gu Hai KIDNAPS Bai Luoyin and starts pressuring him so much that I could not continue to watch. Why is it so hard to create a romance drama that doesn't involve emotional and physical abuse?
