about the actress playing yeon joo, i liked her, the acting was nice, didn't feel like she was going overboard when depicting an emotional scene. however, i just wished her character was somehow... idk... BETTER?? seriously disliked the fact that she didn't have much to do other than romance, doing emotional scenes and following what other characters told her to do... i don't want to be unnecessarily harsh though, bc i know this is how it works in the drama world lol.
all the other actors did an amazing job, especially oh seong moon and han seol!! they both played their roles with convinction!
the plot was really interesting, i personally never watched anything like this so it felt very original and well done!! i just wished the writing was better in some parts, but otherwise the whole story was pretty interesting and engaging. you don't feel like dropping the drama at all!!
the music was nice, not amazing, not bad... didn't LOVE it but didn't dislike it either, so it was average for me.
rewatch value? maybe no, because i don't watch the same thing again twice lol, and anyways you know all the twists, it wouldn't feel like the first time. but it is a good and engaging drama to watch, hence if you're hesitating, you should definitely give it a try!!
for me it's a 7/10!

THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN OUR MAIN COUPLE: Our main couple Oh Yeon-Joo(played by Han Hyo-Joo) who is the daughter of the author of the webtoon "W", and our main hero of the webtoon Kang Chul(played by Lee Jong-suk). The chemistry was there! Was it over the roof? No, but it was still there and that's important!
HOW IT ENDS(*Mild spoilers*): I expected much sadder Ending then we got, that shocked me(don't know really why). For me the ending was satisfying, I really liked the last episode. To be very honest it felt a little rushed, but still good.

Good plot, FL character is frustrating
The story was well done but towards the end, I did have frustrations towards the FL's lack of urgency. I mean, the man she loved was about to die and she was still walking. Really? My favorite part of the drama was probably the manhwa effects as they were very well done and edited. I feel like the chemistry between ML and FL was not that strong but it didn't hinder the plotline too much so it was okay. Since the story itself already had more than the lead's romance, I was still able to watch it despite my intense frustration with the female lead. Was this review helpful to you?

Professor Mad Dog's words were my biggest fear
Heard that this show is great and all so many times and people cried alot on this show. Finally gave it a try after watching Extraordinary You.The drama started off really well. Like really i was intrigued by this. (happened with Extraordinary You, like it had potential but went down the hill after few eps). And this one, I say was better than that. I skipped so much in EY but not here coz the twits were good keeping you at the edge of seat but then went it started to come to an end, the show kept Playing toss the ball. It kept going in circles. Even though there was need to skip of FF in this drama still felt a bit draggy.
Story: Very good plot but came a bit boring in some parts. Felt few things were unnecessary. And obviously like their professor said that "after oh Yeon Joo came into the story it lost its essence" i thought I'd feel the same. Well, romance ruin good action, thriller or crime dramas. I was worried that this drama oy going to follow romance side after episode where she requests him to do sweet things for her. And I might drop it. So i feel the words he said. But thankfully, that wasnt the case. Romance felt off. Like we don't know how she got attached to him. She was fine and wanted to save him because she liked him despite him trying to kill his father. Thought there would be some hatred or a bit a dissatisfaction but no. And don't understand why ML fell for her? Maybe because she helped him when she was shot? Got swayed only after she saying Saranghae with no feels. FL was a bit idk... Didn't really become of fan of her character. ML's role was great then kept going up and down. Maybe if they went as per Manhwa it'd have been better than twisting and adding things to the story.
Acting : FLs actions weren't always touching. Sometimes when she cries it felt like she was 'acting'. And MLs action scenes kinda made me laugh. But rest was fine. Even his acting felt lacking sometimes. The other cat was fine.
Music : not sure about this. Didn't pay attention.
PS- The drama was good, watchable. Didn't skip much or probably not at all. Timed well. But downside was story was going in circles and sometimes felt repetitive (maybe it did). If they reduced the extra 'drama' in that maybe it'd have been and enjoyable watch. Recommended but not a re-watch type. Maybe if I watched when it Aired, my rating would have been different.
Overall a good show (probably because I didn't expect anything when I started). Recommended? Yes. But need to patient because twists make it longer.

Final thoughts after finishing:
After finishing it the drama actually made up for all the numerous flashback, repeats, and cliches. I was actually satisfied with the ending. It was a little sad, but it was for a good cause. I only wished the context of the rules between worlds was more clear. It seemed as some advantages characters had just weren’t as clear to me as I would’ve hoped. I still think the female lead lacked in performance. I think expressions were over exaggerated, but also her constant starring without saying anything bothered me. I honestly didn’t know how it would end. It ended well. I’m also satisfied how the romance was knotched down and made the drama more likeable for me. In the beginning it was just to cringe for so early in the show. Other than that I’m satisfied with the drama. However there were some parts I think were stretched out too long, I get that 16 episodes is usually the lowest for dramas, but this drama could’ve ended in about 12 episodes if things weren’t stretched out.

Second Favorite Drama EVER
I started this show and got about an episode or so in and then I stopped to watch something else and I can't remember why. Then I sort of never went back. I jumped from drama to drama. Then suddenly I kept remembering this drama I had watched previously with an athlete who's family is murdered and he's blamed and I tried searching EVERWHERE for MONTHS and found nothing. One day, after I'd given up my search, I saw W sitting in my unfinished list so I restarted it and instantly was like, "OMG it's been under my nose the whole time!!!" So I restarted it and it was just amazing.
Once you get a few episodes in it goes from good to great. I also love anything Lee Jong Suk is in (because I saw him in this and fell in love). lol Definitely a re-watch.

The first k-drama i watched and the one who made me want to continue watching them. The concept itself is intriguing, the main characters are really well acted in a way is never cringy and every episode leaves you wanting more.
But i found myself really disapointed on episode 15 and 16, the build up and tesion created from episodes before made the ending felt flat and confusing.
The best was the acting and while the writting of the main couple could have been better the chemistry between both actors was nice.
Overall i still enjoy it and even recommend it for the people who start watching dramas and want to have a good time or at least be entrainted because you defently are.

Started to watch because of Lee Jong Suk stayed also for him and the plot
I really enjoyed the show and watched it in three days. Sorry university assignments... The story was so immersing I wanted to know what would happen next. What has the writer planned next? I have read that some people disliked the second part of the story and I can understand that. I also think the first part of the story was much more well written. Why does it almost always feel like K-dramas start really strong but near the end the story flops? Before this drama I watched Extraordinary You. Both have the same idea that the story is manhwa related. The setting is slightly different though. Not going to write anymore about EY since spoilers but personally I liked W's setting more. In W there is a popular manhwa called W that is thriller. The main character has tragic past and is trying to find the killer who murdered his family. He is millionaire who has a strong sense of justice, is good looking and popular with ladies. Sounds interesting thriller and action manhwa that I would read. If the manhwa is connected to real world the story could go to any way right?
So of course they don't write the story that would be more interesting in my opinion. They emphasize romance over the thriller. And the romance isn't even that well written. Don't get me wrong. I didn't dislike the female lead. I just think that the chemistry wasn't that strong. Also Kang Chul's character changes too much when he falls in love with the female lead. I dislike the fact that one woman becomes his top priority when he could have had also other things he could have focused on. Of course love as well but not as the main thing. Imagine if they would have written passionate sexual relationship between the main leads (then the female lead should be different) and kept Kang Chul in character. Not as a sweet romantic type. But I guess they wanted to take the poorly written romance path then. In my opinion they wasted Kang Chul's potential as a character. He was still awesome though.
Nonetheless I was still addicted to the drama. Wanted to see more of hot Lee Jong Suk as Kang Chul. Wanted to find out who was the killer. Wanted to know how W (the manhwa) ends. W was really enjoyable ride with plot holes and twists here and there. It wasn't perfect and I felt a bit betrayed by the drama but that's usually what happens with K-dramas so nothing new. My final verdict is that the drama would have been a lot better if the romance part would have been different. Maybe not so high lighted. I think I'm going to rewatch the show at some point for getting more clear picture about it.

W : a wonderful show but a bad execution
Honestly, this show kept me hooked im not gonna lie. it was very good, especially at the start but it all started going down once the storyline kept getting dragged and there were plot holes everywhere.Whilst the romance was good, there was very less character development on the FL's side and her work seemed unrealistic, she was a cardiothoracic surgeon i don't think she'd have that much free time but then again its all fictional.
Kang Chul's storyline was very nice, hence why i have the story a 9/10, would've been 10 if it didn't have so many plot holes and it wasn't dragged.
The ending was okay? it left me a little disappointed but from what i remember (i watched this long time ago) it had a good ending so i cannot complain on that behalf.
The actors... the ML's acting was incredible but the FL... meh not that plausible but it was still good enough. All the other characters seemed pretty okay.
Now the main reason i have this an 8 was because of the rewatch value. This may not apply to everyone but i had a very hard time watching this. I kept skipping parts or speeding them up and I'd constantly stop the episodes and come back. It was either in the filler episodes or when things would get too spicy. Eitherways i wouldn't re-watch it again. I don't think its cause of the psychological aspect cause for example It's okay not to be okay focuses on psychology and its much deeper than W but unlike W, id rewatch IONTBO a million times.
I just think that it could've been better but i still remember that i enjoyed this and i binged watched it too so it couldn't have been that bad. It was just the continuous plot holes and the constant skipping of parts that makes me not want to re-watch it or rate it any higher than 8. Which by the way i think its a generous rating but i enjoyed it and the show made me cry so its okay. would recommend it but to your own risk!!

Some like, some hate, some moderately liked:I went through these three opinions
Honestly, it's very hard to review this drama because the opinions are very clear-cut: either we loved it, or we liked it a little, or we absolutely hated it.Personally, I went through all these opinions while watching this drama.
I hated it:
- From the middle to the end of the story. It doesn't make sense anymore, we could finish the drama at episode 12
- The acting of the main actress, which sometimes is really bad. However, we see a real evolution of her acting in the drama. She is good at the end hm.
- The 15 min rewinds before each episode.
I loved it:
- The main actor is really excellent. I really didn't think he was great at the beginning but he is just made for this job and this role.
- The beginning of the story : I think the main plot is really good but the explanations are too bad.
- The fact that sometimes I was surprised and/or sad: some scenes really gave me chills etc.
- The FX but woooooooooow. The work of the artists is impressive!
Basically I wanted to put 5 but in truth I still had a good time and not listening to other reviews, this note is personal and only based on my feeling! The drama itself is not worth 7. I would not watch it again but I still wanted to finish this drama.

Worth the watch
I truly wanted to rate this higher. I really loved the concept and actually thought to myself, this show is amazing and I'm already sucked in within the first 1/2 hour. I was sure this was going to be a solid 10. But as the I watched more episodes, unfortunately, I found the main female character to be so weak and it kinda ruined it for me a little bit. Aside from that, I would still definitely recommend this drama and it is worth the time. Was this review helpful to you?
