Wow, this drama was pure brillaince. The start was fast pace and even when it seemed slow you were so caught up in the moment that it didnt bring down the movie.

Although some may say this drama was too emotional I believe that its a good thing, these kids went from fighting over nothing to fighting for their dream. I feel that this movie struck every chord that I expected and even hit some key points that I didnt expect. The tone of the movie switches well and I have to admit that I seriously stayed up at night telling myself "only one more episode." This drama is in my top 10.

I'm a little biased when it comes to sport movies, especially baseball ones. One of the main reasons why i decided to watch it. Ive seen other baseball dramas and I've always been eh about them..

but this one was great. i absolutely loved it. It's more than just a baseball drama. it's about coming together as a team again after all hell breaks loose. It has it's real serious moments but it also has a lot of comedic moments so it balances out well.

I love the cast. they all work well with each other and all play yankees i guess well lol

love the music. GReeeeN always has great songs and kiseki is just simply an amazing song.

would easily recommend this drama to people

Even though I'm not a big fan of the "teacher reforms the students" genre, Rookies is very well done. It really gets you emotionally involved to where you can rejoice when the team rejoices and weep when the team weeps. I can see why it won best drama for the season it aired in. I enjoyed it a lot. I also thought that it made for an excellent allegory of Christianity since Kawato sensei was, IMO, the most Christ like character in any drama I've seen. He constantly believed in his students and encouraged them into healing, transformation and recovering their dreams. Oh and the baseball games were intense. They were my favorite part of the show. The drama involved made the games very exciting. There's also a nice episode layout where it's not episodic like many other teacher dramas. The one flaw however would be that if you were to marathon it you might get a little sick of the heartwarming moments, there's a lot of them. Thankfully I took a couple days break between some eps so I didn't, but I could see how someone could.

Rookies is full of speeches and if you think, well that's to be expected, it's based on a sports manga but let me re-iterate, Rookies is full of speeches. At times heart-warming and motivational, at times requiring a fast forward because it wore me down. I do wish there were more baseball games to focus but the central focus of the drama is the baseball club and their relationships with each other.

I don't even know if I have to explain the genre because if you're familiar with the whole delinquents becomes good because of a teacher trend, well, this is it. However, this is more focused on baseball. These delinquents will face a lot of trials in order to not only gain acceptance but rescind their mistakes.

Where Rookies excels for me is the relationships they have with each other. They are all friends chasing a dream that seems impossible. Their teacher is a beacon of light who believes in them no matter what. Man, this guy is more open-armed than the christ the redeemer statue. He believes in his students no matter what. Unfortunately, it is this belief that gives birth to a repetitive slew of motivational speeches that just make me wish he'd shut up. Almost every episode has at least five feel good speeches.

As such, these rambles take the place of action. I would have liked to see more baseball games and more introduction of other characters who rival the club. However, there are some good emotionally moving parts that make you feel all warm and fuzzy and really make you root for this team. I also like how rough around the edges the characters are as it creates some hilarious yet warm moments.

One of the best and my most favorite Asian dramas. It has friendship, school and sports genre in it.
I remember when I was still putting this drama off despite seeing or reading a good reviews or recommendations to it, in drama sites or youtube. But when the time came that I got to finally watched it, oh boy, I regret why was it that only that time I took that opportunity. It was 2 years ago I think when I first watched it but I already lost count how many times I have re-watched it by myself or together with my friends.
I like how the story went. Each and every episode tells the story of the students and how the teacher helped them be inspired again to work for their dreams, until they all work together for that certain goal.
There was no drag moment even as I have watched that drama a countless times. It gave me a lot of emotions - joy, sadness, inspiration, anger and a lot, really. The actors are perfect for the role. I could not imagine another to do those parts. Its like they make you wish they were real and that you are part of it.
I also love the soundtrack! Even until now, I keep playing it whenever I want to start my day in a perfect mode. Kiseki by Greeeen.

Bastante repetitiva y aburrida.
