This is a simple yet a nothing close to realistic drama that easily makes you forget about reality. It is an adaptation that you'd originally expect to be bad and uncomparable to the webtoon however, it's nothing like that. It gives the same vibe as the webtoon and it is equally (or sometimes more) funny to it.
This drama will have you laughing (literally) non-stop.

The main cast is very good and the cameos are just as great (and countless), wit some of them beeing: Song Joong Ki, Jung Joon Young, Kim Jong Kook, Laboum and others..

Also, the music is unexpectedly good, I personally had no idea MFBTY participated, so I was pleasantly surprised. And aside from all the comedy, there's also romance and lots of character development!

This is a very sort webdrama even though it's 20 episodes long, so you can easily finish it in a day. If you watch this You definitely won't be disappointed.

I'm going to try my best not to rave about this comedy. If I fail, sorry. Let me state clearly that it's beyond rare that I give anything all 10s. I mean RARE as in haven't done it in years rare. Is Sound that good? You damn well better believe it. This show is funny. BUT you have to like stupid funny. What I mean is you have to like laughing at things that are so improbable they are hilarious. Liking some toilet or bawdy humor isn't bad either. Remember this was a 15 minute web series. It didn't run on SK tv so they pushed the Korean envelope a bit on things they could and couldn't do and (pretend to) show. As a struggling web artist Jo Seok (portrayed by Lee Kwang Soo) lives at home with his parents and younger brother. The show is about things that happen in his daily life (and to some extent his family's lives) as they all go about their daily routines.

Lee Kwang Soo stood out to me when I first saw him in City Hunter. I don't know why; he just did. He quickly became one of my favorite cast members on Running Man. Since then, I've seen almost all his series and a fair amount of his movies. His acting has gotten better and better. As the lead in Sound, he's perfect. The cast he leads which includes the phenomenal Kim Mi Kyung. (I swear she is the hardest working woman in South Korea) are equally as perfect. This is the odd case where the casting director got it right all the way around. Speaking of RM, ex-RM, Song Joon-Ki is in an episode for maybe 2 minutes. Current member Kim Jong Kook is in another episode for perhaps 10-15 minutes. That brings me to the episodes. The webtoons were 15 minutes. Luckily, I found 30 minute episodes (2 web eps put together of course).

The writing is fantastic. There are some crude scenes (remember that potty humor I mentioned), but don't let that deter you. Those couple of scenes are really setting up something bigger and funnier. WARNING: The funny may sneak up on you. I started watching Sound at work. A scene came out of left field and took me by surprise. I basically holler laughed and had my supervisor at my desk wondering what I was doing. There's very little character development as it's not that kind of a show. There is character familiarity. You get to know these characters quickly as you do if you were just starting to read a comic or watch an animation. Hopefully, there will be more seasons and we'll see them develop.

The music was good... I guess. LOL I remember there was music and it fit well. I didn't find it hokey or silly. Just appropriate.

Overall, I adored The Sound of Your Heart. For me it was the perfect 30 minute nugget to help get me through my days. I've actually watched it twice in less than 2 weeks. I guess the rewatch factor is kind of high, huh? ;-) Mind you, the type of slapsticky comedy might not be for everyone, but you never know until you try.

I started watching this drama on a whim, but little did I know that ten minutes later I would be completely hooked, rolling around my living room floor in fits of giggles.
This is certainly not a serious drama, it's pure ridiculous comedy and there were some parts that had me laughing so hard I was almost in tears.

The cast were perfectly fitted to their roles; I was shook by how well Lee Gwang Soo actually did (although really his character wasn't THAT drastically different from his own personality) and Jung So Min did really well here too. Every character was wild in their own way and each of the actors portrayed it wonderfully.
There were also several cameos that had me squealing, Song Joong Ki, Kim Jong Kook, Jung Joon Young. I wasn't expecting them so I was completely caught off-guard and delighted!

The whole drama was an adventure and I was somewhat sad when it ended, I wasn't ready to let go.
The episodes are really short so it was a super quick and entertaining watch. If you're looking for some light comedy to brighten up your day, this is 100% the drama to choose!

Simple and Entertaining

After watching few melodramas, i wanted to see something funny. This drama was really hilarious. It was short and sweet. Story was good. I laughed so hard.

Jo Jun was my favourite character. His expressions were really funny. The whole cast did a great job. Will probably watch few more works of Lee Kwang Soo. He was soo good.
Ending was okay. I really wanted see Ae bong and Jo suk's wedding.

Ost was good too.

Rewatch value- I will watch few scenes again since it was so hilarious.
This was a good stress buster.

A wonderful adaptation

I thought this drama would be boring and bland since I don't really find a lot of mini dramas that were adapted in webtoon good, but this is hilarious!

I love all of the characters in this drama, the way they deliver all of their actions were so funny. The actors and actresses they picked even the side characters were brilliant. I love all the scenes, and episodes, you can't even find one scene that is not funny. And Jung So Min is sooooo adorable in this drama! (My heartttt<3) hoping to see her more in comedy genre!

This is 10/10 and recommendable! If you are finding a drama that is light, super funny, and can be finished within a day then this is perfect to watch!

I'm genuinely surprised by the raving reviews!

This is not a drama, but a sitcom, that should've been fine, I generally like the sitcom genre, but this one is way too average. Jo Sok+Ae Bong moments were great & lee GwangSoo's solo scenes were quite alright too, but these are like half of the drama. The parents are played by my least favorite veteran actors ever & the brother's character is just bland. There is a lot of cheap humor that feels almost insulting to the viewers intelligence, there were poop & fart jokes everywhere and those weren't even the worst part.
I looked at the webtoon, that's all over the place too, but it feels slightly more interesting, not that I'm going be following it.

(Kim Jong Kook apparently sucks at acting...)

A Hilarious Mainly Episodic Comedy

I was genuinely surprised by how funny this was. I found myself laughing out loud almost every episode, which is rare for me in any shows or movies. There's not really a whole lot more to say than that, besides some details for you comedy sticklers. So I'll do that as concisely as possible.

First of all, there's no laugh track, so that's a plus. It's also not reminiscent of a sitcom; the jokes are often taken much further, which is to the benefit of the show. There's a decent amount of cringe humor, so prepare yourself for that, but if you can bear the brunt of it the jokes made with the cringe are some of the best. There isn't a whole lot in the way of through lines for the show, besides Seok's relationship with Ae-bong and his success with his cartoon (although this is rarely brought up forthright, only as an excuse for the delivery of more jokes). Don't go looking for a story here. It's an episodic comedy. And a really good one at that.

The only crime is that it's too short and they rebooted it instead of making a second season. I definitely recommend.

This show is definitely one of the best ones I have ever seen, and I added it to my favorites before I even finished it, which says alot.
I have never laughed as much, and so heartly at that, to any show before. The humor is spot on, quirky and dorky, just to my liking.
The characters complement both eachother and the plot in a very easy and natural way that makes this so easy watch.
Eventhough it's a simple story there are alot of random events which adds to both the characters and makes no sense at all at the same time.

Lee Kwang Soo has been one of my favorites for a long time and I am so happy to see him in a mainrole. He has great potential for a wide varity of roles and shows some of those sides here, particularly his sense of humor and timing.

I will definitely rewatch it again soon.

Please watch for a good laugh!!

I just love Jung So Min & Kim (JSM) Mi Kyung and their talent. So as a result, I started to watch this drama and since the earlier reviewers rated this drama highly, I decided to take a chance.

I was NOT disappointed!!

I usually find "bathroom" humor to be gross and can do without it. However, I eventually came to accept it and at times laughed as well. I think all the actors did fantastically well.

In the category of comedy, I was debating between 9, 9.5 or 10. To me a 10 is "close" to perfection and is unique. 9.5 is close to perfection and unique.. a 9 is a must watch. I could have gone with 9.5 on this drama.

BTW.. I tried to watch the REBOOT series but did not laugh one bit and I was so used to this first set of actors, it was difficult for me to adjust to the new set of actors.

Few memorable moments for me:
"I will just stay here"
"Different perspective between man and woman" .. Episode 5&6
"Doppelganger" -- Hilarious!! and imaginative.
"Ae-bong's" birthday party
"Fire in China"
"Ae-bong in a cast"... my favorite!!

Only perfect kshow. 10/10.

I got introduced to Korean tv by Runningman, and then, this was my first Korean non-variety show (because of KwangSoo). This is the review after watching this show more than a couple of times over the years. This show's humor still stands strong.

Move over comedy tv tropes, this show has a refreshing burst of humor, even by American & British comedy standards! It's light-hearted, funny and did I mention funny! The characters are so well-developed that they have their own comedy arcs going on, and none of them fails to make me laugh. The humor is on point - it's never too much or too little, but always just right.

From the very first episode, it's clear that the show is determined to keep things fun and entertaining. The writers have done a great job of crafting creative jokes that are just plain fun to watch. The show moves at a brisk pace, and you'll find yourself laughing out loud at the sheer ridiculousness of some of the scenes. My favourite scene was when the family disposes off the father's bluetooth speakers, what followed was just silly but genius jokes that I still watch on repeat every now and then. The other favourite Korean comedy scene would be Waikiki's Gwenchana scene (season 1).

The comedic timing of the cast is impeccable, and you'll be chuckling long after the episode is over. Each actor in the cast was perfectly suited for their role. Perfect casting.

Overall, this show is a breath of fresh air in the K-drama scene. It's a fun and light-hearted watch that's perfect for when you need a good laugh.

Only show I rated 10/10, not that it matters.

Caution: Do not watch it while eating

watched a clip about English speaking from the drama and laughed crazily, hence decided to watch this interesting sitcom. My god, I died watching this series.
We watch a drama of 16-100 episodes and forget that but these 20Epi X 20min are unforgettable.
The situations shown in the series were weird,Like it was not possible to happen but dramas so make that happen. Some of the situations were really relatable too, like the noisy neighbors.
All the crazy naked/bathroom situations were over the top and kind of embarrassing and I nearly puked because I was eating. So I advise everyone to not watch it while having food, it's funny and you laugh but you might feel disgusted too.
All the actors were amazing, mother, father, brother, girlfriend and Cho Seok. I really enjoyed Kim Dae Myung as Jo Joon, the brother, his antics and blue dress were perfect.
The music is awesomely nice.
overall it's a damn good short drama and you can watch one episode at a time or binge in one sitting.

Hilarious!

Never have I laughed out loud so much at a K drama. It is one of the funniest TV shows I've ever watched. Everything is masterfully executed. The cast is an ensemble cast from many of my favorite dramas and the acting leaves nothing to be desired. The production and soundtrack are perfect. The story is original and never feels stale. Not to mention, I love the idea of webtoons, which are often created by independent artists, getting adaptations .

I felt like Ae Bong while watching this.
Highly recommended needless to say.
