Kiriyama Rei is a 17-years-old shogi (Japanese chess) player. He debuted as a professional shogi player when he was in middle school. He lives by himself in Tokyo, because his parents and younger sister died in a traffic accident when he was little. One day, Kiriyama Rei meets three sisters who are his neighbours. The three sisters are Kawamoto Akari, Kawamoto Hinata and Kawamoto Momo. This is his first meeting with someone outside of the shogi world in many years. Having meals with the Kawamoto family brings warm feelings to Kiriyama Rei. As Kiriyama Rei continues his shogi career, his interactions with his neighbours allow him to grow as a shogi player and as a person.

Both movies are about championship of a traditional Japanese game. Both movies take place in a Japanese shinto shrine. Both movie series are based on famous manga.................................................

They have a similar feel, of course Japanese and Korean culture- though similar in some ways, are quite different. And of course the main character in IL plays 'Go' and in March he plays 'Shogi.

i will recomend the ANIME or the manga of that this movie was based of. its about shogi, japanese chess, and the protagonist is a 17 years-old guy who is trying to understand himself and his passion of shogi.

its about friendship, love and is sooo poetic (the anime and manga). the movie itself is an OK live action, but i hardly prefer the anime and manga ;)

Toge Nayuta is a professional Shogi player. Her games last for about 10 hours. She also thinks carefully about what she will eat during breaks in the game. Her choices in meals helps her win games.
