At dawn, on February 18, 1860, samurai of Mito domain Tetsunosuke Seki (Osawa Takao) leaves his wife Fusa (Hasegawa Kyoko) and son - Seki Seiichiro (Kato Seishiro) behind to fulfill a deadly mission. In January, Tetsunosuke Seki concluded a pact to execute community leaders of the Mito domain and the highest government official of the shogunate Naosuke Ii (Ibu Masato). The attack on Naosuke Ii is set for March 3rd. Including Tetsunosuke Seki, there are 17 samurai from Mito Domain who embark on their mission and a samurai from Satsuma domain, Arimura Jizaemon (Bando Minosuke). Their leader Kaneko Magojiro (Emoto Akira) forms their plan and instructs Tetsunosuke Seki to lead the others to carry out the plan. On the day of the attack, Tetsunosuke and his party gather at Shinagawa Atagoyama and head for the Sakuradamon gate of Edo Castle for their attack. The battle begins. Edit Translation
