Once upon a time in dramaland in an innocent quiz show celebrities and commoners were striving for their personal dreams by doing a harmless questionnaire. But then- the show was promoted to being a live broadcast and the duck turned into a beast.

Every episode a contestant is interviewed and "incidentially" forced to reveal secrets which should never have seen the light of the day, the disclosures serve a different purpose that remain concealed for the first few episodes but slowly materialise.
The supposedly clever viewer is given baits as to the shape of the final puzzle and might be, just as me, sitting impatiently and waiting for the next clue. Thanksfully, the twists start to twist just in time to divert from the naturally repetitive nature of a quiz show and keep the spirits up.

The cast is well selected and the supposedly clever viewer can follow the little background stories of the crew. Some being more detailed and eleborated, some remaining on a superficially superficial level. The chemistry is superb and the ongoings appear real. The one bringing life to the story is Sakurai Sho, who impresses with a wax face, that seems capable of forming every expression as well as emotion. His ultra smirks might redden the cheeks of one or another old maiden.

The music is there. It usually suits the atmosphere but is neither disturbing nor outstanding, it simply suits its purpose.

Due to the twist plots (and Sakurai Sho's smirks) The Quiz Show 2 has a potential rewatch value. My humble myself thinks it could turn out to be interesting to observe the strings coming together from beginning to end while knowing the general outcome.

A clever, diverting suspense drama with an awesome cast, an intriguing story and Sakurai Sho. Highly recommended. :)

Yay! Another great Sakurai Sho drama. At first I thought since I had not seen the first "The Quiz Show," that I would be left behind. But there is no need to watch the first one. (Though I do believe there are some appearances by the first cast that would make more sense if you saw the first, but it does not affect the story.) Though it may seem like it's the same episode over and over, I feel that as the show went on, it became more interesting. Each character was different but each played an important role in the continuation of the story behind The Quiz Show. Sakurai and Yu did a great job with their acting! They never fail to impress me. And of course, the ending song was sung by Arashi, though I think it didnt really fit the drama til the end of the series. I'm not sure whether I would ever rewatch this, maybe just the last episode. There is no romance, but it would be rather weird if this drama did have it. If you like mystery and suspense, then I would recommend this drama.

First and most important point: I watched the second season before watching the first one!! Hahaha!
And I have to say, it was better than I expected.

The characters, especially, Sho Sakurai and Yokoyama Yu, had
really good acting, and because of that, I felt as if I could relate to them. I enjoyed most of the episodes BECAUSE of the acting.

I disliked some of the scenes, because they were being reused over and over again, but I guess they just have to do that in dramas or something...

Hmm...but overall...I must admit that the story was pretty good and I liked it. For me, the best part of the drama, was definetly the ending. It was beautiful.

Anyone who watches this drama will definetly enjoy it.

I've decided not to watch the first season, because the second one was wonderfully satisfying.

*** The actual reason I wanted to watch "The Quiz Show 2" was because of Sho Sakurai.(Sorry, I'm a fangirl.)***

I hope my review was helpful :D
Bye Bye~

This story is very original. I haven't seen a concept like it before, so I'm giving the story itself some high points. From the comments I have read on other pages, it seems that many watched the show due to Sakurai Sho, but I can tell you (as I had not heard of him before) that it is definitely worth watching whether you are a fan of his or not.

The story becomes very repeatative after a few episodes, but the beginning and ending of each episode will keep you intrigued to keep on watching!

The acting, to me, got better and better throughout the story. I found it a little odd that such a quiz show would be aired (and have willing contestants at that!) but if you just go along with it all, the story behind the quiz show is what makes this drama worth your time. As the story begins to uncover the secrets of the main characters, you will become more and more hooked!

I wasn't able to watch the first Quiz Show 1 and I was thinking if I'll be able to understand this drama but I decided to watch it because of Sakurai Sho. I admit I'm an Arashi fan so I decided to watch this drama because knowing Sho Sakurai I want to know how he will be able to incorporate his good hosting skills in real life to this drama. I'm glad I gave this drama as a try because I haven't seen any drama with this kind of plot yet and this is the first. I find Sho Sakurai's acting here as brilliant. As expected, he was a great host and he was able to use well his hosting skills here. I commend Yokoyamu Yu and the rest of the cast. I felt the emotion, great expressions of the artists so they did really well for me. I also love the twists of the drama revealing secrets of each contestant. I also like the theme song and the music fits well the atmosphere of the drama. I might not re-watch this alone though 'cause I already know what happened and there's no surprise factor for me but I definitely recommend this drama for those who like psychological/suspense dramas. I love Sho's smirks. :)

At the beginning of this drama, I thought it would be something a bit darker and I was afraid to start watching because I am a giant scaredy-cat; I can't even watch horror movie trailers! But, I am so glad that I started watching this drama, even though I haven't seen the first series. Part of me watched this because of Sakurai Sho and Yokoyama You, but as the show went on, all of the contestants and production crew and supporting roles became super interesting. Sakurai Sho took his acting skills to a completely new level; at some points, I even forgot it was him as MC Kamiyama/Kamiyama Satoru! Yokoyama You is also really, really good at portraying the "evil/bad guy" character! I was engulfed in this show from the beginning, I absolutely love this show!
