I suppose I dedicate this to the lead actor Yoon Shi Yoon, who has been discharged from military service this year!

Story
The plot of Mr. Perfect is heartwarming. Be warned, there is the typical cliche of a bad boy main character suffering from the classic case of fame gone awry becoming a good citizen; however, the story is convincing. This movie was a box office flop because of its heavy sentiments; movie-goers prefer more action or excitement. Dramatized movies such as this one are best saved for Netflix or other at-home movie streaming sources. Other than that, the ending of Mr. Perfect was bittersweet and highly unsatisfying for a movie. If you are looking for the classic perfect storybook ending, Mr. Perfect is not for you.

Acting/ Cast
It is obvious that the cast is filled with well-seasoned actors. All were very professional, especially the adults. Yoon Shi Yoon was once cast in a similar role in the Chinese drama, Happy Noodle, which provided voice overs. Pretending to be mute is a breeze compared to pretending to speak another language. In his role as a teacher, Yoon Shi Yoon connects with people that have teaching or tutoring experience by expressing the gratification of students learning and progressing in their studies. However his character's internal journey of self realization was largely not shown in the movie. As for the students, Yeo Jin Goo, the other main character, preformed above the rest. This was to be expected because of his casting in multiple child roles. He is expected to elevate his career with his main roles in dramas Orange Marmalade and Jackpot.

Music
As per usual, I perused the film post-viewing for memorable tracks of any sort. The OST was nothing special. Mr. Perfect had too much sad ballad songs in their OST that made their lighter songs be recycled constantly for the funny scenes.

Rewatch Value
As a Yoon Shi Yoon fan, I would rewatch this because it is Yoon Shi Yoon's most recent work. Hopefully he does act more in future since he just got discharged. As previously admitted, Mr. Perfect is not the easiest film to watch or rewatch due to its heavy sentiments. Knowledge of the plot will also lower the emotional impact of the story, contributing to a less fulfilling rewatching.

Overall
Mr. Perfect is perfect for an emotional night at home, especially for the whole family. Living on the island is like living in a big multifamily house. Characters in the movie come from every different age bracket to represent and connect with each family member at some fundamental level.

Mr. Perfect starts pretty solidly, in the span of 10 minutes they fully set up Park Se Jin's character in an efficient and enjoyable manner. After that however, the story starts to meander into the realm of predictability.
A little disclaimer, I did not read the synopsis for this going into the movie. However by the time the brunt of the main plot began I could tell you the direction this movie was going and even guessed the ending.

The saving grace of this movie was the great cast. Thus far I've only seen Yoon Shi Yoon as the lead in Psychopath Diary, he absolutely kills it in that but I was still expecting less from him because this movie is 5 years old (and I thought it was 10 years old when I started it). He delivered a very endearing performance without speaking.

Next to him you have the amazing Yeo Jin Goo, who's character had the most range of emotions needed. He nailed every single one of them.

Any time those two were on screen together I forgot I was watching fiction and felt very strongly for the characters and their situation.

This is not a movie I'd rewatch, but I do know I'd recommend it to friends who enjoy heart warming movies.

This was barely an 8 due to the ending, more like a 7.5 or 8 depending on my mood. I chose to give it an 8 though, because lets be real I'm a sucker for student-teacher stories, as they remind me of why I want to be a teacher (I'm working towards being a elementary school teacher). This movie did exactly that, it reminded me of why I want to teach, and gave me that fresh excitement all over again. The teacher-student interactions were cute, and it was nice to see how they effected EACH OTHER. Typically in these stories, the teacher has got it all, and he effects the students. Not in this story. Mr. Perfect, well isn't perfect, and has his own issues to figure out. Him serving the island and being a teacher helps him lead to his own road of self-discovery and renewal. The students aren't perfect either. They have their own personal struggles and problems, and it's nice to see the teacher effect their lives and show them that they truly have an adult by their side. I particularly liked his relationship with Byeong Joo. It was nice for Byeong Joo to have an adult on his side, and for him to open up to his teacher :) I would also like to add, that this movie was funny and had me laughing out loud at some parts. It was truly a joy to watch :) Now, it's not all roses, and there are some things I had problems with. One being, the overly light treatment of Byeong Joo and his problems with his father. Though this is mainly due to culture differences, in how that specific topic is treated. I personally thought that things were a bit too smooth, and found it unrealistic. The second problem I had was the ending. At first I was going to to give this a 6 I was so mad. But after discussing with a friend whose also seen the movie, I realized that this movie is about Mr. Perfect's personal journey. The movie does fulfill that, just in an unexpected way. The ending was a tad bit unsatisfying, but really it's like the last 10 minutes, and the rest of it is so good.

Overall, I would recommend this movie. The ending could've been done better, but the rest of it was well-done and worth the watch. Also, for those curious, I'll leave a comment explaining my interpretation of the ending below.

It could be just me but I personally found the story sweet and inspiring. The story of a golf star found his way to redeem himself through teaching kids on a small island is heartwarming. I don't think that a good movie needs to have a complicated plot or dashing effects. This movie is simple and meaningful. There are some comedies here and there. The acting is really good. I don't think it is easy playing a mute person because it would require more facial expressions. Yoon Shi Yoon definitely nailed it. Jin Goo also did well. Not sure if this is his debut work or not but I was impressed with his acting as well. Whether you are a fan or not, you should give this movie a shot. If you are a YSY or JG fan, you should definitely watch this. They look extra good here. The music matches the theme of the movie well. Unrelated but the father character is the bakery owner/chef in YSY's former drama King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo.
I am attaching the links for this movie in this review since many ppl in the comments seem to have a hard time finding this movie with eng sub. There are 2 parts betw
