Nakee (2016)

Okaay, so like I finally have the time to write a review since finishing this at the beginning of the year. Anyways, first of all, I'll like to say a big thank you to the subbers who continued to sub this drama even after it was dropped and I had to wait like 2 years I believe for it to be fully subbed. So thank you for relieving the pain for all of us Nakee fans who were waiting for the subs.

Story:
The story itself was basically repetitive. Nakee's role was basically trying to make Tossapol remember his past life and those who do bad things to her she'll just kill them off, which was like nearly in every episodes and the village people always trying to find evidence that KumKaew is a snake. If you decide to watch this drama, you'll understand what I mean, like you'll be able to guess what will happen in the next episode, or maybe that was just me.

Acting/ Cast:
I've always been a fan of Taew and Ken so I really have nothing to say about their acting as they both portrayed their character amazingly. Although, I do have one thing that I dislike and that was them making Ken not be able to protect himself. Like there were scenes when he'll get into physical fights with the villages and Ken will always be the first on the ground. So that was one thing I dislike about his character.

Music:
Honestly, I can't really remember any of the songs apart from its main ost Khu Kong which became a hit and it's a 10/10 sooooo yeh.

Rewatch:
I wouldn't re-watch it because I felt like it didn't really lived up to its hype. I think I just had higher expectations of the drama because of all the hypes that was going around during its release. Not saying that it was bad but like it could had been better.

Overall:
Overall , I would recommend this just so that everyone can share my pain that I went through while watching this drama. It definitely has it's pro's and con's but it wasn't that bad like it did had its good and bad moments. Never the less, if your up for some heartaches and some of those "what the hell is going on" moments then give this drama a go.

GREAT DRAMA, TRY IT, OR YOU'RE MISSING OUT!

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS! ;)

I think Nakee is amazing! I think it's WAY better than Nakee 2. I think the whole story is so interesting. It is about a girl (Taew) who was born during the solar eclipse. She is also the reincarnation of Jao Mae Nakee. She has special powers, but she doesn't know until toward the end. All the villagers think she is a snake and try to do everything to expose her. Once Ken sees Taew, he knows that she's the woman of his dreams. (and in his dreams haha) and he does everything to be with her. She later realizes that she is a snake. Ken and Taew don't end up together because Taew did another bad deed. Hopefully after many many lifetimes, they will get to be together. I think Taew also has to repay her bad karma and practice mindfulness. It's not a happy ending though. I still really enjoyed this drama. I think it is such a good drama. I'm hoping you all will give it a try. ❤ :)

STORY - I love the story. I think it's so unique. I'm less scared of snakes now. Because Taew is the snake queen. :)

CAST - The cast was amazing. Everyone fit in well!

MUSIC - The music is so catchy! Mostly the second ost!

REWATCH - I love to rewatch this, but only the interesting parts. Not necessarily the full drama. (UPDATE: Now thinking back, I miss this drama, and would rewatch MOST of it.)

OVERALL - 9.5 . It's amazing! Please try it! There's not much negativity I can say about this, it's nearly perfect!

It's been a while since I watched a lakorn. The most recent one I finished as Love Destiny. I enjoyed it so much that I was looking for my next lakorn. A friend recommended this series, so far I’m halfway and I’m not sure what I feel about it. For sure it is not the next Love Destiny.

What I like about it:
Lately, I’ve been fascinated by the history of past love. So it was intriguing to see the setting of this in a small town by the Mekong river (correct me if I’m wrong).

The opening theme, I heard of the song prior to watching the series but watching and hearing it play throughout the series just made me appreciate the music even more.

What I didn’t like about it:

Everyone wants to kill FL and find ways to hurt her. I think every episode there was at least someone new that wanted to hurt her or something new that can kill her.

You had to be patient and watch it through to understand what happened in past. I didn’t like that we didn’t get more sneak peeks even when we were halfway through the series. It was hard to fully understand the depth of their love at this point.

The ML was asleep almost all the time when crazy events happened at night. For example, mom was going to get the sword that can hurt her FL and they end up chasing her and throwing her body over the cliff. He woke up the next day to look for her.

When lady nakee asks who would ML love and he answers he loves FL but yet it was because Nakee that he is in love with her….hmm..I don’t think follow this reasoning.

We’re just a few episodes away from finishing. And I was expecting a tear-jerker but I still have yet to shed a tear. Yes, I’m upset at what they are doing to FL and I think that typically in lakorn but it is not enough to justify me to cry about it. I am disappointed, I was expecting a bit more. I guess it was one of those where the love didn’t build up like how Love Destiny was therefore, I have a hard time watching this.

Edit: painfully I did finish this series. It is one of those you have to watch to the end to understand the history of what happened. I wish someone could tell me, ML and FL fell in love in a previous life. She had a child and the humans end up killing her, causing her to go crazy and attacked the humans. In order for her to be with her love one, she has a trial/waiting period of 1000 years before she can become human. This brings us to the present. Very typically a star-cross lover story. The end was satisfying, finally, all the bad guys died after all that they did to her, especially her child. I know there is a part two and I know it is not on my “to watchlist”. Only recommend it if you enjoy the cast, the storyline was painful for me.
