Before writing this review I was thinking how would I state my opinion about this seeing all the good reviews; should I be diplomatic or what? then I just decided to frankly spill it all out.
2-Storyline/Plot : It wasn't bad but it wasn't one of the greatest storylines that I've seen. The first episodes were somehow captivating but then it took the wrong turn, the kind of turns that made me skip many parts to get over with it.
3-Acting/Cast : Lee Min Ho was the main reason that I didn't drop this, I got to see him in a mature role after Boys Before Flowers but his character wasn't that appealing and it's all due to the stupid setting of the storyline.
Son Ye Jin wasn't bad as and actress but she was really annoying character since it was one of tthose usual dumb Korean female lead.
The supporting roles were good enough to get this drama going.
4-Music : It wasn't bad. Sometimes, it matched the scenes.
5-Rewatch value : Not one of the dramas that need to be rewatched.
6-The ending : It was your usual rom-com expected ending.
7-My impression: To be honest; not in a good way. At first I literally devorated the episodes but then I was waiting for the end.
I just lost intrest in the middle and I couldn't find my way back because there were too many boring moments that made me skip many parts.
8-Overall : I respect people who really loved this but it wasn't that special for me. I won't recommend it or cut it off, I just stated my opinion, you need to let your taste decide for you.
P.S: If you're not Min Ho's fan then don't waste our time on this drama.

Does it tell the story of a girl who needs to come out of her hidden sense of guilt and find the lost relation to her father? Or is it about this same girl seeking revenge against a cheating boyfriend?
Perhaps it tells the adventures of a young man who pretends he\''s gay, as the title seems to suggest. Or, again, it\''s the story of a house and how it influences the lives of those living in it.
In short: I could compare this drama to a pot-pourri. You know, those pretty little boxes or vases filled with all sorts of dry flowers, herbs and spices. You open it thinking it will smell of frangipani and your nostrils are assailed by a nondescript cocktail of perfumes, from cinnamon to roses.
The acting is not bad, although I maintain that Lee Min Ho is too preoccupied with his good looks to be a truly believable actor. I\''m ready to face the consequences of my statement.
And, to be honest till the end, I was slightly distracted throughout the whole show by the length - or lack thereof - of his trousers.
Overall, it starts in the best of ways, with elements of comedy and all the premises for a very sweet, passionate love story. It loses direction somewhere by the middle, and it doesn\''t find it back.
Disappointing.

Sorry to say, but the pairing is one of the worst I have ever seen. Their chemistry was just lousy and the characters terribly annoying. I stopped caring where the story went after 8th or 9th episode. It got better at this time and suddenly it went downhill again. It seemed more like a sex comedy at times.
Also, this show is poorly written. None of the sub-plots or side characters were interesting. All of them could have been killed in an airplane accident and I wouldn't have cared. I only watched it out of boredom. I absolutely hated the character of Park Gae In. She was clumsy, childish, annoying and dumb. She looked old but acted like a little child. I get that she never had the love of a mother, but that doesn't mean she has to stay crippled like a loveless child for her entire life. The only good quality she had was that she was caring towards the people she loved. Other than that, it was hard to stand her. Jin Ho's character was also boring and lacked depth. He was standoffish throughout the entire show. I really never understood his character. It had a lot of negative traits as well.
The show is not very enjoyable. I would not recommend it to anyone. There are much better shows out there. Go and rewatch your favorite drama than watching this absolute trash.

It was painful to watch the main actress, she made a mess of her role, and I must say Jin Ho was really shallow with his portraying of this particular character, and I must say I have enjoyed his talent and adaptability with his other roles as well. Moreover, I found the script messy, quite lacking and very artificial.
The funny moments were seldom, but the were indeed nice to watch, but honestly, feeling a pain in my stomach because I had just watched a 40 something minute long drama for only 10 enjoyable minutes was not my cup of tea.
I guess personal taste does play a major role in watching this drama. 3/10 from me, and that's putting it mild.

Story: First 10 episodes 9/10, last 6 episodes 4/10. Their is a huge discrepancy between the first couple of episodes and the last couple of episodes (at least for me). I highly enjoyed the first couple of episodes. They were highly entertaining and PERFECT for my mood, but as I came upon the end I started disliking certain aspects of it.
Acting/Cast 10/10 : The actors were all flawless and I enjoyed their acting a lot.
Music 8/10: The Music was pretty good, and I still sometimes listen to the OST outside of watching the drama, which is always a good sign. I also enjoyed how they had random english songs sporadically thrown in their.
Rewatch Value 5/10: I'm not a big fan of rewatching dramas/movies to begin with, so I will personally probably never watch this. However, this is a bearable rewatch for those that do, because it's not really based on twists and turns.
Overall 6/10: If you have nothing else to watch and don't mind a decent story with wonderful actors, then this drama is the one for you.

Some of the scenarios in the beginning are a little far fetched, but it's kdrama so what do you expect. I laughed out loud & cried as the story progressed. I rewatched certain moments over & over. There is a drastic shift, which is pretty common in KDrama, where the romantic comedy suddenly turns into a tear jerking drama. I definitely had more fun watching the first 11 episodes, but I think there was a pretty seamless transition to the sadder later episodes. I admit, after a rewatch, that some of the moments that broke my heart the first time seemed a little overdone this time, but the acting was never bad. I think overall that learning more about Park Kae In's sad past made the story feel more complete. Some of the final romantic scenes are also a little cheesy, and Jeon Jin Ho becomes super frustrating, but I honestly still loved watching every moment.
I think the whole cast was great! I loved Jo Eun Ji as the bff, and her hilarious relationship with Jung Sung Hwa. I loved how Ryu Seung Ryong's character developed as well. He could have come off as creepy, but instead he was super sweet (err... no pun intended). Kim Ji Suk & Wang Ji Hye were incredibly annoying, but they were supposed to be. I could have skipped through their early storyline though. As for the leads, I really started to relate to quirky Park Kae In, and Son Ye Jin did an excellent job of not overplaying her gullibility and sweetness. As for Lee Min Ho, I haven't been disappointed by a drama with him in it yet. Lee Min Ho fans should definitely see this one, in spite of his high water pants.
I also have to mention the soundtrack, which remains one of my favorites. I still don't get tired of hearing the songs over & over again during episodes "Babo cheoreom..." ; )
I may be biased since this was only the 2nd drama I ever watched, but this is hands down one of my favorites. I decided to rewatch/re-review Personal Preference almost 30 dramas later, to see how it still holds up. It's still one of my top favorites, and still has one of my favorite k-drama first kiss scenes.
I definitely will rewatch this more than once, and I admit that I listen to the soundtrack sometimes because I miss it, lol.

After watching "Boys before flowers" I became a die hard fan of Lee Minho & Kim Hyun Joong, therefore anything that comes from them I feel like watching. When you start watching this drama it would drag you right into it, no kidding. The overall story, the characters, the love line everything fits right. You will feel sorry for them, you'll cry for them, but in the end it will be all worth it. Personally I enjoy dramas that have slice of life on them. And this drama is one of those... Since i am not allowed to post spoilers i wont say more : P
YOU MUST WATCH this drama, i'm ordering you more like suggesting you. You won't regret it !!

So Meh!!
The summary of this show was right up my alley. The story of a misunderstanding wherein hijinks ensue but alas it was not the case or I misinterpreted, whatever...Like a lot of people I watched because of Lee Min-ho but this is his worst role to date from the ones that I have seen. I felt like he was just going thru the motions. If sighing could be personified, Lee Min-Ho's sighs should have been paid. I felt like he did more sighing that dialogue!!!! This was the firts show I watched staring Son Ye Jin and she was good as Gae In but the character is so annoying and unbelievably naïve. I'll have to look at her back catalog.
There is so much to unpack plotwise but here is the basics: The story centers on Jin Ho pretending to be gay to get inside Gae In's house b/c it is the inspiration for a new architectural project. This project pits Jin Ho nd Chang Ryul at odds. Chung Ryul used to date Gae In but he broke her heart when he cheated on her with her one of her bestfriends and LIVE-IN roommate, In Hee who he also planned to marry without saying a word. Jin Ho moves in with Gae in and he helps her get over Chang Ryul while falling for her but he is the biggest jerk on the planet most days and Gae In behaves like a child most days. We are supposed to root for these two but the relationship is so tiresome.
The things I liked about the show were the character of Director Choi (played fantastically by Ryu Seung Ryong) and Yoeng Seon, Gae In's other bestfriend. Practically every other character got on my nerves to no end especially, Yun Sup the father of Chang Ryul so terrible and irritating. I couldn't watch this again if you paid me.
