Surreal
I don’t know what I expected but holy shit, it’s weird. I didn’t even know it was a boyband show until halfway through. Sure I started watching for Xiao Zhan (who plays just the most uncomfortable awkward guy I’ve ever seen) but by the end I was watching because I had to know what weird shit the writers and editors were gonna pull next.Do I recommend it? I have no idea, it’s an absurdist art piece, I couldn’t always tell what was comedy and what was just bad writing. But when it hits? It hits. Truly epic.

An Honest Review
Obviously, I watched this for Xiao Zhan. I also knew this was his first drama and that the thing was low budget, so I wasn't expecting miracles. It's been in my "plan to watch" list for a while. Was it good? No. But it wasn't an unmitigated disaster either. His acting and that of the SML were the best out of the bunch. It was like if Harry Potter met the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with a side order of the X-Men; also just without much of a cohesive plot nor any character development and really bizarre melodramatic characters. The villains were too stupid to ever put together anything really impressive. The 7 minutes of BTS footage after each episode was sometimes more entertaining then the episode itself. It's not something I'd rewatch but I would recommend it for younger audiences who like cheeseball types of dramas. But Xiao Zhan's acting abilities shone through even then at the very beginning of his acting career. I'm really impressed how far he's come in 5 years since the airing of this series. I can't wait to see more of his dramas in the future.Was this review helpful to you?
Otherwise, everything else is pretty tragic. I can't bear giving them a super low score because of Xiao Zhan, but the plot is questionable, the SML (second male lead) is trash, the female lead is questionable, and literally everything about this TV show. Even the music is pretty bad. Definitely worth the watch, especially as its so long (30 episodes with 22 minutes each). It's a huge waste of time.

First of all.. this drama is amazing in a certain way..But i will only recommend it to certain people..
Here are the reasons:
1) Story- The story is composed of good storyline if you are a fan of fantasy, romance, school with super powers kind of drama. But if you only watch it because of the synopsis/summary where i think the female lead is strong don't watch it because it will only disappoint you. Another thing is that the story line is good at first turning into ok and then ahmmm?? I must admit that i only finish the drama because of the cast hehehe..
2) Acting/cast - The actors and actresses here is very pretty and handsome but if you ask me about there acting, i think they play it well. But there roles? I'm kind of uhhh.. because i think they deserve more but i don't know who am i supposed to blame (director/ writers/myself?) The main male lead is strong, handsome and smart which i like. The second male lead is cute, kind, loyal and strong too but we all know how 2nd male role play right? They are the one who always need to give way so that the main couple will be happy and the one who always sacrifice themselves to protect their love one, which you can see in this drama. That is a minus for me. Even though i know that he will not be with the female lead i still root for his happiness because of everything he did to the girl he deserves more.
All of them are really likable except one, the female lead.. I don't blame the actress because she is good in acting but i blame her role in this drama. She is one of the reasons why i almost stop watching this because she is too self centered here without knowing herself.
- The fact that she is too irritating in a way that she gets to a university for free but you can't see her working hard in her studies and only sleeps in class or always finding her savior.
-She hates the main male lead at first without knowing that it is her fault in the first place but in the middle part she stalks him and fell in love at him even though he has a gf, i know he didn't love his gf but they still have a relationship and because of the female lead they broke up.
- She is taking advantage of the second male lead. Because he is kind enough to help her in studies and everything that she needs help but i don't remember her feeling any gratitude at all. She even has a gut to get mad at him only because the second male lead almost beat the male lead in a fair competition. Its like she wants him to lose for the sake of the main male lead which i find unfair because that competition is important to him too.
- it is a little < spoiler>i am expecting a lot in the female lead in terms of superpowers but i only see a tiny bit of her powers in the last episode
3) the music is very addicting. Usually i skip the opening song but in here i must admit the song is very captivating that i ended up listening to it.
4) the ending is...
somewhat disappointing, confusing with a little bit of cliffhanger

I thought I was going to get second lead syndrome, (especially since a Chu/Wan Shi reminded me of Chen Xiang) he was so cute with the MC in the beginning,
but the main male lead was also good looking and also looked good with the MC.
This may not have been the best Chinese drama I've seen, but definitely isn't the worst. I recommend it for those who have time, and really like romance dramas based around a superpower fantasy-ish school era. I definitely wish I found this drama earlier.

Like most dramas you get a gist of a shows originality and likability within the first 2 episodes. This had neither for me. If you're into dramas with a supernatural/school/romance and action type of genre, I recommend watching Moorim School (on KissAsian) first, I watched the entirety of that series and it was good but not to the point of wanting to rewatch.
I'm not sure how Super Star academy obtained the reviews it did with its lackluster acting, plot, and show effects, but to each their own.
I've made the mistake missing out on dramas sooner because I was too focused on the reviews. I recommend if you're on here looking through the reviews before watching, give a try. Each person has their own opinion and if you like it great, if not then I feel your pain.

Nice story...watch it..

After spend a ordinary life she find out she have black power..she help everyone to get ride off black gang...then gone..
After 1 month fang tianze come back from hospital and find out she already left..drop a letter for him and hope that if they are fate to meet each other in the future..she want them to be happy...
Fang tianze friend shen hao is in coma,,his dead bother wan chiune is alive..he go to a restaurant to meet him...(the end)
What happen to them next???what will happen in the future??did fang tianze and Cheng zhir meet again???
So many question left...but no season 2????
Plz give us season 2 man..!!!

Watch it if you want
Okay, objectively, this show... needs a lot. I think the story starts off as intriguing but it somehow never reaches a climax in the way one would want it to. Villains are a little weak even though they are quite funny. Production is okay for its time, I guess. But considering that most of its cast members are first-time actors this isn't too bad. Xiao Zhan is motivation, of course. Peng Chuyue's comic timing is good. Bai Shu does a very good job with what he is given. You do struggle to continue with the show at some point. There are definitely better shows out there, but if you're an XNINE fan, this one is for you.Was this review helpful to you?
It was cute, a rom com, slightly bit unexpected (so a slight twist) and the two main boys were damn cute/handsome. I like the comedy and the stupidity of a few characters but at times it felt too much and unneeded. In fact, I felt there were many times the attention was on the comedy and strayed away from the original story line. Because of which, the original story line that should have carried the punch, it didn't and felt incomplete.
There were so many questions to the end and i really hope that they could have come with some way to answer them all. But the end of the drama didn't leave me satisfied. The start i felt was good but the end was very weak. Plus even though there were 30 episodes each was barely for 18 mins excluding the op and the credits.
Another thing i didnt understand was the advertisements in the drama itself. At first it was slightly funnily weird but later just got so annoying.
According to me, this is a one time watch. But if i was to see myself laughing again, i may watch only select episodes and those will definitely not be the ones towards the end.

CHARACTERS(RATING: 9/10)
I think you would agree with me if I would say that if you know the actor or the actress you would still like him or her even though he or she is not the main character. Am I right? Because in this series I like the guy who played as Wan Shicun than the male main lead. Well the characters were all fun to watch given the fact that this series was a comedy fantasy kind of series.
CINEMATOGRAPHY/EDITING:

For me if the series or movie is a comedy, a perfect editing nor cinematography is not necessary. Because sometimes mistakes and errors makes the film more hilarious and interesting. I've noticed many lapses which made me laugh very much and I love it.
STORYLINE/PLOT/TWIST:

It is seldom for us to see a comedy fantasy kind film or series and I am happy that I was able to discover this series. I am a fan of a fantasy kind of films and nowadays I was fascinated by some sitcoms that I've watched. And I start loving it. So in whole for me this series was a brilliant idea. I love the story especially the twist. I really like Wan Shicun's story here though **** spoiler **** (just watch it). I also love the fight scene, and the ending. Hehehe
LESSONS:
1. Don't let the norms influence your every decision. Learn to follow your heart.
2. Revengeful ideas are never good. ???? (I love stories which has revenge theme though ????)
3. Heroes don't become heroes just because they have super powers. They became heroes because they were able to protect their selves and others as well.
OVERALL
Let me give a 9/10 rating for this series. You might not found this series interesting but for a person who loves fantasy and is always happy, this series is but a perfect dish for your hungry imagination. For me I love this series it might look like corny for you though especially some jokes that they are trying to crack. Well different person has different views and opinion. I recommend this series though. A nice series to kill some time and boredom. ????
