The Japanese version had the same core plot. However, the J version had way better story lines. After watching the J version, I felt like I want to become like the robot character not just because of the typical strength and special capabilities it has but due to the attitude it portrays to selflessly love someone. A life-size sex doll lives in a modest apartment in Tokyo, she can't speak nor move and she's the only companion of her master, a middle-aged man. He speaks to her, bathes and then make love every day when he returns from work.

The daily routine is broken when fantasy becomes reality. All of a sudden she comes to life and realizes she has a heart. She's unable to comprehend what is around her, however she knows there is a world waiting to be explored beyond the walls of the small floor and her selfish master. Eventually she dares to go outside world and meets people of all kinds, but no one is able to explain her what it means "to be alive".

When his boss, Dae Jung, goes missing in a ship accident, the company sends Woo Joo to Osaka to finish his business. I do not think that the story is similar...just the robot theme is what makes them the "same".
I think another similarity would be that both female leads loved their robot boyfriends like a human male. The robot boyfriends are both caring, handsome and dreamy as well...Like, both actors who played the roles have a perfect body and face. And the attitudes towards the female lead is very superb as well. Makes you want to ask where you can buy such "robots"...

Remind me of Yokohama Ryusei drama....& still 1 of my favorite drama....If you like this genre this is a must watch romance comedy drama.
