One of the best excellent biopic films I have ever seen. The story was told clearly and dramatically, which is easy to understand and connect to all the characters. There aren't any redundant or excessive sequences just to connect the whole events, every detail is significant and presented impeccably.

Apart from portraying the terrifying history of Koreans while living in Japan as they experienced racism, discrimination, and even killings, the life of Park Yeol and Kaneko Fumiko as they fought for what they believed never loses its focus. With the classic visuals, cinematography, meaningful dialogues with mingling wit and humor and flawless acting, I truly enjoy this movie deep in my heart.

A fascinating drama based on a true story. Shows what happened during the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923, the Massacre of Koreans and the trial of Park Yeol & Fumiko Kaneko to cover it up. This film is based on a period of history I knew very little about but after watching it I will definitely be doing some research into the history told here. The story is brutal and upsetting but leaves you with a sense that justice will be done in the end. Definitely deserves a watch no matter what but if you enjoy films based on real-life or historical dramas you should like this.

I usually don't frequently watch movies or shows that were like autobiographical accounts of real life people simply because I can't bear watching if anything bad happened to the people shown in the show, since it's based on real life events. But sometimes I do brave through it since one should try to learn about the past and understand the history of things that shaped the present.

That said, it was interesting to see how the freedom fighters in the past try to fight against the colonist at its own land. Park Yeol was indeed an intriguing person and his love affair with Kaneko Fumiko was really so sweet. It's amazing to witness how Park Yeol continued to fight for his country and in the process enlightening even the local Japanese allies to try to change their country.

Lee Jehoon never ceased to amaze with every role he played. He really brings out the eccentricity of Park Yeol's personality as well as strength of character.
