I understand why Joong Hee is doing what he's…

I understand why Joong Hee is doing what he's doing (and I understand even more from a plot point of view why the writers didn't want their patriarch to turn himself in and end up in jail for the rest of the series), but I still think he's being pretty cruel. Maybe it's just my bias towards the Byun/Lee family and against anyone who comes up against them. I get why he wants to put them through the wringer, but honestly it just comes off as petty and in poor taste, especially the way he's using their children to get back at them. Why isn't being locked up in jail enough? That's a pretty big punishment, so why wouldn't he think it's enough? Just because he's not going through the psychological torment as well? Also, how does Mi Young still like Joong Hee after how cold and distant he's been towards her? Sure, he saved her that one time (since he's been distant) from those falling boxes (in the biggest drama cliche of all time), but other than that, he's just been terse and kind of mean, honestly. Girl you need to value yourself more! Even if you don't like Jin Sung Joon, at least he treats you right! (Not saying to date him just because of that, but just realize that's how you deserve to be treated!) Ughhh the nerve of him to ask why she's avoiding him when he did the exact same thing!!! Jesus christ he's making me so angry.
