Ever since the trailer was released, I had been anticipating this drama. I thought the casting was great, another great drama with Kim Sohyun in it. The plot is unique and enticing. It was nice to see how they adapted and based it off the webtoon.

This short-lived drama made me feel a variety of feelings. Pondering the what-ifs about the world if something like this really happened. The chemistry between the three main leads was great. Left me torn between who I wanted to support. I found myself laughing, smiling, crying (kind of) and of course hardcore shipping. This drama made me want the best, most happy ending for most of the characters. They've gone through/will go through a lot of things. Seeing that and how they were impacted mentally, physically and emotionally made me sympathise alot. Makes you feel grateful for what you have...

In conclusion, I believe I can't fully review this because I want there to be more to come. HOPEFULLY, like MFFL, they will release another season (8 eps) because 8 forty-min episodes doesn't do anyone justice!!! Overall, worth binge-watching and will make you fall in love with each characters different strong-points/traits. Please support this if you do end up watching it and liking it!! We need another season!!!!

O.M.G.

As soon as Netflix had sent me a notification that there had supposedly been a new drama out called "Love Alarm" I clicked on it without even thinking 100% And let me just say that I made the best choice of that whole entire day. I spent the whole day and the next morning (because I didn't want to watch a short season so quickly since I already fell in love and didn't want to get hard broken) non stop. The whole story to me was very creative. Personally speaking I think some originally book stories that then turn into dramas usually turn out very great!

You probably already know what it is about it's really not difficult which is also another great part of the show. No part of the show made me replay 16 times because I didn't understand, it was point, blank, period.

I absolutely loved the connection with Kim Jojo ( love her name) and Sun Oh SO much! They looked so cute and Sun oh is just such a cutie! And the fact that they always sticked together and on episode 5 or 6 when Jojo went straight to him for protection, I absolutely loved that. Another thing is, the background info they had on Jojo was good too and all added up, no cover ups, slow paced, nada. It was truly the perfect timing for us to know her background.

Although I would write a whole biography on this book and place the show in a precious museum, there are some things where I as a viewer had to say were petty. These things were just more minor than really big it wasn't exactly the directors fault more just how the character itself was. I'm saying this because (spoiler I suppose is coming), Sun Oh's best friend had a crush on Jojo and Sun Oh never once hesitated with going for her. I mean he did fall in love with her right when she got back but his friend HAD liked her first... even though Hye Young took to long for a move lol.

Another flaw was Kim Jojo's ways. She ran away from a lot of her "problems" that wouldn't be problems if she hadn't over stressed herself with fear. I won't spoil this one but episode 6.... It still confuses me on why she did what she did and actually had me stop watching for 30 minutes to process her point at all. Even before she'd do stupid small things and say she could never explain or it was to "protect that other person". The female lead sometimes does that in dramas but I feel like in so many they Never explain how exactly it "protects" the other which I wish she, or her show, could have explained haha.

Thank you if you've made it through the end, or even skimmed :)

First love

This drama blindsided me! a ranom click on Netflix and here you go. Rarely do I get heart flutters in kdramas nowadays, most just don’t translate to me anymore for some reason. But this series was just pleasant surprise. Such and interesting story line. a lot of what ifs to draw about reality. But What really drew me were the characters and cinematography. I love how the story focused on the bliss moments of falling in love - of first love. Those short encounters, stolen glances, slowmow, awkwardness, embarassment, hurt and even stupidity. Yes, when your actions doesnt make sense but you do it anyway, just because it felt right. Each scene extracted those exact emotions which makes you feel and reminisce as well! I was fascinated by how Jojo’s eyes could express love, gratitude, sadness so geniunely in such moments. And, Im so drawn to the couple’s chemistry! Seriously their chemistry is undeniable.

My learning from this drama is that love is indeed a miracle, it just happens! You can’t control it but you can choose follow it or not. The feeling of liking someone and being liked back.. is one the greatest gifts.

actually this drama is a bit boring because the storyline is same as all drama , rich male lead and poor girl and a love triangle but sometimes this is fun but in this drama it is not specifically love but also social issues highlighted which is good but it is not worth watching they just so pulled the drama so far and made no sense .but i suggest you to try the trailer after all it should be your decision ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Love Triangles...

I waited for this drama for so long and i started a countdown from the moment the trailers came out. This is one of the best dramas i've seen so far! I finished it two days after it had been released as i kept on binge watching it. I was so addicted.I really like the actress, Kim So Hyun, and i had watched two of her previous works(School 2015 and Radio Romance)They all kind of have similar theme which is Love Triangles it was a bit obvious in who she was going to pick in the two dramas. However, for Love Alarm it is hard to tell on who she is going for. Both Sunho and Hye Yong likes Kim Jojo and rung her alarm... Tbh, i was rooting for my dude Sun Ho (even though he went for his best friend's crush), he was the one who made the first move on her and actually dated Jojo. They had cute romantic moments especially when they would smile at each other and say that they liked each other. On the other hand, there is Hye Young who is the nicest sweet guy who understands and protects the people he loves but,he watches Jojo from afar and denys his feelings for her. He eventually confesses near the end where Sun Ho has a girlfriend. But then again it is hard to choose between the two guys as they are unique in different ways. I was a bit confused after the accident because there was multiple flashbacks and i had to figure it out myself in what Jojo had done and why she activated the shield... I was wondering if the developer in the last episode is actually Duk Gu as he jumped out of his window near the end... Waiting for the next season as it ended on the cliffhanger... I wonder who she would pick...

I actually watched this drama two times, and it really gave me more perspective on it. The first time around, I was a diehard Sun Oh x Jojo watcher. The second time, I became a Hyeyeong x Jojo watcher. I realized how frustrating the whole situation is and how unfair Jojo was to both guys. Her unwillingness to open up and bad decisions led to the unfortunate outcome of their relationship. I understand that she had gone through some tough stuff, but that should mean she should allow herself to lean on someone who actually cared about her. Also, I loved Sun Oh's and Hyeyeong's bromance, but Sun Oh actually made terrible decisions himself. He broke the bro code and got mad at Hyeyeong for going after Jojo at the end. But the best part of this drama had nothing to do with the leads, but more about the side stories. How unfair it is to not be able to control your feelings or dial it down. How it must feel to have the person you like tell you to stop liking them. How it must be to never have someone ring your love alarm. This show dives deeper into this concept and shows how the idea of a love alarm affects the rest of society. Overall, this is a meaningful watch if you can get past how much the leads will frustrate you (except Hyeyeong deserves everything).

Although this was based on a webtoon, I get that the point is to keep it really similar. Everything was ok until the point where she broke up with the main guy. I don't get why kdramas keep doing this cr*p. She said that she did not want to hurt him more. there was no reason whatsoever for her to stop dating him, yet she dumped him very harshly and hurt him for months to come.. I dont get it ? usually there is an evil mother in law thats opposing the relationship. Something .. Anything .. even the part about him going back to the US did not make sense. I have watched countless Kdramas doing this and the moment they do it I just want to throw my laptop out of the window. The 2nd guy deserved better. main dude knew that he liked her then he kissed her the minute he saw her to prove what. He never held back even though he knew how his best friend felt. Then he dares to get upset about him when he finally decides to let jojo know about his feelings ? Although jojo did not reseprocate, still I think what the main guy did was really mean. Music is okay. Kim so hyun's acting is good as usual but the main guy was kind of meh, they casted him because of his good looks most likely. hopefully he gets better in future dramas. The app developer dude with the bowl cut kept mentioning how he likes that mean girl because of how pretty she is .. . that was pretty annoying. I tried to feel bad for him but really couldnt because all what he seemed to care about is her looks. His suicide attempt though was pretty sad. Refreshing idea ,, not sure I will watch the 2nd season. Maybe I will skim it. (HARSH REVIEW) Maybe, but this is what happens when you watch 100s of dramas lmao.

This is so worth watching, I have become more and more obsessed with Asian TV, more for certain actors/actresses. More of the Taiwanese cast, to the point I search out the cast. Now, I have another group of thespians to chase. I am very excited to see what the next season will bring. Love the cliffhanger and the reality. if you can think it, it could happen.

I like that these are done in 8's so to add to the mystic of what your next set will consist of. GOT had me on my seat until the last grouping, then I hated the ending. So make whatever you do matter.

You have a great ability to really put your audience in another realm of reality, so throw in things to really make them think. Just like the one episode, where I felt my heart break for their actions.

I have not been so addicted to a drama in so long until I stumbled upon Love Alarm on Netflix. I think it’s due to the fact that it reminds me of the tucked away love I have for Boys over Flowers or The Heirs, or the fact that Song Kang reminds me of Lee Min Ho. It’s definitely a flawed drama with imperfect characters, but it’s such a “crack drama.” It has so much heart to it where it pulls you in as you’re experiencing the burning chemistry between JoJo and Sun Oh. Hye Young is probably the easier choice for JoJo as it will bring less heartache but the chemistry between JoJo and Sun Oh is undeniable that you can’t help but root for them. During the show, some of the choices that were being made makes you question the writer, like why would Sun Oh kiss JoJo knowing his best friend likes her; however, during the press conference, it was known that he fell in love with her at first sight. Second, why would Hye Young go after her knowing that his best friend dated her? It’s like two guys breaking bro code. But honestly speaking, this stuff happens in real life all the time. I guess this show does depict flaws in every character. Ultimately, if you like boys over flowers/heirs type of drama, then please do watch it as it is so addicting. If you don’t, then you will probably not be that fond of it. Regardless, this is definitely a thumbs up for me, for sure.

When I see the tag:
Love Triangle
I'm usually out, I never liked them in any story.
Now let me go against all that I just said, to say: Best. Love. Triangle. EVER! It turned out to be an all out Love War.
I realized what made it so good was the time jump. So the story talks about the Past and Present, what happened when the APP launched and then it jumps to 4 years later. I feel like the Leads (because there is no Main/Second) switched roles, which makes it so good.
In the past it was Sun Oh in the driver seat with Hye Young taking a passive role, loving from a distance. Although I feel Sun Oh started off unethical, with Jojo having a boyfriend and knowing his BFF liked her. However, you really saw him fall for her and truly love her.
Can I pause here to talk about my love/hate relationship with Jojo, just as Sun Oh's pursuit in the beginning wasn't a righteous one, she didn't really stop him either (cheaters always make me cringe). Her story is definitely sad and you see her fight through, not giving up. I truly felt her fear when it came to loving someone else, but the immaturity of feelings at that age *sigh*. I feel like if she had her mom, someone she could talk with, her choices would be different, but we wouldn't have a KDrama then would we? lol.
Back to the Love War, everything changed when we jump 4 years into the future. Sun Oh with someone new, horrible, but then here comes Hye Young taking a chance, okay I see you! Hye Young isn't going to stand on the sidelines this time. He goes old school, pursuing her without the APP, not even caring if she rings his alarm. Then you have Sun Oh who is passive on the sidelines now (I get it she broke his heart) but honestly still loves her after everything, hating himself for that.
And then it ENDS!
Now I'm left here without closure. Taking a realistic look, if she did go back to Sun Oh, how would the relationship look? for 4 years he was left believing she didn't like him, their relationship would need constant reassurance for Sun Oh (hence the reliance on the APP to confirm ones feelings). That's not easy to live out, its almost too broken to fix, all because of Jojo's fear. Buuuut the Chemistry, sooooo good!
Hye Young is a more realistic, healthy option, but I'm going to need more to be sold. I mean it's delicate now because you want both guys to be happy, if we can see Sun Oh accept the truth and Jojo can sort out her true feelings and be open giving them both closure, then up the Chemistry with Hye Young, I could buy it.
Whichever way it goes, I think this is a triangle I can love.

Spoiler Hypothesis!
Can I also add how I think one of the side stories in this Drama is going to play out?
Duk Go. The creator of Love Alarm. I don't see him as being dead. I know the guy on the stage wasn't him, but I don't think he died. I think he's switched teams, I think he sees the bad that came from the APP and is now a protester, specifically the guy driving the van at the end. I'd love to see him be strong, since he was so shy, and take back the company changing it for the better somehow.

um, i think the relationship between them is toxic.

as for the story, it was unique where two phones near each other could tell whether you love the specific person. it was nice, yeah. i thought of downloading that app bc it seems so cool. NOW for my review, i think sun-oh is um toxic. he clearly knows that his bestfriend has feelings for jojo but he still kissed her knowing jojo has a BOYFRIEND. im waiting for season 2 hoping that jojo would end up with hye-young. if not then HYE-YOUNG deserves so much better. he's actually so kind and is always there for jojo. it'd be another school 2015 if they don't end up w/ each other.
