Food for the Soul

Makes you love the feeling of falling in love all over again. With all the fast paced, thrilling dramas out there at the moment, this drama was just a breath of fresh air.

I started watching this drama because of the main actor, Kim Min Jae’s familiar face. I watched him in Dr Romantic and somehow got curious and there you go, I fell in love. But, as i watched. i got drawn more to Park eun bin - her magnetic charm and soulful acting was just so warm and sincere. I say no one else can play and do justice for Song Ah’s character but her.

This drama is a work of art, every detail was thought out, the artistic cinematography became a trivia for me -and made me rewatch the scenes many times so I can appreciate the intricateness of every scene. Eveything was just great! The OSTs omg.

I love that Song Ah as the lead doesn’t have a rooted sad back story. She’s fragile but strong-willed. Weak but driven. Shy but bold. This just makes her so relatable, and helps to focus on her feelings and daily struggle of living a dreamful yet ordinary life. Joon Young also mirrors those people we admire, only seeing them in the limelight, yet shedding the reality that each one of us have our own struggles despite the status. The lovers awkwardness and sweet smiles were just profoundly heartmelting! You just can’t help but root for them so much and murder the replay button...

This story reminded me to continue looking for happiness in things we love. Just do what you love and what you think is right :)

One of the best

I’m just deeply in love with this drama. The cast & picture was just so powerful and beautiful. This drama felt so sincere and filled with love just like a masterpiece. Every detail seemed to have been fully thought out. Im always awed by how much the writers and directors can extract so much life and beauty in mundane daily events. If you observe carefully or click ‘pause’ for a while, you will be amazed how delicate each scene is - they can literally pass as postcards!

When I think about it, this drama actually has a simple storyline, and without the actors, I think it would have been just a typical passing drama. But I became so connected to Yisan and Deok im’s relationship, that whenever I replay their scenes together, I still felt exactly the same emotions when I first watched it. They were exploding with chemistry, I came to a point doubting if are they still just acting or are they already in love for real haha.

Lee Junho’s performance was outstanding. I actually initially clicked on this show because of him. I first saw his work in Good Manager and his character was very memorable. He just seems so dedicated as if he becomes the character he portrays, from his gestures to reactions, you can tell he’s very intellectual and a sensitive actor - im so impressed, for me he’s one of the best actors out there.

Im still trying to move on from this drama, don’t know how and when..but fure sure it will take some time :)

First love

This drama blindsided me! a ranom click on Netflix and here you go. Rarely do I get heart flutters in kdramas nowadays, most just don’t translate to me anymore for some reason. But this series was just pleasant surprise. Such and interesting story line. a lot of what ifs to draw about reality. But What really drew me were the characters and cinematography. I love how the story focused on the bliss moments of falling in love - of first love. Those short encounters, stolen glances, slowmow, awkwardness, embarassment, hurt and even stupidity. Yes, when your actions doesnt make sense but you do it anyway, just because it felt right. Each scene extracted those exact emotions which makes you feel and reminisce as well! I was fascinated by how Jojo’s eyes could express love, gratitude, sadness so geniunely in such moments. And, Im so drawn to the couple’s chemistry! Seriously their chemistry is undeniable.

My learning from this drama is that love is indeed a miracle, it just happens! You can’t control it but you can choose follow it or not. The feeling of liking someone and being liked back.. is one the greatest gifts.
