Both are historical dramas. The intense love between the leads is similar. The Romeo and Juliet nature of their romance where their families are at odds is also similar. Highly recommend both as long as you're prepared for the tears

In both dramas the couple is very much in love. They also are both based on real stories. In both "The Red Sleeve" and "Queen for Seven Days" the couple has their ups and downs, disagreements, farewells. But they always love each other, despite the tragic circumstances.

Both used flashbacks that would make you eagerly wait for that specific scene, eagerly wait for what caused it, what was done in order to end up with that kind of event. Both fights for the throne ( therefore both are of royal blood ), thought of strategies. Both male leads love the female leads and the female leads was also once affectionate to the second male lead at first, although in Empress Ki it's much deeper. A secret letter was also involved in both dramas and both female leads were chosen by the deities to have it fall in their hands. ( oooops, I used deities, hahaha, too much saeguk i guess. Haha. )

Based on same king Jungjong and his time period . This drama show us the timeline of same king. This drama shows the same period after the king Jungjong takes his reign and that society . So it is pretty much similar if anybody interested in that king and his lifetime.

"Queen for Seven Days" revolves around the tragic love story of Queen Dan Kyung and King Jung Jong during the Joseon Dynasty, focusing on the challenges they faced due to political strife, betrayal, and tragic circumstances. It's set in historical Korea and portrays the struggles of characters within the monarchy.
It's similar to One and Only in the sense that they're both historical dramas. They both have tragic love stories as a result of a fight for the throne. Both princes had their own army and group of followers who were loyal to them. Just like in One and Only, it portrays the struggles of the people during a period of monarchy or tyranny so to say. In both dramas the kings and the princes are in a love triangle with the female leads. Both dramas have a theme of sacrifice, as the main characters have to give up their happiness and freedom for the sake of their country and people.

Both stories shares a similar story that one can't help noticing a lot of similarities between them, as in the focus on Queen Dangyeong. While it wasn’t mentioned in the manhwa if Goong was written based on Queen Dangyeong, a lot of the details in the story was quite similar with some bit of changes regarding Lee Shin and Lee Yul. Not to mention that both of the main character shared the name Shin Chae-kyeong. Basically, Goong was like a modern alternate retelling of Queen Dangyeong's story with a slightly happier ending.

Both shows are costume dramas, and each have all the elements of a great story. There's tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat, laugh out loud moments of comedy, tragic elements, and a rock-solid romance. They also have chilling/compelling villains that are way too smart to be underestimated.

Tight storytelling, beautiful romance, compelling characters. Your emotions are about to go on a roller-coaster ride.

Two teenagers who loved each other lose sight of each other due to a conspiracy and their family. They then reunite years later, but although they still love each other, they are not the same. the female lead continues to love and wait for him but the main lead only thinks of one thing, "his revenge". Will they meet and love each other again despite the intrigue, their families, and the main lead's desire for revenge? Between love, hate, manipulation and revenge, who will win?

The second female lead, who was in love with Yi Yeok in Queen for 7 Days, reminds me so much of Kim Hwa Gun in Emperor: Owner of the Mask, who was also in love with Crown Prince Lee Sun. These two female second leads played a very crucial role in helping the princes get back their thrones, while they ended up with the main female leads that they were in love with.

Both are historical dramas that involve a power struggle over the throne and a love triangle between two royal brothers. In both, the heir to the throne is presumed dead when young and returns, and the other brother, now on the throne, attempts to kill him. Both FLs come from a powerful family but are caught in the middle of their love for the ML and friendship/brother-like relationship with the SML.
