Its no wonder that this is the most popular Thai drama ever. I know the underlying theme is romance (like every other drama in the world) but i fell in love with the main actress (karaked/kedsurang) a historians who defied the norms of being a women during Ayuthayya period. Despite being called crazy and insane, she is always curious for knowledge and keep her promise to her twin. I absolutely love the fact that she did not spend her time being in love with the hunks of Ayuthayya.
From romance drama perspective - you will love Lord Dech. He may appear cold and arrogant (like every other typical hero) but he was actually very understanding.
The writer is an absolute genius!
Not to mention the setting, it makes me want to live there too!

watching mexican telenovelas when i was young since it was then popular in my home country.
Thai lakorn was recently added to my list. It was in fact a horror/ thriller thai movie that brings me into 'lakornland' haha.. But latern on, decided to stay as several slap&kiss lakorn became interesting.
BPS surprise me in a new level. It is not slap&kiss nor horror/thriller.. It was a romcom yet not cheesy one (coz i dislike any drama, no matter how popular the leads are, when it gets too cheesy).
Honestly, i initially stop watching BPS after few episodes, not because it was bad. But because it was so damn good. The reason? I need to calm down myself coz i know i will get withdrawal syndrome and it would be so hard to move on.
Of course i completely watch it later on and can definitely say it is really worth it. Classic indeed! Good job to BPS production & whole team. Pope & Bella instantly became one of my fave thai artists.

I love the script. It has no boring or cliché lines. So credits for the scriptwriter. Also the storyline had everything in it from horror/thriller to romance and comedy. The main roles were outstanding, but I have to admit that the supporting roles gave this show an extra lift.
I must say that this first introduction was worth watching the show.

I LOVE IT
This is my first Thai drama and it's so good? As i am non-Thai, this is seriously a first hand experience for me on Thai's tradition and history! While it is tricky to keep historical dramas informative yet intriguing, i think this drama has done a great job???As the title depicts, Love Destiny, i knew it will be a romance based one. But the story was very smart as it include time travel of the FL to the past because of the love destiny she had with the ML. And this time travel itself include karmic/ reincarnation elements which i find very interesting but at the same time hard to execute in dramas. I also liked that they had touches of chants/ mantras which may be a taboo / limited in shows (or maybe they are common just that i am not aware). Because FL is from the future, her behavior and way of speaking itself provided a lot of comic relief. And while i may not get some jokes due to the different language/dialect used, i am glad the sites i watched from provided some explanation along with their subs. Aesthetics wise, i am so in awe because i never knew how Thais dressed in the past. So pretty ! And of course the food and way of life was interesting to see. Especially how they explained they way they bathed, and eat and even pooping and periods !!! Because i was actually really curious in all these as well and they were all explained!
Acting wise, i think everyone did a great job? I don't need to say much about the chemistry between the leads because it's so perfect despite limited skinship (because this is a historical drama). I part i find a bit cliche is the endless time the FL trips and falls into the ML's arm. The maids were also damn funny? Especially Prik ! Yaem and Phin, i was so touched by them as well? They were so loyal servants. The political history itself is very interesting, maybe because i never knew?I think it was very well executed as the show balanced the romance and political aspect out rather well. I am also impressed that while the show remains funny, their emotional scenes itself were very touching? And also, maybe because of the karmic aspects + mantras and stuff, the people weren't surprised with FL having a different soul in the body. I think this is all possible because everything is well planned out.
Anyways, i really enjoyed it and don't mind watching for the laughs :) i heard there will be a Season 2 focusing on their kids, i guess Phor Rit since Det handed him some sealed box (?) and we had a glimpse of a grown up Rit being Det. So , i guess the release won't be so soon but til then ^^

What can I say this drama has a little bit of sass lol in it. It will keep you interested in it don't get me wrong and the chemistry is amazing between the leads.. Loved just watching the little bit of history tucked neatly in the story which grips you just as much as the love part. Is it a happy drama then yes but will it make you cry I don't know, but it did me thinking about who is left behind is always a sad part of any life. Prang Kannarun as Mae Ying Junward this figure in the show was one of my least favorites, she really had no development and never really out right seemed to forgive the main actress at all. Even though she could tell that she had changed to a better person. Funny part is that the main actress helped set her up with the man she end's up marrying.. lol
Like I said I feel sorry mostly for Kadesurang because she travels and get's put in a body of her twin from different time period and on top of that everyone hates her. Plus add in the language is different from the future lol.. Also missing her mom and Grandma who was all she had left in the future other then her best friend.. that was my crying moment everytime she missed them.
But over all I love this drama and hope everyone else will too.. Also can't wait for part two.

This was my first historical Thai drama and it was SO good! I watched the shorter version so I may go back and watch the uncut at a later time.
I loved whenever our main couple would show affection for one another. It was always so cheesy, adorable, and really intimate.
I don’t really know why but one of my favorite parts of this entire show was our FL discussing future events with everyone and helping them figure things out. I also loved how our ML was pretty okay with everything despite knowing someone he didn’t even know was inside his betrothed’s body and he wanted to marry her even more.
ML is a total tsundere (cold on the outside, warm on the inside) but whenever he smiles, I feel like I HAVE to smile with him. So cute.

First of all i don't know why my drama list said 15 episodes. This drama has 40 episodes packed with humor and such sweet sweet scenes that can literally melt your heart. The CHEMISTRY...oh my word. I don't think I have seen a drama with this much chemistry in my entire drama life and here i was thinking i have seen it all ??♀️. I started Thai dramas with BL and i was now accostomed to the skin ship. This drama has little to almost non-existent skin ship but oh boy oh boy you can never prepare yourself for all the sweet cheesy moments. The eyeing and the smiles..i thought I was going to get nose bleeds. Those golden moments the main couple gets 'cozy' will leave little to the imagination. I don't think its just me who almost got knocked up just watching Khun P steal glances at Mae Ying. Okay enough about the gibberish now i will write a proper review for this gem.
I gave this drama 10s for everything because it had me crying and laughing all at once and its just perfect. The actors from the main cast to the supporting cast, all of them played their roles to a T. I loved all of them but special mention to Nang Prik. I just laughed typing her name. She was consistent from the 1st to the last episode giving me laughter till my side hurt be it she is being super mean and annoying or super nice. She was always on the extreme side just over the top. She is too extra ??. If it were another drama she is that one character i would find annoying and the actress i would say over acting. In this instance i found her hilarious. All the bickering back and forth Mae Jumpae and Mae Karakadae and just about everyone else was hilarious.I will not even start with the goofy and eccentric Mae Ying Karakadae or Mae Jumpae.
The visuals were not that great. I mean they could have done a bit more on the special effects but that didn't bother me at all. In all honesty I can not pick a single thing i didn't like about this. This was one of the most beautiful stories i have ever come across and its so well well written and well executed.
I am a fan of historical fantasy and this drama fed my insatiable appetite. The costumes......speechless.
In conclusion If you are looking for something light and could do with a lot of tears then this is the drama to watch. It made my isolation from covid 19 a breeze and i didn't want to leave my couch. This is a MUST WATCH.
Words of warning though...be careful ep 40 will give you diabetes.
Best drama i have watched in a while. Out of 100, i will give it a 101. Simply perfect.

If you love or want to learn about Thai culture/tradition/history, Watch this!!
Rating - 8.25 rounding up to 8.5“Bhuppae Sunniwat” aka “Love Destiny” is only my second non-BL Thai drama after “The Crown Princess”, so I am very new to this genre and my thoughts are reflected in a way that I am still not used to some of the acting or comedy styles. This is also my first Thai historical drama and I learned so much about Thai traditions and history. Characters from “Love Destiny” are based on true historical figures, but I am not sure how accurate the portrayals are.
What I Like:
1. Thai traditions and history - I really enjoy learning about the different Thai traditions, foods, rituals and history. I never knew Thai ladies folded and shaped the petals of unopened lotus flowers when doing floral arrangements. I’ve seen plenty of lotus in ponds in C-dramas, but never knew they could be presented in another beautiful way. There are many similarities between Chinese and Thai traditions, especially with respect to how they treat the elderly or senior members, high-ranking officials and their slaves/maids/servants. In a patriarchal society, wives did not have the same rights and treatment as men. I love the traditional costumes that all the women wear, from accessories to scarves to beauty products. Watching this drama also led me to Googling about the French influence in Thailand. If you are interested in Thai culture and traditions, this is a great drama to watch.
2. Acting - Female lead, Bella played three very different characters in this drama. I can really see the difference in her portrayal of the vicious and mean Karakade, the sweet and nerdy modern Kadesurang, and the new and improved Karakade. What a beautiful and talented actress! Bella is paired with the equally talented and handsome Pope. He really can act with his eyes and his shy smile and stolen glances melt my heart. I love watching him slowly fall in love with Karakade. The other two couples are equally talented and good-looking. “Love Destiny” has a pretty large supporting cast - family members, servants, royal family and government officials, and everyone did a good job and there isn’t anyone too cringey for my liking, acting wise.
3. Overall Plot - I enjoy the overall plot of this drama and why it’s called “Love Destiny”. Without going into spoilers, the drama does give an adequate explanation of how one woman came to live in another woman’s body, and how everything is destined that way. I would have loved to learn about the reason sooner, and have the drama focus a little more on that part of the story.
4. Por Date (ML) - I have something to pick on the main romance, but I do like Por Date. He has a strong sense of family, traditions and loyalty, but also not so inflexible that he would oppose all the new things that FL introduced to him. Despite being a self-proclaimed jealous and possessive fiance, he never once acts out of character, openly expresses his annoyance, or gets overly physical and possessive when he’s jealous. He might pout and walk away, but he’s gentleman-like. He also has a way of subtly flirting with FL. Though his love lines could be interpreted as cheesy and corny by some, I am eating that all up, because coupled with his loving gazes and smiles, I am also very much in love with him myself ? I also LOVE the thoughtful present he gets for FL from France. Not something he bought, but something he spends a lot of time and effort on, because he knows FL well and knows that she would treasure such a gift.
5. ML’s Father - A kind and caring father who openly accepts this weird future daughter-in-law into his family. He’s so accepting of FL’s vicious and non-traditional behaviors. Despite FL making all these mistakes and breaking traditions, he is always patient and understanding. In a patriarchal society, he could have easily punished or kicked her out of his home. He also has a way to control his wife and her servant from acting up. Just a quick look or a word of two to put them in their own place.
What I have Mixed Feelings or Don’t Like:
1. Modern Karakade (FL) - It is fun to see Karakade acting all modern and crazy, and speaking a different language. The blunders she made are a fun comic relief. However from a character development standpoint, it seems quite uncharacteristic for her to not want to speak or act properly, even after living in historical times for a couple of years. I know it’s more fun to teach your servants to speak your modern language, but if you decide to stay there, shouldn’t you make more of an effort to fit in? She got in trouble repeatedly, never seeming to learn from her mistakes and causing great harm/punishment to her servants. She seems to regret her impulsive and thoughtless decision each time, but still makes the same mistake over and over again. For a smart, independent modern woman, she also makes some dumb decisions. I love and find her annoying at the same time.
2. Por Date + Karakade Romance - If you like enemies-to-lovers and slow burn romance, this is it for you. I enjoy seeing them slowly fall in love, especially when Karakade unintentionally melts Por Date’s ice. It took a really long time for them to officially become a couple and when they do, there’s finally some PDA. But it was such a long and teasing drought to get to that point. There are so many instances where ML sneaks up behind FL’s back, approaches her, flirts with her, FL turns around and leaves and is held back, and ML ALMOST plants a gentle kiss on her cheek and then nothing happens. This is such a tease and is so repetitive that it slows down the general pacing of the show. There also way too many accidental trips and falls into someone’s arms.
3. Production Value - As mentioned, I love all the costumes worn by the characters. I also like the set designs, the different houses/rooms and the open floor plan. Inside the palace seems somewhat small, but I don’t watch enough Thai dramas to know if that’s always the case. I just realized compared to Chinese palaces, this one seems quite homey. I also like to see all the foods and desserts and even the boats and rivers. I am a big fan of natural lighting and we see this in “Love Destiny”. I like seeing how the servants put out land lighting lanterns/fire to indicate the change of day. But some scenes are too dark and I wish there were more lanterns. CGI/green screens aren’t great. The palace looks really fake when the characters are on a boat passing it. The music sounds nice but it’s so overplayed. The romantic song is played during EVERY single romantic scene, and there are many. No matter how much I like the song, I became very annoyed. The editing and scene transitions are also a little off. Maybe if I watch the extended version, the issue won’t be as prominent?
4. Pacing - Each episode is 1 hr 50 minutes long, and they are and feel really long. The drama spent a lot of time on home life, but there aren’t enough exciting events happening to keep me entertained and not looking at my clock to see when this very long episode will be over. For the most part, the drama focuses on romance and family life. But then a few episodes are dedicated to just politics, mainly in the second half of the drama. I would have liked to see politics introduced in a more balanced way throughout the drama.
5. Nang Prik (Old maid) - She was fun for a while and provided some comic relief. But her actions and constant meddling into her master and mistress’ business becomes too annoying. A servant should never have such audacity to criticize your masters/mistresses no matter how long you have served in that household. Her irritating behavior lasts way too long.
Other Random Observations:
1. It’s hard to keep track of all the long names and title changes.
2. The men in this drama don’t seem to need to work, esp. In the first half of the drama.
3. I like the duo Nam Yam and Nang Pin. They are fun without being annoying.
4. Love ML’s expressions when FL showed him the French greeting. A different expression on each cheek!
5. It’s somewhat hard to tell the passage of time. This drama spans many years but no date was ever shown on the screen.
Completed: 10/31/2022

The chemistry is amazing, and no extreme negativity.
●Since Its my first Thai historical drama, I would like to write many things and maybe this review becomes longer. I just loved this peculiar and unique time travel tale.●Story- kadesurang/karakade travels back, her using the knowledge of future and not making changes to ancient events was appreciable. The politics of the kingdom was side story and it was blended nicely not to put too much pressure on the actual story of leads, was fair. As in most time travel he/she gets wrapped in kings power politics. This one is very fresh and enjoyable. The love story presented was delicate not in an instant but slow as its mentioned that she was evil as hell. Chemistry between the actors was excellent.I was happy that writer pulled the story and sewed the loose ends of the present story of kadesurang in the end
●Acting- Bella Ranee as karakade/kadesurang was phenomenal. Her duality while being evil and good was perfect. beating up servants and when turning good respecting them was angelic. I loved Bella’s body sculpt wrapped in traditional outfit, i am so mesmerized that I want to buy one right now.
Pope Thanawat as Muen/por-date was handsome and manly. His jealousies and possessiveness was cute. His gazing and smile were so natural that made falling over for karakade seem so visually satisfying.
Punjan Kawin as Ruengrit was another character that is very well written. He was the perfect choice and acted accordingly as a friend and second lead. I liked how he wasn’t involved in creating any misunderstanding. His present days sacrificing for love and ordaining was so eye-tearing
All the other character were also nice especially the servants who served karakade.
●Music- title track ‘bupphesanniwat” by Ice sarunyu is so magical. Its lyrics music is so well mixed with the scenes.
Track “aojaow” by pete pol is another beautiful track from the series.
●Rewatch- it has such a beautiful story with perfect mix of comedy, romance and good story so ofcourse yes.
●Appreciation- I learned the amazing thai culture, and its history. I even googled about Ayutthya too. Their traditional dress and jewellery were so nice. I could connect to them as its similar to our Indian culture.

It's truly a must see
I had this drama on my watch list for several weeks. I was debating weather or not if I wanted to watch something with time travel. The way the writers put this story together it's unbelievable. I loved everything about this T.V. drama. Every male in this T.V. drama are so handsome and every female are so gorgeous. Ranee Campen (Kadesurang/Mae Ying Karakade) her story line reminds me of the T.V. drama of My Forever Sunshine, which is another outstanding T.V. drama. I will defiantly be watching Bpoop Phaeh Saniwaat again, without a doubt! Was this review helpful to you?
