To be human is to be insecure and fragile
That's my take on this drama.I have always been impressed with Zhou Yu Tong's acting prowess and selection of dramas. So, I know her drama will definitely not be typical.
Here, she is portrayed as toxic (in terms of relationships) but honestly, don't we all?
Humans, by their nature, are complex beings with emotions, vulnerabilities, and insecurities. As the eldest daughter and disabled at that, Zhuang Jie felt an intense sense of responsibility for others, having an inclination toward overachieving, struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, and establishing boundaries in adult relationships.
Being human also encompasses strength, resilience, and the capacity to overcome challenges. This is what I find sweet because she finds her strength from Chen Mai Dong. A man who is non-judgmental but also won't take any shit. This is exactly what Zhuang Jie needed to complete her growth as a human.
The theme of this drama is death - which makes a lot of viewers uncomfortable, but quoting CMD - "death is unavoidable. It's not the end but rather the completion of a process"
Which I find rather true and it's not dark. It's just real.
So if you want a real drama, intense chemistry, character development, and something that makes you ponder on life, go for it

Pure chemistry between the leads!
LOVE.LOVE.LOVE this series so much and I’m glad I watched it.I’ve always been skeptical of fantasy cdrama because of the ridiculous costumes, the magic, immortality and etc. But I decided to give this a go because i was so frustrated with My Journey to You’s ending and I miss Esther Yu and Zhang Ling He. Surprisingly, I ended up loving this drama so much.
Its been a while since I watched a good romance drama. Great acting by Dylan & Esther, and the rest of the cast. Great chemistry, Dylan’s micro expressions, just shows how versatile he is. Not to mention his gorgeous face, the perfect Dongfang Qingcang (i think/hope he can play Sang Yan in First Frost too!) Great plot development, typical love-will-endure-all kind of plot. For those who hate Orchid’s childish character, well to bad. her character goes perfectly with Dongfang grudge and I-dont-care-about-the-world attitude. He just needs a dose of Orchid’s kindness and positive vibes in his life. I do admit, initially I’m rooting for Orchid and Changheng to be together, mainly because I love them in My Journey to You, but I gradually fell in love with Dylan-Esther duo! What a perfect pairing.
This is romance drama done right!
ps: to Dylan Wang stylist in this drama, THANK YOU for giving us the male god look that Dongfang Qingcang deserved!!
pss: does anyone from South East Asia recognise the Songket worn by DFQC in the whole drama? I’m so proud the Songket found its way to China.

Love is really sweet
This drama is typical yet heartwarming love story and charming leads (LYX and BL) with undeniable chemistry. Both actors acted so naturally although I find LYX has limitations expressing intense angry scenes, maybe he is a soft person in real life. There’s nothing outstanding about the storyline and plot but their on screen connection kept me smiling and grinning the whole series. Second lead is also not as boring, their acting skills can be improved but their story is also quite interesting. But I do get frustrated with sml actions at times.
Although I do agree, the drama can be shorten to 25 episodes instead of stretching it to 36 episodes with unnecessary subplot. But on the good side, we get more LYX and BL screen time, which is sweet and satisfying. So I dont mind the long episodes.
In summary, "Love is Sweet" offers a comforting and heartening experience, primarily driven by the captivating chemistry between the leads. Although the storyline may follow a conventionaly path, the genuine performances and endearing love story make it an enjoyable and memorable drama for those seeking a dose of heartfelt romance.

Romance in the small things
If you think Duan Jiaxu is the epitome of the Green Flag, just wait until you meet Song San Chuan.I've always liked Leo Wu Lei, but when I saw his latest drama, 'Nothing But You,' a sports romance series, I thought, 'Nope, not gonna watch this, it looks boring.' But man, was I wrong.
It was a really good, uplifting story. Quoting thefangirlverdict.com, 'romance in the small things.' I was skeptical about the age gap at first, but the female lead (FL) and male lead (ML) supported each other in their careers, and it was as romantic as any romance drama can get. I almost wish they would get together in real life.
I don't play tennis at all, but watching Wu Lei play tennis in this drama makes me want to try it out as well. Haha. I think this underdog theme in the drama is truly motivational and worth watching. Anyway, this drama has made it to my list of favorite dramas of all time

Slow burn romance and true love
Yang yang brought me here from Who Rules the World. I was a bit skeptical when I see the poster but this cdrama turns out to be worth it.Let's talk about the cast. I suppose YY is famous in China, but after watching WRTW and Love o2o, I think he's suited to play historical characters due to his dashing demeanor. But I do love Yu Tu character. Ambitious person from normal background, realistic and relatable. Not some perfectly handsome and rich CEO. His passion for aerospace is also admirable.
Meanwhile I think Dilraba is the perfect Qiao Jing Jing. We can see her character development from school girl until her 30s. How she grew from being in love to being a supportive partner. I also like how real her character is, as a famous actress, how she need to watch her weight, busy lifestyle, being rejected and how not everything is perfect for her. What truly admirable is her dedication towards YT and how YT influenced her to be a better person.
As for the plot and storyline, the drama is divided into 3 phase. The gaming part, the pursuit part and married life. I think of dropping the shows after first few episodes but still, I pushed through and I'm glad I did because no matter how mundane the earlier plot is, its critical for later plot development.
I like how cdrama nowadays involved social issues such as achieving dream, being filial, income, weight, long distance relationship and the right to be childless. The drama is also very positive and the couple doesnt seems to have a lot to fight on, and some audience might argue if this is realistic or not, but actually it is. Compromise and understanding is the basis of happy and healthy relationship. While some people crave drama and toxic relationship, I'm glad there are producers out there decided to create positive dramas like this. There is still hope in this world after all.
All in all, do watch it if you like slow burn romance and true love.

The trailer delivers
I enjoyed this.I was intrigued by the trailer and the trailer delivers! Storyline, plot, acting, pace, cinematography was good. It was refreshing to watch a well written plot. I also found out that this drama was a novel adaptation but the writer decided to give it its own twist, which was perfect, I think the drama stands out on its own.
Chemistry wise- this may be unpopular opinion, but I'm not feeling it. I think both leads act well together but I don't ship them. Someone quoted the leads like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, well I agree.
Cast - I'm biased towards WCR, I think she is so pretty and this role is perfect for her. The supporting cast is great too, The one who play Prince Sui impressed me in the last 2 episodes. I was moved. I love cute, grumpy He Zhen and my foodie empress Xueji too.

Great acting, heavy message
This film is a testament to the incredible talents of both actors, though I admit, Leo Wu drew me in initially, only to be pleasantly surprised by Zhang Zi Feng's remarkable acting prowess. Their on-screen chemistry was great, enhancing the already amazing performances. The movie boasted not only superb casting but also stunning cinematography, complementing its fresh and innovative storyline. As an avid fan of Leo, I can see his exploration of an unorthodox character, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his acting career. It's clear he's a professional pushing the boundaries of his acting range.
Initially I’m seeking a light-hearted comedy, but stumbled upon a seemingly simple movie that carried a profound message, catching me off guard. Although it wasn't precisely what I anticipated, I highly recommended it to movie critics and enthusiasts who value depth and craftsmanship.
This film is precisely the type I envision producing if I were to step into the role of a producer. While it might not be my cup of tea at this moment, its quality performances, innovative concept, and thought-provoking themes make it a noteworthy addition to the cinema landscape, sure to be appreciated by those seeking substance in their movies.

Its no wonder that this is the most popular Thai drama ever. I know the underlying theme is romance (like every other drama in the world) but i fell in love with the main actress (karaked/kedsurang) a historians who defied the norms of being a women during Ayuthayya period. Despite being called crazy and insane, she is always curious for knowledge and keep her promise to her twin. I absolutely love the fact that she did not spend her time being in love with the hunks of Ayuthayya.
From romance drama perspective - you will love Lord Dech. He may appear cold and arrogant (like every other typical hero) but he was actually very understanding.
The writer is an absolute genius!
Not to mention the setting, it makes me want to live there too!

I cried buckets for this drama
I cried buckets for this drama!LLTG was highly recommended everywhere so it was on my list for such a long time. Overall, it’s not that great but it’s watchable. For historical fiction drama, I think Who Rules The World has better plot and pace.
The cast was good. Leo and Lusi, despite being in their early 20s during the filming, portrayed their character well. So does the supporting characters, I especially love Shaosang’s mother, Yuanyi. What an amazing actress. The relationship between this mother and daughter was done beautifully. For those who hated her mother, I truly feel her character as Asian parents at that time, and being a war general for 15 years. And she is probably the person that love Shaosang the most.
But the plot. Oh the plot. So many love story and revenge. And the pace is so slow. I had to play 1.25x speed to watch it. The villain’s character development is out of place, His Majesty the King and the crown prince is a joke. And poor Yuan Shanjian, can we get a better ending for that guy. He’s been waiting for Shaosang for so long and when they almost got married, FL old flame comes back. How unlucky is that.
Not to mention the ending. Its so lame. Would have been great if it fast forward to few years later, with ML & FL, got married and have a bunch of kids, since both of them grew up without love and family.

It okay thats love
I've been anticipating this drama since the announcement of its release. However, after watching the first episode, I found it cringe and decided to hold off until all the episodes are available. Despite reading mixed reviews, I'm contemplating whether to watch it, especially considering the talented cast. Some comments on MDL suggested that episodes 30 and beyond are better, so I skipped episodes 1-31 and went straight to episode 32, but its so cringe. I'm having existential crisis whether to continue or not.The script... I couldn't believe the dialogue coming from Bailu and Dylan's mouth. However, having just finished SOKP and being impressed by Bai Lu's performance there, and being a fan of Dylan Wang from TLBFD, I thought I might as well continue watching since I have some spare time. After a few more episodes, I think I'm starting to understand Shuyi's character. It's indeed a complex character. As the saying goes, love can lead to foolish decisions. Even a great journalist can make poor choices in love. But that's part of being human. Love can make us vulnerable, and in this case, perhaps a bit like a drama queen. Although, I find Shiyan's character a little unrealistic in this story.
Since I've only watched selected episodes, I don't think I'm qualified to give a comprehensive review. However, for those wondering whether to watch this drama, my advice is to approach it with an open heart and mind. Acknowledge its flaws, and you might find some enjoyment. For drama enthusiasts, a good drama is a gem, and even a less impressive one can still offer some entertainment.

Lovely Time
if you like True Beauty, you should watch this. if you like A Time Called You, you should watch this. if you watched A Time Called You and feel disappointed, you should watch this. It’s been a while since I watched kdrama because I’ve moved to cdrama, but I’m glad I picked this up. This is a typical yet epic kdrama love story. I cried, I laughed, the actors moved my heart. the cinematography is beautiful, the story is fictional yet plausible. the physical contact is cringe yet endearing. good job BWS and KHY for giving me back the feeling of watching a drama. when most kdrama nowadays focuses on thriller, zombies, devil, makjang, LR is like a fresh cool mineral water after a long and tiring run on a sunny day 🧡
